I also love the Tahoe City Downtown Shops and Restaurants. I've had different experiences at this Campground, mostly great, so I'll keep coming again and again. It is located within a neighborhood, so some spaces are right next to people's backyards. However, the Campground has plenty of Pine trees and many of the homes are obstructed and can't really be seen from the sites. William Kent Campground Beach is also directly across the highway, perfect for watching the Sunrise or Sunset and there's a Market nearby to get coffee and other goodies.

Traffic noise - mostly during the day - it dies down and night and did not disturb my sleep at all. Bathrooms are far - especially for middle of the night trips to the bathroom! You should know: The website map has the sites marked in the wrong locations - so I reserved a site that I would not have preferred. The lower sites are 1-3, they have views of the lake, close to bathrooms, but the most traffic noise. Sites 4 & 5 have decent views of the lake - they require walking up stairs and will still have more traffic noise. Site 7 has views of the lake through trees - close to the top of the stairs. Sites 6, 8 & 9 don't really have lake views - they are farthest from the road with the least traffic noise, but also have the furthest to haul your gear from your car.

We came upon this trail while we were camping at Tahoe SRA. The trail goes right by the campground and snakes down to the lake. The campground host told us that if we wanted to use the park's pier or rent kayaks at Commons Beach, we'd have to go down this trail. We did and found that it's great for all of those things. We even went down the trail a little after 10 pm to take a look at the stars. We saw the Big Dipper, the North Star, and the Milky Way! If you're in Tahoe City, bike or walk on this trail!

However, the beach itself is tiny and all rocks on the beach. I like the beach with sand more than just rocks! The water is like ice water cold as all the beaches in the Lake Tahoe area. It just crosses the street from the campground entrance. They forgot drinks completely And then none of the lattes were drinkable - worse latte I ever had. We spent over $150 on drinks that ultimately went untouched. Mistakes happen, and this could have been a much different experience if there had been even a small amount of acknowledgment or apology. Unfortunately, the poor service made an already frustrating situation much worse. Edit: they're excuse is always training, they don't take accountability. and they copy and paste ChatGPT responses to respond to reviews. They keep re-editing their response to try and take the high ground and paint a different picture.
