Updated Review: Sadly we are forced to amend our original positive review of J&J after weeks of…read morefollow-up on our initial interactions with them went nowhere. As I had previously written, we recently took over a home that had been neglected for several years and initially called J&J for help clearing out the front and back yards. They were initially super quick in responding to our request, answered every question we had at the time, and had all of the work done in less than a week from our first contact. During the course of this first project we asked Joe and James if they would be able to stay on and do other projects for us. We also asked to sign up for their bi-weekly seasonal maintenance package for this season. We were told by both owners they could and would be able to do both, would put us on the maintenance list, and have James come back out in the next few days to inspect our porch and give us a quote for what we wanted done to it. That was almost five weeks ago. And despite exchanging several messages back-and-forth with Joe, to date no one has come to take care of our lawn/yard, or to do the project quote. Worse yet, after weeks of being told, "sorry, we're swamped but I got you", Joe just stopped responding altogether. They just completely ghosted us without any explanation, leaving us with grass over a foot high now and scrambling to find another company to do the work J&J promised us they could and would do. I get being busy I really do, but to just not show up or answer inquiries is completely unprofessional. And the worst part is I really liked these guys and was thrilled with the initial job they did for us. We would have more than understood if they were to busy to take on our larger projects, but they chose instead to say "sure, no problem, we can absolutely do that" and just never show back up. They never even provided us with the final invoice of the initial clean-out job despite us paying it in full, subsequently asking for it twice, and being texted it would be sent that day. It never was. Very unprofessional guys, just very, very unprofessional.

I think I may have been with these guys for about a year and a half or so so it's been a while now…read morethat I've been suspecting that they have not been coming to my house twice a month like they said they would which is what I am paying for. Eventually, I put cameras up in my home so now They are an added convenience because before he would tell me what dates the landscapers came to my home, but I wasn't able to prove it whether they were coming or not so it was just suspicion. I tried speaking to him about this respectfully, but I can clearly sense aggression, and attitude whenever I question how many times they've been to my home so now that I'm able to actually see how many times they've been to my home I spoke to Joe about this via text when I let him know that I was able to see when my services were being done or not. He began to mock me and laugh at me, believing that my cameras were put up solely just to be able to keep an attendance sheet on his workers. whatever I don't have to explain to him why I put cameras up so I didn't bother going back-and-forth about that. I respectfully asked for my services to be canceled but not only were they not coming twice a month which is what I was paying for, but my grass also has Patches all over it as well as many spots of the grass that are yellow thank you so much Joe for canceling my services. I wish you the best. Good luck with your company. I will be looking for another Landscaper who has more Integrity and is worth the money I pay.

A few weeks ago, I chose Design Fencing (designfencing@aol.com) to install a new fence in my yard,…read moreeven though I had used another fencing company twice before (I won't name them) to install a fence. They did great work before, and I was very satisfied then, but this time I didn't choose them. I read some recent negative reviews online, and their salesman didn't always get back to me in a timely manner about my quotes and answering my questions. I also asked if his company could repair a gate that needed to be rehung. He told me "No, my company doesn't do repairs. We replace." Well, that was not an answer I wanted to hear. So, I then went and got my second estimate, which was from Design Fencing. Their original quote for my project from Design Fencing was several hundreds of dollars higher, but Michael, their salesman, worked with me on lowering the price to my satisfaction. Michael also told me that his company would be willing to rehang the gate that I wanted to be fixed. Michael was very persistent asking if I had questions or concerns. He sent me frequent updates and texts asking if I had made my decision in choosing a fencing company. He didn't pressure me, but he was persistent in his communication, which greatly impressed me. He sent me a link to check out his company's positive reviews, and he also discussed with me his company's warranty policy. I decided to hire Design Fencing. I gave Michael a deposit of $540.00 to order supplies, and the balance was due after the job's completion. Michael told me that the fence would be put up three to six weeks later, which was fine with me. I paid by check since a credit card payment would incur a charge. The fence was put up within that time frame that we discussed. Joe, a middleman, worked with me on connecting with Anthony, his foreman. Today, Anthony arrived with two or three workers a little after 9 AM, and they were done with the project about 12:10. I was told it would take about three hours, and it did. Before they began, Anthony and I went over what was to be done and to make sure we were both on the same page. He then asked for access to an outdoor electrical outlet and to water to mix cement. The job was completed quickly and efficiently. Anthony and his crew cleaned up and took away an old gate that had been up before that was replaced with a new gate. Anthony was friendly and professional. His workers were also polite and pleasant. Even though Design Fencing's quote was still higher than my first estimate from my previously used company, I decided to go with Design Fencing for their great reviews, warranty, and their great communication with me. I figured the extra money spent was worth it. So, assuming my fence will be sturdy and last for years to come, I greatly recommend Design Fencing!
