It was important to us that we had a detailed estimate with no surprise expenses at the end. Both Phil and Tony were very helpful with preparing our estimate and educating us on the various flooring options we could choose from. They were always available to take our calls and answer any questions we had. Once we had an estimate and our new flooring picked out, the job was started within a few days. Dylan did our installation and we were so impressed with his work! He showed up on time every day and his attention to detail was very clear. He worked efficiently but nothing ever felt rushed. He was polite, friendly and did quality work. We are so happy with the end result. John and his team helped us with the removal and reinstallation of our cabinets and appliances so the work could be done. They also showed up on time and took care of everything so the flooring work could be done. We spent a lot of time doing our research on replacing our kitchen floor and are so happy we went with Hunt's Flooring. He eagerly educated us on different types of flooring, happily accepting the terms of our budget, and steered us in the right direction of the products he offered...which were very plentiful! What we valued most about Hunt's is that, right from the start, we felt like they valued us as a customer of their store. Before we even started to commit to purchasing something from them, the staff spent a lot of time helping us find the right product for our project...and also allowed us to have alone time searching and talking, free from salesman tactics or distractions. We never felt like we were getting "sold" to...and that was SO refreshing! When we finally did find something we loved and ordered it from them, the customer service didn't stop. Given our budget and my love of projects, I planned on installing the floor by myself. Many other stores, we quickly discovered, dissuade their customers from DIY. Tony was excited we were installing the floor by ourselves, and went out of his way to give us tips and tools to use throughout our project! If we ever need any flooring solution ever again, we will, hands-down, begin our search at Hunt's Flooring. What's more, we HIGHLY recommend anyone in the same boat as us to do the same!! We had to have a bathroom redone for a second time and we called Kowalske in Delafield this time…read more Staci came out and looked at everything and asked questions about how it was done and if we wanted to maybe make changes. She redesigned the entire bathroom and it actually works out better for us. We needed a handicapped accessible bathroom and she was very conscious of making sure we were comfortable with every decision and action from beginning to end. Then we met with Eric, Brittany and Staci to go over everything from beginning to end. They all walked us through everything and how we could track daily updates. Through the process, they communicated constantly to make sure things were going good. Martin was also incredible every time he was here. He was also very conscious to make sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. We couldn't have asked for 4 better people to work with. If we ever decide to update our Kitchen, I hope we get the same 4 people. I would highly recommend Kowalske and their team.

To say that I was pleased with UBuildIt doesn't even begin to describe the process. Everyone at UBuildIt is a true professional and is incredibly helpful and transparent. We had the pleasure of working directly with Jamie as our planning consultant and Frank as our general contractor. They were always there to answer our questions and were available to us at all times throughout the build process. They help from day one with lot identification and evaluation all the way to your final inspection. Unfortunately, they won't help you move all of your personal items into your wonderful new house! However, they are there to support you in any way that they can. Joe, UBuildIt owner, even helped me 'break' into our house when the key from our lock box got mistakenly left in a completely locked house. I don't know many other company owners that will do that for you (on a Sunday morning nonetheless). One of the big differences between UBuildIt and other 'traditional' builders is that they offer their services on a flat fee basis. Thus, they truly have your best interests as a homeowner at heart. They make the same amount of money whether you buy a $10,000 toilet or a $10 one. That's not true of other builders. Their process is very well-refined. They are experts in the construction business and will provide tons of value throughout the design and build process. Most new home owners have unrealistic budget expectations. UBuildIt provides their guidance and advice to keep you on budget and let you know when your expectations aren't necessarily realistic. The network of preferred subcontractors UBuildIt has established who will actually build your house are just as fantastic as they are. We were so turned off at the initial meeting that we opted to continue searching for builders, and apparently, the representative we met with opted not to work with us, either. In short, we met with her for one hour and she took four...FOUR...personal phone calls within that time frame. We didn't say anything about it at the time, but no customer should have to tell a prospective builder how unprofessional that is. I can see maybe one phone call if it is urgent, but nothing about her personal calls seemed catastrophic enough to interrupt a meeting for. Strike one. We had received a PDF pamphlet of information with testimonials from previous customers. One customer had built a house which looked almost exactly like what we were looking for, within the price range we are staying in. Great, right? Wrong. During our meeting, the person we met with said that pamphlet is not only for their Oklahoma branch, and "prices are a lot cheaper in Oklahoma so we can't build for that cheap", but the pamphlet is also 8 years old? Why did you send it to us, then?! Strike two. Strike three happened when we told the rep the price range we wanted to stay in, between house building and land. The look on her face and the "well, there's no way we can build within that price range" statement that followed was enough. We have met with several builders over the last year, and our price range has been perfectly compatible for everyone else. Nonetheless, we cordially finished the meeting and we asked her to send us information on their simplest model house, thinking that maybe, just MAYBE, we would keep this company on the table. She said she would email the info to us the next day. She never did. We never heard from her again after our initial meeting. We felt this lady was nothing short of rude and insulting. Will not even consider U Build It after our meeting with her.

We recently had Heartwood Custom Floors install new flooring in a previously sunken living room…read morethat we had a carpenter raise up. Dillion was the second installer that we talked to and we were immediately impressed with him. He was very personable and very knowledgeable of his craft. He provided an estimate with a detailed explanation of the scope of work within 2 days after our first meeting. We chose Heartwood Custom Floors over the larger established and well known competitor that we first talked to. The flooring that we needed (ash and cherry) was a special order and was delivered within the timeline that Dillion had given us and the installation began on the day he scheduled. We were told by Dillion that his brother Eric would be doing the install and just like with Dillion we were immediately impressed with Eric. Our flooring needed to installed on a diagonal to coordinate with the rest of the 40 year old flooring in our house and it needed to be done within a cherry wood border. Diagonal install is more tedious and time consuming. Eric got right to work on the project and after many hours of hard work the new wood was perfectly installed. Eric was conscientious about the color of new wood looking as good as could be with the surrounding older floor and showed us 6 different stain possibilities, one of which was custom blended and was just right. Eric also refurbished a cherry border that was in our dining room without having to redo the rest of the floor in there. Our project was completely done within the timeline provided to us. We couldn't be happier with the final results. We would not hesitate to use Heartwood Custom Flooring again and highly recommend them.

He was responsive, prompt and communicated clearly. He was on time every day of the job, and he finished the job in the time allotted. His prices were competitive. The work was beautiful. He did two rooms with 120 year old Birds Eye Maple floors and they look great and should stand up a long time. You will not go wrong hiring Dillon.

Dan came out to our house in early November and refinished our one piece fiberglass…read morebathtub/surround. It turned out very nice and was much cheaper than replacing and didn't require demolition of my bathroom. He also guaranteed the finish for 5 years. I am very happy with the results and think refinishing was a good choice.
