I came here about 2 years ago and haven't gone back. The only reason I am writing this review is to warn other potential customers. I went to see Dr. Kenneth Bracken for my yearly eye exam. The receptionist Julie was rude but I brushed it off the 2 times I went in there. Dr. Bracken did the exam and through out he disregard what I had to say. He seemed surprised I new how to properly insert and care for my contacts even though I've been wearing them since high school. He changed my prescription even though I told him I didn't feel comfortable with it since my old one has worked for me for years. I told him the new contacts did not feel comfortable and prescription seemed too strong. He told me my eyes would adjust within a few hours and to try the new prescription for two weeks at least. Those 2 weeks were terrible. I had constant headaches, nausea due to the stronger prescription, and I would really have to focus when I walked since it seemed the ground had dips. I could constantly feel my left contact in my eye which made my eye very red and uncomfortable. I called back asking to see Dr. Bracken and Julie tried to talk to me out of it because the Dr. knew what was best and my insurance wouldn't cover the follow up visit. She eventually scheduled me an appointment with much hesitation. I went in the next day and told Dr. Bracken my symptoms which instead of listening to me and admitting he made a mistake, he asked me if I was pregnant and perhaps my symptoms were coming from the pregnancy. I was livid. Just because I am nauseous doesn't mean I'm pregnant. I told him no and told him that I wanted to go back on my old prescription. I also reminded him that I told him I was happy with my old prescription and its not fair for me to pay for a new set of contacts and this follow up appointment since he made the mistake and disregarded what I said. He seemed hesitant and said he doesn't like to discuss the "money part" and the women at the front desk would have to work it out with me. I said no and I told him that it was poor service and I shouldn't have to pay for something that I didn't want in the first place. He finally reluctantly agreed and said he would walk up to the front with me and tell them personally not to charge me. He gave me a set contacts with old prescription and said "okay we are done". I said, "great now can you walk up there with me?" He said "umm yes let me just get something, Ill be right up". I walked up and Julie tried charging me and I told her what the doctor said and she didn't believe me. She asked for my card and I said I wouldn't give it to her until the doctor told her the situation. He finally came up after I asked Julie to call him up. He finally told Julie not to charge me for the appointment and the contacts and walked away. Julie just gave me a dirty looked and curtly "you are all set I guess". I said goodbye and she didn't respond. I have never gone back and yet they continue to email me about promotions and setting up my yearly eye exam even though I have asked them to stop. I have never been treated with such disrespect and I've never had a doctor completely disregard what I am saying and write off my symptoms and concerns. Please save your money and the headache of dealing with such a terrible practice. read more

Absolutely horrible management. I've been here for many years and I have slowly been noticing every optician and even my doctor who has been working there for YEARS suddenly leaving one by one! It's clear the owner Scott does NOT care for his employees well-being at all, and just cares about the money they make him. The service has not been the same and I can tell the employees hate working there. I hope there is an improvement soon because I genuinely love all the employees and I've been coming here since Dr. Likens was here but something needs to be done about that owner. read more

I have used Woodbridge Optometry even at their prior location many years back. Staff was friendly and everything progressed very nicely from arriving to the exam and to choosing a pair of eye glasses. What I learned by accident is that they mark up frame pricing over MSRP which adds cost to the customer. For example, I selected a pair of Oakley eyeglasses, but there was no tag on them and the lady I was with couldn't find the price in the computer. So I quickly went to the Oakley corporate website, found the glasses and showed her the MSRP. She later with the help of another arrived at a price that was $38.00 over MSRP. Oakley Corporate sells the glasses for $224, MSRP is $320, Woodbridge price for the frames is $358. I wasn't asking for street pricing of $224, but I didn't want to pay over MSRP. Lots of profit for them at the $320 price. I was told the price is higher since they "service" the glasses???? I didn't make a big fuss and I paid the premium but thought I would share my story with you. If you need a second pair of glasses outside of your VSP plan, maybe for Sunglasses, you might be better getting your eye prescription from them and shopping around. read more

Sadly, I don't like giving bad reviews but I am disappointed with second my visit last week. This place did an exam that caused an allergies on my left eye on my first visit. I came to them two days later to pick up my ordered glasses and to disclose with the situation. Without apologizing and giving me free check of my left eye. They charged me money for wasting my time to come in again and having a doctor that used just light to look at my eye. For that he charged me $60. This place has a doctor that doesn't care about patient as much as money. Will not come back Ps. Two stars becauSe the ladies in the front were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Toki is an angel! Came in for an emergency consultation- I tore a contact in my eye and couldn't get it out. I'm not a patient here, I just came in because it was the closest open office to my work and I was skeptical about actually being seen without an appointment, but her assistant brought me back right away and Dr. Toki had me in and out in mins. She's super sweet, very efficient, and fast-she didn't skip anything, she made sure to give my eyes a thorough check before she sent me on my way (and with the contact removed!) Thank you Dr. Toki and team! You guys are lifesavers! read more

it's a good place with some weird things that will make you think that you are not at the right place - While taking the eye pressure they poked into my eye and it's paining, all they did was checked the eye and said there is no injury, but it's still paining, how can you not take the responsibility - You will be forced to add +0.5 magnification to your existing number for some reason, I am not sure why do I have to argue on this that I don't want anything more than my eye need - My insurance give me a frame every year, with something out of your pocket you may get a good latest and the greatest pair of glasses, these guys find it weird to put the original shades on the last year's frame and would not swap it for you, strange to hear from them that it's against the policy and you should not even do it from anywhere else. one may use multiple sunglasses but what would I do with several pair of reading glasses, especially if they are not made with current year's prescription. I hope the only idea behind this is money minded business, that customer will have to reuse the frame to order new lenses and they will make more money. Many other places like Costco, lenscrafters do understand this and never ask me a question when I request to swap glasses on previous year's frame while ordering a new one - I requested to place an order for a frame which was back ordered and I am ok to wait, for some reason, they are pushing the order for lenses until the frame arrives. surprisingly, my wife has the same case but the other person dealing with it didn't wait to place the order. if customer is ready to wait, why are you concerned. - On top of it for all frames they will add at least $40 on top of the MSRP on the manufacturer's website and add $10 material cost, which means if your insurance is paying you $150 per year, you would just get $100 adjusted and rest will on on your pocket, who sells the things with 20% more than the MSRP read more

Every time I come here there is a problem. I put up with it for convenience and but I just had the last straw. The first time they didn't order my contacts. I asked them two weeks later where my contacts were and they said oops sorry I didn't order them. Another time they threw away my contacts to give me new contacts and they didn't have my prescription. So I had to go with a higher prescription. The front ladies can never read my insurance and try to get me to pay more for my visit. The straw that broke the camels back is my husband has never been and he needed contacts. So I booked him an appointment, almost out of contacts he shows up to his appointment they tell him the doctor has to leave and can't see you now. They didn't call him, no warning. He goes okay when can they see me next. 6 WEEKS!!!! What the hell! He says I only have a few days left of contacts. They just tell him sorry. What kind of business is this?!?! The doctors charge you $50 if your a no show, can I charge them for flaking? Never never go here!!! Take your business elsewhere! Update: they reached out to me to try to make this better. They are now saying his appointment was on a different day. He works in Burbank and works from home on Fridays. He would always book a Friday appointment not on a Tuesday. But they are now trying CYA on a public forum. It's easy to try paint me out as in the wrong. People beware! read more

The staff is definately friendly and Dr. Loki herself was extremely friendly and professional. Im very certain that Woodbridge is very capable and gives top-notch eye care to their customers. My complaint is regarding how long I had to wait to be seen. My appointment was at 10:15am. I came in ten minutes before and I didnt get seen by a doctor until 11am. Also, I didn't get an apology from any of the staff for having to wait that long. I feel that my time was not valued, thus the one star. read more

I just moved to the area and I was a new patient for Dr. Toki this week. I had the best experience possible at Woodbridge. The staff was so helpful! I filled out my paperwork, was promptly taken for my appointment on time, all test were done by the assistant Tina, who was extremely friendly and explained everything the entire time. They even measured my prescription from my old glasses to compare how my vision was doing to the past. Dr. Toki took her time through my appointment and made sure to double and triple check everything to make sure that my new glasses worked better for me (I was getting headaches with my old ones). She was so friendly and explained all of the issues and potential solutions for my eye problems. After my appointment I went to get my frames picked out and they were extremely helpful again. Woodbridge has a great selection of frames and I was able to find something I absolutely love. They also took time letting me choose them, I did not feel rushed at all. I've definitely found my new optometrist and would highly recommend coming here! read more

Will never go there again ever. The front desk is kinda rude, not helpful at all. Poor customer service, and can't even find my insurance after provideed SSN. 0 tolerance for lateness, so if you are late they are not gonna take you at all. I have been to another optometrist 10min before they close but they still conducted the whole eye exam and fitting for me. Avoid at all cost. Never have I seen such a thorough eye exam as I experienced this morning with Dr. Wilson and her staff. Dr. Wilson took the time to explain what the eye pictures meant and even gave me a summary card at the end of the appointment. It truly was a pleasant experience. Also it was a very pleasant office environment. One other note is that my husband was waiting in the car outside in front of Woodbridge. One of the staff saw me going outside to give him my jacket and took him a bottle of water while he waited. How many times would you ever see that occur in a normal business environment? I was wearing one of my Tom Ford sunglasses on my shirt and when I leaned over to pick up my daughter in her stroller it flew off and hit the concrete floor. One of the lens popped out. I tried putting the lens back in but it was difficult because the lens was held in by a fish line. I kept trying and eventually broke the line. I found Woodbridge Optometry here on yelp, gave them a call and they said they can definitely fix it. As soon as I got there, they greeted me and told me it would be a minute till someone would help me. The receptionist greeted me and took my Tom Ford's to get fixed. They were done in less than 15 minutes. They were like brand new. When I asked what the cost was, she said I didn't have to pay. I told her I am not a customer of theirs and she said not to worry. I couldn't believe it. No one even put me through the discomfort of trying to sell me product. I walked out a very happy "customer". I will definitely come back if needed and I will recommend this business. read more

Dr. Toki has been serving our family's optometry needs for a few years. My daughter has used contact lenses since she was 12, thanks to Dr. Toki's guidance. Glasses made her self conscious and Woodbridge Optometry taught her proper use of disposable contacts when she was in sixth grade. I have always appreciated their thoughtful, patient staff and would recommend their office. read more

Clean office with ample parking outside. Waiting room is a tad small. Good service - prob the best part about this practice. There is a small children's corner but again, its small. That extra eye exam that takes pictures of your eye at close range for an extra cost is BS - pass on that. Eyeglass frame selection is modest but they can special order your request or you can browse catalogs. Give this place a try. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Kao - great experience overall from check-in to check-out. The office looked fantastic and the equipment was more up-to-date than the EyeExam 2000 office that I used to go to. The only thing that I would recommend is carrying more moderately priced frames. It seems that most Optometry offices carry expensive designer frames, but if you only need glasses for computer work, it's not really worth the expense. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Woodbridge Optometry. After being unable to book an appointment with my usual optometrist for an unplanned visit, I called Dr. Likens and he was able to see me same day. Once I was done filling out the new patient forms, I was immediately called back and attended to by Dr. Likens. He examined my eyes and was able to discern the issue of my agitation and give good instruction on how to treat it. Upon leaving, I paid my bill (currently no vision insurance) and found it to be very affordable. I would recommend Dr. Likens and Woodbridge Optometry to anyone needing vision services. read more

What a wonderful group that this office has. The kindness and professionalism that was shown was excellent. They assisted me in opening a VSP account and it saved me half of my account owed. I also could make payments and I have never had this option before. I needed to have proper eyecare due to the recent loss of my father and my eyes tearing and a corneal lesion and they helped me through a very trying time with compassion. Such an amazing office! Doctors and staff are all helpful and caring and genuinely go out of their way to help however they can. When I first starting going to the office, I was a teen trying to understand the insurance process and they were extremely patient and understanding and explained everything to me! They even have this new fangled device that takes a picture of the back of your eye, you can even have them e-mail it to you (it was my desktop background for a while). I am thoroughly disappointed with all aspects of Woodbridge Optometry. From the optometrist rushing me through my exam to the individual that didn't provide any guidance about selecting new frames to the fitting specialist that talked to me for less than 30 seconds and sent me on my way. After a month of trying to make my new glasses work for me, I visited another optometrist that provided a completely different prescription and service. Woodbridge optometry provided poor service and cost me a lot of money because they only focused on rushing me out the door. I am very disappointed. read more

Appointments need to be booked several weeks in advance (plan ahead) but when each of us arrived for our appointments - they were friendly and running on time. REBECCA was awesome :) She picked out great frames for each of us, giving great suggestions based on our face shape and type of correction we needed. Having moved to a new area we were in need of finding a new eye doctor to take care of our needs. On the recommendation of friends we made an appointment at Woodbridge Optometry. This was in December, and anyone that has ever tried to go to the Optometrist at that time knows it can be not only hard to get an appointment, but to get your glasses back in a timely manner. Not only did we all get appointments, in a block together, but all of our prescriptions we completed and ready for pick up before the end of the year, a big plus for us especially since our daughter flys back to school right after the first of the year. They have state of the art equipment and an incredible selection of frames and a friendly staff. I will be sure to recommend them to all of our friends. read more

Absolutely love this place. I basically found this place because of yelp and yelp definitely did not disappoint! I just had my 2nd formal eye exam with Dr. Elaine Kao (she's awesome!). It may not sound like I am that experienced with this place but within the past year, I came in for my first time at the beginning of 2012 to get gas permeable contact lenses (the ones I wear everyday) and frames, and then again at the end of 2012 to get colored contacts (worn occasionally). They always send out an email to confirm the appointment and they also send out an email to let you know your order has arrived (in my experience it usually only takes a couple days to a week for the order to arrive). They can also order frames for your approval if you just want to try it out to see how it looks (they don't force you to commit to buying anything). And you don't need to schedule appointments to pick up your contacts and/or frames (even the frames that you ordered to just try on). The entire office and all the equipment are always so clean too. Dr. Kao is so nice and patient to answer and explain any questions that I have. She also gave me a card that details what my vision is. The other staff members who I have interacted with (mostly Mimi and Paty) are always really professional and nice as well. I always have to schedule later appointments due to my work schedule and I'm always a bit late (sorry!) to my appointments but they never give me attitude and always greet me with a smile. They also never rush me out toward the end of my appointments even though it's near their closing time. They're also really informative about the pricing of everything so don't hesitate to ask. I think I can go on forever about the good things about this place but hopefully these things convince you that Woodbridge Optometry definitely set themselves apart from all the other optometry offices! read more

I can't say enough amazing things about this entire office, the doctors and staff! Everyone I encounter is so incredibly sweet and professional with me and other customers. Dr. Takeda is probably one of my favorite people and I feel like she gives me the most genuine care. I recently had LASIK and have spent quite a bit of time here for routine follow up appointments which drove me to write this review, considering most people really only see their eye doctor once a year. I also recently got blue light filters on a pair of glasses because I spend so much time at a computer and wanted to protect my eyes, especially post-LASIK. My experience choosing frames and working with the staff from that perspective was enjoyable as well! I can't say enough good things about how I am treated every time I have an appointment. read more

I had an eye exam at Woodbridge optometry and the minute I walked in I thought that there was definitely something up with my eyesight because all the staff were so beautiful. Not only were they beautiful but they were extremely helpful. Belinda? did a great job of explaining my insurance to me and doing the initial tests. Doctor Kara then did my eye test. My only complaint was that she said she didn't like British food. Heresy! To be fair I said that American TV sucks. Finally Margaret helped pick out a pair of frames that would match the shape of my face and skin tone. Unfortunately the pair that we both liked was a bit small. She ordered a larger pair of them for me to try when they come in with no obligation to buy. That's what I call great service. I came here about two months ago to get a new pair of glasses. The optometrist was really helpful and actually found out that I was slightly cross-eyed, which blew my mind. My other optometrist hadn't discovered that! The best part of my visit, by far, was working with the opticians. There's one woman there who has THE BEST eye (ha ha) for glasses - she can tell you in a second what type of glasses will complement your face shape. She patiently and sweetly advised me as I tried on every pair of glasses in their store. By far the best customer service I've ever had at the optometrist's office. As a new patient, I had to wait 3 weeks to be seen by Dr. Likens. This visit would be for a second opinion, and I almost went to another office to be seen earlier. I decided to wait it out because of the great reviews, and I am so glad that I did! I've been wearing glasses for most of my life, so I've seen my share of optometrists. I can say that I've never been seen by a more caring/competent doctor. Dr. Likens spent over an hour to examine my eyes in great detail, explained, and patiently answered my numerous questions regarding some recent developments that were concerning to me. At the end of the appointment, I felt confident I was being well taken care of. The two staff members who worked on my insurance were also friendly and professional. Did I mention that the office is spotless and beautiful? After years of searching, I believe I've finally found my forever Optometrist!!! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Toki for many years. She is always very nice and I never feel rush. All the staff are also very knowledgeable and friendly. They're also open every other Saturday but it usually books up fast so I call them up about a month or so in advance. Yes, they do offer the eye imaging thing, which they always stress that it is not covered by insurance. I get this done every other year but I never feel pressure to take it. I think getting it done at least once is good. If everything looks great then don't do it again for a few years. Love this place! read more

I was a new patient with Dr. Rani. She was very kind, patient and thorough with the exam. I also bought glasses here. They were behind schedule so it's kinda slow. but the glasses turned out great. As a senior, with a medical problem regarding wearing a mask, I was verbally accosted by the co-owner Mr. Scott Wald. I gave him paper work to support my medical problem and was told that my papers were bogus, basically telling me I was a liar. He told me that he had called the police to have me removed from his office. We have been patients of Woodbridge Optometry for over 35 years and to have been treated in this matter was uncalled for. Every other medical office I have been to has accommodated my medical problem without hesitation. Obviously I will not be returning to this facility that treats their seniors with such disrespect. read more
