A few weeks ago, I chose Design Fencing (designfencing@aol.com) to install a new fence in my yard, even though I had used another fencing company twice before (I won't name them) to install a fence. They did great work before, and I was very satisfied then, but this time I didn't choose them. I read some recent negative reviews online, and their salesman didn't always get back to me in a timely manner about my quotes and answering my questions. I also asked if his company could repair a gate that needed to be rehung. He told me "No, my company doesn't do repairs. We replace." Well, that was not an answer I wanted to hear. So, I then went and got my second estimate, which was from Design Fencing. Their original quote for my project from Design Fencing was several hundreds of dollars higher, but Michael, their salesman, worked with me on lowering the price to my satisfaction. Michael also told me that his company would be willing to rehang the gate that I wanted to be fixed. Michael was very persistent asking if I had questions or concerns. He sent me frequent updates and texts asking if I had made my decision in choosing a fencing company. He didn't pressure me, but he was persistent in his communication, which greatly impressed me. He sent me a link to check out his company's positive reviews, and he also discussed with me his company's warranty policy. I decided to hire Design Fencing. I gave Michael a deposit of $540.00 to order supplies, and the balance was due after the job's completion. Michael told me that the fence would be put up three to six weeks later, which was fine with me. I paid by check since a credit card payment would incur a charge. The fence was put up within that time frame that we discussed. Joe, a middleman, worked with me on connecting with Anthony, his foreman. Today, Anthony arrived with two or three workers a little after 9 AM, and they were done with the project about 12:10. I was told it would take about three hours, and it did. Before they began, Anthony and I went over what was to be done and to make sure we were both on the same page. He then asked for access to an outdoor electrical outlet and to water to mix cement. The job was completed quickly and efficiently. Anthony and his crew cleaned up and took away an old gate that had been up before that was replaced with a new gate. Anthony was friendly and professional. His workers were also polite and pleasant. Even though Design Fencing's quote was still higher than my first estimate from my previously used company, I decided to go with Design Fencing for their great reviews, warranty, and their great communication with me. I figured the extra money spent was worth it. So, assuming my fence will be sturdy and last for years to come, I greatly recommend Design Fencing! read more

I contracted Design Fencing about three weeks ago. The job included removal of existing chain link fence and installation of six foot PVC privacy fence with two gates. they obtained the building permit, scheduled the installation and showed up on time. I am very pleased with my new fence. The fence was the color and model I wanted. I was promised installation within 4-6 weeks pending weather and PRIOR JOBS. Although the prior jobs kind of turned me off, they were able to get my fence up on the 6th week while the supplies waited in my driveway for just 5 days. 3 employees did the install. 1 supervised mostly. I am happy with the final product. I am happy with the leveling and strength so far. If i had to criticize anything, it be small details such as the gap photos where pieces werent perfectly aligned. I am a perfectionist and attention to detail is what gets you 5 stars. I gave my recommendations to them as far as closing gaps and they definitely delivered. I still had a little clean-up to do when they left but I didnt mind because they did a good job. They took off $200 from the estimate I was given prior to them. After doing research for several months, I came across Design Fencing and am very happy I found them! We had to switch gears with the location and timing of our fence and Design Fencing was extremely accommodating throughout our whole process. I just had a classic gray privacy vinyl fence installed in my rear yard next to the adjacent property line. It was completed by the brother of the owner, Joe Palumbo within a reasonable time period with all the required stages of the process having been performed in a meticulous & perofessional manner. I hired Greg Gaske to repair a very old and weather-beaten fence. I was dubious that the fence could even be restored. Greg came to my home and surveyed the job. After he evaluated the work at hand, he promised to "do it right." When I had additional questions, he came to my home a second time to walk me through the process. Installation team worked very hard under difficult circumstances (weather plus complicated job). Installation team lead Jose was very polite and managed the team well. Joe kept us informed on any scheduling issues,the materials arrived and right after the Christmas New years holidays Anthony, Omar and Frank handled this 2 day job. His team did a good job: I had a big project for them, they came on time, finished the work on time, and the work is perfect with high quality. We needed to replace an old rotted wooden fence at the back of our property and I got Design Fencing's name from Home Advisor. Matt came out the next day and listened carefully to our concerns and gave us a very reasonable estimate for a chain link fence. He said that the work would be done in 4 to 6 weeks. Fast forward to yesterday, about 5 weeks later and Matt and his assistant, also named Matt, showed up exactly on time. They worked nonstop to remove a weed tree that was in the way, not an easy job. Then he remembered our concern that the fence be installed directly on our property line (an earlier competitor fence installer had screwed up badly) and asked us to very specifically show him where the fence was to be installed. True to his word, the fence was installed absolutely correctly, looks great and they removed every last bit of trash, including some garbage that had been stored behind the old fence. THE PUNCHLINE: Design Painting undercut the price of the competition, offered to begin the job before everyone could, estimated the job would take three days (as did his competition), and then assembled a team who finished in one. I couldn't be happier with their price, time, and work, and will be a returning customer. MORE DETAIL: I put my job's description (Painting the interior walls and trim of my home's foyer, living room, dining room, and kitchen) on Angie's List, and Design Fencing called me back along with several others. I met with two other painters before Design Fencing because I was just shopping around, and I was sold the moment Jeremy and his crew came into my house to give me an estimate. They were extremely motivated and knowledgeable. Jeremy asked me about my family and when I mentioned that I had a seven week old son in the house, Jeremy upgraded the paint I would be using to make sure to have as minimal fumes as possible. Jeremy made time to go over his reviews with me, as well as photos from his team's previous work. He was able to guess what other painters I had seen, as well as their competitive price. He was able to undercut them, as well as starting the job before they were able to, and I was so happy to see the job done under budget and ahead of schedule. We negotiated a price that we could both be happy with, and he gave me an estimate of three days on the job. His crew showed up on time, laid down tarps, used name brand primer and paint, and asked my permission if they could stay a couple hours later on the first day of their job, to which I agreed. The team at Design Fencing worked so well together that, with the extended hours they voluntarily asked for, they were able to finish the *ENTIRE JOB* in that one (long) day. I am now able to begin moving my furniture into my house several days earlier than I was planning on, and it is wonderful. The paint job was by no means "rushed". The lines look great and were hand applied, the team cleaned up when they were done, and they offered to come back over the next couple days if I notice anything that needs a touch up, which I honestly didn't see the need for. They did a great job and the house looks new! On top of payment, they asked if I wouldn't mind writing a review, so here I am. Would definitely recommend. read more
