Scrod was delicious and service was spot on at a 92 year old birthday party. Are you guys ever going to redo the restrooms for goodness sake

A New Neighborhood Favorite! My wife and I recently moved to the area and stumbled upon this amazing family-owned restaurant. The Wooden Angel did not disappoint! Our server, Dawn, was an absolute treat--warm, attentive, and incredibly welcoming. The food was prepared perfectly and served beautifully. I ordered the prime rib, which came with a fresh salad, baked potato, and squash. Everything was cooked to perfection. My wife absolutely loved her lobster bisque and the steamed mussels appetizer. To top off a wonderful evening, the coffee and espresso martinis were fabulous. We are so happy to have found this gem and will definitely be regulars! Thanks for a wonderful first impression of our new home! read more

We ate here the night of Beavers Light Up. I had prime rib which was not only at a great price but was delicious. We also had seafood pasta at our table. The restaurant was nice a cozy. Romantic light that all just made you feel at home. Service was attentive. I loved that they brought around toppings for your baked potato. I have been here before for a birthday party and bridal shower read more

The desserts are also fantastic and they make a great expresso martinis. read more

Wanted to try this nice restaurant for my birthday/anniversary dinner. Upon walking in it was very nice inside and not very busy at 5pm on a Wednesday. We sat in the dining room side. As a starter I ordered a cup of lobster bisque and it was very good. They offer homemade garlic bread which was good. While looking at the prices on the menu they seemed kind of steep. When ordering, the waitress said the rack of lamb was what they are known for so I said welp let me try it. My wife order the panko chicken. We got our meals and the presentation was very nice. Both tasted excellence. I could have kept eating that lamb it was so good. They added sour cream, bacon, and cheese to the baked potato. My wife usually never eats her entire meal but she did here. We typically never order desert but this time we did. My wife got the warm apple desert and I got the strawberry cheese cake. She loved hers but my cheesecake was just ok, I've had better. It was definitely a nice establishment, pretty pricey although the food was worth it. read more

We have been to the Wooden Angel numerous times. It is one of our favorite places. The service is outstanding. The food is delicious and the wait staff are always there to fill your glass with water or ask do you need anything else. In fact, when we were there, the kitchen was a little backed up and our waitress gave us free drinks. You just can't beat that service. I've seen other reviews that complained about the food And the service and I have no idea what they are talking about. You can't beat this place for the prices and the excellent food. I highly highly recommend this restaurant. read more

My wife and I drove here from the Mountaineer Resort in WV for our anniversary on account of the resort having no decent restaurants open during the week. It's about a 40 minute drive. The property is a bit confusing as there is a casual restaurant on one side and this restaurant's entrance is in the back of the property. We sat outside on the patio on a pleasant evening. We tried two of the soups, roasted red pepper and lobster bisque, shared a crab cake and had prime rib and a a steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was friendly and attentive. We felt sort of bad because she had to walk so far from the restaurant to the patio. We had key lime pie for dessert and had a couple of drinks. It's no wonder why this place has been around for so long. Also, in case anyone is interested, I had Google Assistant book my reservation for me. I had never used that before and any of you Android users are skeptical, let me assuage those concerns by saying that it worked perfectly. read more

It is always a special treat to dine at the fabulous Wooden Angel. The owners are personable and will greet you when they are on the premises. All of the wait staff are pleasant and accommodating. The chefs are creative in their menu selections. We love the prime rib and pan fried scrod. Salads are fresh and appetizing, but, oh, the desserts are out of this world delicious! read more

We wanted to eat at places that were recommended by locals, so we ended up here. Very bad choice. The place looks old and smells old. The food did not justify the prices. Just bad. read more

It was hard for me to write this review because my mother had a good time, but the reality is that our experience at the Wooden Angel was very far below our expectations. I reserved a special room for 12 family members for a special birthday party at 5pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was not crowded or overwhelmed. Unfortunately, half of us had issues with our meals! Several meals needed to be sent back. The other meals needed additional or omitted items. My son's steak was RAW!! My sister's steak, ordered Medium Well, was medium rare. My sister's steak was sent back twice before she gave up and didn't want any meal at all. The vegetables on the meals returned to the kitchen were not replaced so those plates returned with cold sides. There were multiple levels of issues with 6 of the 12 meals that shat should not come from a high-end kitchen. Regardless, whether it was a major or minor issue, it felt like it was their first time ever dealing with a group of 12. They have a managerial issue that I suspect will NOT be fixed. They DO NOT have their act together...certainly not as a high-end restaurant...at very high prices. They are resting on their prior reputation which is not reflective of there current product. I expected a WHOLE lot more from the Wooden Angel and they miserably failed to meet the basics of reasonable expectations. Conclusion: I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. Obviously, they have serious issues since the previous owner's passing. They ask very high prices for very mediocre food. Service: C- Management: E- Food: D- Atmosphere: B- Attention to Detail: E Price: E Overall: D A colossal disappointment!!!!! Save your money any go elsewhere. read more

Tonight's version of the lobster dinner was a disappointment. The 1.5 pound lobster was beautiful (see picture) but quite dry, all three of us agreed. The price, $60, was also 50% higher than the last time, just four months ago. The prices of other menu items also were significantly higher than they were at our last visit. On the positive side, the server was extraordinarily professional. We'll not be back for the lobster, but likely will try a regular dinner again. read more

The Wooden Angel is a great choice for more upscale dining in Beaver county. The seafood risotto is soooo so good and the pork medallions with risotto is always delicious. Every meal has been great and full of flavor. The servers are always very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu also. You have to order the peanut butter pie...AHMAZING! read more

This is a local fine dining restaurant so I've been here many times. I've attended private parties in their event rooms mostly, dined in their main dining room and in the casual cafe area each once. I prefer takeout since I'm a fan of the food and not of a fine dining atmosphere. I've attended one private event and ordered takeout twice so far during the pandemic and their quality has not diminished. Their salmon entree is probably the best restaurant meal I've had in Beaver County! Their wine list is also my pick for best in Beaver County. It is a gem in our otherwise limited fine dining local scene. read more

I love the outdoor patio! Food is delicious and not the same heavy and bland fare you find at the other "nicer" restaurants in Beaver County. Great variety and high quality. read more

Tonight's meal was amazing in every way. Risotto knocked it out of the park. Every part of our meals was rich and flavorful. I haven't been here in years but I'll be a regular after tonight's meal. Pretty ambiance. They had a pianist playing for a great touch. Only complaint was how long we waited between courses. We were there for almost 2.5 hours. They may have been short staffed. Also, old, musty building made my allergies flare up. But awesome food and service! read more

First timer last weekend for my bday. I have read other reviews about the old decor and setting, I myself found it comfortable and quaint. But if you are into modern and fancy atmosphere, maybe try somewhere else. Waiter was attentive and good, not exceptional. Could have offered dessert for the occassions but owell. My wife got the steak salad, which consisted of a beautiful salad with two petite filets on top and roasted red potatoes in place of french fries. She really enjoyed her meal. I started with the beet and goat cheese salad and had seafood risotto for my meal. I have to say I am a little bias about loving anything with goat cheese, however, this one was a winner! Could eat it every day nooo doubt. The seafood risotto was exceptional and perfectly prepared. I felt the prices were reasonable and I will certainly be back again! read more

I have no food pictures but we visited after not being here for a long long time. I have to say we were so pleased with the whole meal! The scallops appetizer was beautifully presented and tasted amazing! We both had the prime rib. My husband apologized and said "this might be better than yours" and I agreed! The rub and tenderness was to die for. We'll def be back soon! read more

If it weren't for how long the food took to get to us I would've given a higher rating. Atmosphere was great, they decorated for Valentine's Day with beautiful fresh red roses at every table and lit the red candle after you were seated to add to the ambiance. It was a special Valentine's Day set menu but they had something for everyone to pick from. I had the prime rib - it was huge! and hubby got the rack of lamb and honestly it was the biggest serving of lamb we'd ever seen in a restaurant. Both main dishes were awesome, didn't really care for the sides that came with them - whipped garlic mashed (tasted instant) and baby carrots that tasted like they poured maple syrup on top (too sweet). We thought we allotted enough time before the show we were supposed to go with 2 hours between dinner and the show but I don't know if it was just an off night or what but it took forever to get our dinners. The waiter said the computers were down and it was also the first night for the new chef - we only had time for 2 bites of our dinners before we had to pack them up and leave (and we were still 10 min late for the show). Hopefully it was just an off night - the food was delicious, atmosphere was great just wish the timing was better for getting the food out to us. It's a little pricey, so come for special occasions. One thing the waiter didn't tell us - salads are not included in the meal so you'll end up paying for that if you end up getting and also the sautéed onions and mushrooms offered on my prime rib are also extra ($2.25 each) so expect that on your bill as well if you get it. read more

Found this to be a very nice restaurant. In a time of so many order at the counter and find your own table, this is a nice change to be seated AND served. Our server was very professional and knowledgeable regarding menu items and specials. When asked her opinion regarding some of the entrees she gave very good guidance and I landed upon the Linguine with the Roasted Red Pepper sauce. A good choice indeed! Creamy roasted red pepper sauce was a great compliment to the Veal meatballs which were so tender and perfectly cooked. The house dressing on the house salad was a great start to the meal. I also tasted the risotto, served as a side dish, nicely prepared. Though the serving size was so large, I couldn't finish the pasta, I found room for the mixed berry cobbler. It was very good with the ice cream on top. The cobbler topping was an Oatmeal type crumble, different but good. A most enjoyable evening and a wonderful place to enjoy time with good company. read more

Went there for Mother's Day. Service was extremely poor. Food was overpriced and not very good. No salt and pepper on the table. Had to repeatedly ask for drink refills. Had dinner last night with a large group of friends. We were seated in the "Boardroom", which was very nice. We have eaten there before, and the food is consistently excellent. The menu is creative and diverse. There is something for everyone...even a grilled cheese sandwich. Our group ran the gamut. They serve excellent lamb, and this was exceptional, even by their high standard. Fillet was also excellent. I had Crabmeat pasta, which was supurb. Crab was perfect., whole wheat pasta also done just right. This spot is known for its wine, and did not disappoint. Tonight, the experience was greatly enhanced by the service staff. Our server was Terry. very pleasant and went above and beyond what would be expected. This spot is simply excellent, and well worth going out of your way to experience. For a casual dinner, or special occasion. The prices are fair, and a very good value. Definitely make a reservation. Its a popular spot, and deservedly so. I recommend you visit if you can, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! read more
