Let me start off by saying that the lady that squeezed me in for a last minute evening appointment was nice over the phone. The optometrist herself was also nice and professional. However I still do not feel comfortable returning to this place much less bringing my kids here. At check in I felt like I was entering a high pressure used car dealership. Upselling right off the bat. I gave them my info over the phone to access my vision insurance but when I arrived they asked for my medical insurance also. Stating it's for my convenience in case it's needed in the future. I don't know why I allowed myself to be compelled to give them that information. I am just hoping I don't get any other surprise billing. My main concern is with the lady who was doing all my preliminary test prior to my being seen by the optometrist. She was chewing gum the whole time under her mask. It looked like she was new or in training. In front of everyone she was friendly but in the office she was short to the point of being rude and definitely disinterested. You can feel she could care less about you. Just going thru the motion. I was taken aback by her abruptness but resigned myself to it and didn't call her out . The worst part was when I was doing the retina scan. She just kept using her hand to push my head against the machine like I was a child. Seriously is that even protocol? Maybe explain to me better what I needed to do so you don't feel compelled to use your hand to press my head against the machine? read more

I would recommend this office to anyone who's looking for the absolute best services, products and the latest in technology for a comprehensive Eye Exam. I counted about 5-6...perhaps more in depth testing before my actual eye exam, can anyone be more thorough? I'm definitely impressed with the amount of technology in this amazing office. Everyone from the front desk, the Opticians, even the other patients we're amazingly pleasant. The Doctors were very friendly, knowledgeable and patient (I ask slot of questions). As I expected, the exam couldn't have been more thorough, everything was explained, step by step, including the recommendations (on which the Optician elaborated on more) which helped me make a decision, in regards to my new eyewear, much faster. Rebecca explained to me why the polarized sunglass lenses will work best for me as a driver and how the Blue coating on my lenses will reduce glare from my monitors at work and why it was the best choice for me. Yes, I went a tad bit over my budget, but nothing good is cheap and nothing cheap is good. I will be bringing my family and recommend this office to all my friends. read more

I've been going to Woodbridge Optometry for over 10 years now, I believe, if not longer. Have seen many of the original optometrists like Dr. Likens and Toki (spelling?) and have never had any problems or complaints. Scheduling is easy and accommodating, staff is friendly and the doctors always helpful with the services provided. I had an exam today with Dr. Yang and to order contacts and the same sentiment applies. Great doctor and the whole process straightforward from beginning to end. Went to this optometrist in the beginning of 2021 and I had no problems they were really nice everything went smooth then I go back this year 2023 and get treated with horrible service. Got helped out by Sawab she had the nastiest attitude she was so stuck up I couldn't even believe that she has a job in helping people she's so rude and she just seemed too entitled to help me and if helping me was beneath her. I don't know what happened at Woodbridge the past couple years but hire people that are actually helpful and won't look at you like you're a waste of their time. read more

Service was good, optometrist was great. They were running a bit more behind schedule than I had anticipated even with an appointment but that wasn't a huge deal. The costs are where I'm a bit confused. I have VSP, my last optometrist did not charge that much for both glasses and contact lens exam. The cost to just replace the lens of my existing glasses + that days exam totaled $300 after insurance. I could've just gotten a whole new pair of glasses with that cost but I didn't have time to look and I liked my current pair. I was able reimburse half that with FSA but even then, I'm not sure where they get their numbers from.. (I understand everything is itemized in the receipt, but the determination on pricing of each item seems incredibly overpriced). read more

The office is beautiful and has great selection of glasses. The staff is very helpful and very accommodating. I came here with a friend to help them determine what to do with a Persol blue frames that my friend already owned. I recommended to get a gradient blue prescription lenses installed in the frames. They did a fantastic job of the lenses! The lenses goes from a blue at the top of the lense to clear at the bottom. It looked 1/2 regular and 1/2 suglasses at the same time, depending on the lighting. Since the 1st pair looked really great, my friend is currently converting another frame(tortoise frame by Oliver People) with gradient lenses. My friend opted for yellow but I convince them with go with a orange-yellow. Since they did not have sample color lenses, they created one orange and one orange yellow lens to compare before creating the final product. Excellent customer service and great accommodations when creating beautiful eyewear. read more

With the plethora of optometrist choices in Irvine, I'm glad Yelp steered me here. Everyone at this office is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. My first appointments were with Dr. Toki, who is very sweet. She is popular and gets booked up quickly, so I would plan in advance when you want to schedule an appointment with her. I had a work conflict come up so I had to reschedule and the office offered me an appointment with a new optometrist Dr. Bracken. He was great too and I'd be happy to go back to him in the future. I've ordered glasses, sunglasses, and contacts from here and have always been satisfied. In fact last year I had extra flex money to spend and ordered my next year of contacts in advance. The office told me that if my prescription changed, they could swap out the boxes as long as I kept the boxes unopened and in new condition. The selection of glasses and sunglasses is good, and it's nice that the staff will help you pick out glasses that are flattering, but don't pressure you into anything. One time I wanted a cheaper pair of glasses because I typically only wear my glasses on at night, and they helped me find a stylish pair. And the best part, they include chocolates in your bag when you pick up your orders :) read more

I have been going to WO for almost three years now and I cannot say enough about the team at this office. All the doctors are awesome. I don't have a particular doctor but knowing you will be given the same attention by each of them is comforting. They really pay attention to details and ask all the right questions. The front desk tram and opticians are amazing. I explained what I was looking for in frames and my optician (Renee) selected three pairs and she nailed it. She picked a frame I may not have even noticed and she asked me to try them. It took about a second for me to realize they were perfect!!! I didn't know what I didn't know!!! Not sure if woodbridge has too many patients and do not care for existing patients, or even making too much cash, but customer service from reception and techs are not on point. The doctor who helped with my exam was very professional and helpful. But, the technician who assisted me choosing my glasses, was really pushing for the higher end ray bans. Given I was there 1 hour before closing, pushing someone to purchase glasses someone will be wearing everyday for the next 2 years is unacceptable. I called in earlier to schedule my 2nd annual appointment, the "gentleman" who took the call was very snippy with me. Hello? Customer service? I guess they were out on vacation. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. They used to be so much better around 3-4 years ago, but now seem to rush me in and out and try to sell me a bunch of stuff I don't need. I went to another optometrist nearby and that optometrist said all the things Woodbridge recommended were unnecessary and they were just trying to UPSELL PRODUCTS at a HUGE MARKUP (2-3x more than other places or online). They are ripping you off bigtime. Buy contacts/glasses at Costco or honestly anywhere online instead, you will save a TON of money. The boss tried to make some nonsense statement in another review about how other places could be knockoffs and "not authorized," but it is a bunch of baloney. read more

Dr. Bracken and team were very helpful throughout my visit. I felt comfortable and like I was in good hands. The frame prices seemed a bit on the pricey side, which was expected as the brands they carry are higher end. The shocker came after the visit. I was looking up the frames I ordered to show a coworker and saw that the same frames are selling online at multiple stores for half the price I paid at Woodbridge Optometry. Even the standard suggested retail price was less than what my receipt reflects. I'd recommend researching the frame prices before purchasing from them. They have a nice selection to look around, but I would have saved money making an out-of-network claim if I had taken the time to make sure the price they were offering was a fair one. read more

Came in for new prescription and really enjoyed my experience. The girls at the front desk were helpful and friendly. I like that they are able to begin the exam right away using the different machines. Got me in and out right away ( had an appointment before work) so this was a important to me. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful. That alone will have me going back. This past December, however, I received exceptional service after I experienced vision issues at work and called for advice. The lady whose name I cannot remember (sorry!) listened to me with attention and genuine concern, asked relevant questions, and directed me to primary care, where my health issue was eventually resolved. Two weeks later, I received a phone call from her to check on my health status! Updating my previous review. Although our first experience was less than 5 stars, the Woodbridge optometry staff made a better impression on us the second time around. I appreciate what Bob did to make our experience a better one. I'm confident in my sons prescription, especially since the dr took her time, and made a point not to rush through it. The optician who helped us kept it to who we were there for...my son. We had his exam done, and glasses ordered in just about an hour. Which is just about right.
