No place is perfect and every once in a while I've had tk really press in against a provider who tried to take shortcuts instead of address g the underlying issue. Till one day, I just couldn't take it anymore and came to VALB for mental help. Dr. Smita asked me some questions that day and handed me over to Physician Assistant Sue Tin for follow-up care. I had a video appointment with Sue Tin. I told her that a year after I returned from Iraq in 2007, traumatic thoughts kept reappearing, making me angry, and it kept getting worse and worse. She said it's an anger issue and put me on Quetiapine, which didn't do anything but made me sleep, and woke up feeling tired and drugged up. Then I had an appointment with a senior Psychologist Dr. James Edward. Before the appointment, I had to take a test, but I didn't know what the test was for. I was shocked when Dr. Edward told me that I have severe symptoms of PTSD. I argue with him, saying that it's impossible for me to have PTSD because I was never in any combat. So I went through 6 weeks of group therapy and left the program. One day, a childhood friend of mine noticed that I had changed a lot ever since I returned from Iraq and told me about non-combat PTSD. I applied, was carefully examined by a VA doctor, and was awarded 70% compensation. HOW MANY MORE MENTALLY WOUNDED VETERANS WILL SUE TIN BE ALLOWED TO JUST DISSMISSED AND LEFT TO DIE HOMELESS ON THE STREET? SHE NEVER SERVED A DAY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. WE DID, AND WHEN WE WERE ABOUT TO BLOW OUR OWN BRAIN OUT FROM TRAUMATIC THOUGHTS REAPPEARING AND CAME TO VA HOSPITAL FOR HELP, WE GOT SOME SH### LIKE SUE TIN.

They pack 4 patients per room which I have never seen before. There's zero privacy and yet they'd rather have you crap in a bucket than help you to the restroom. Her sheets got dirty at one point and remained that way for days. My mom is a vegetarian which was listed right on the food paperwork yet every meal for 11 days included meat except two times. Every time she'd complain it would take forever to get a vegetarian replacement. They left her in bed for 11 days with a person coming once a day to walk back and forth for a few minutes. She desperately needed to increase her strength but they just left her there to wither away in bed. Due to paperwork issues she was stuck. They wouldn't release her home and couldn't get her into a nursing home for days. After 11 days they sent her to a nursing home that kept her another 8 days in bed. By the time my dad took my mom home she didn't have the strength to move on her own. Their diagnosis and treatments didn't match what her primary doctor diagnosed once out. Luckily once back home my mom's doctor got her in home therapy 4 days a week. It's been 1.5 weeks and she's already making positive progress. It's sad to see how understaffed hospitals are these days given the insane prices they charge. On a positive note all the staff was extremely friendly. The physical therapist had a gift so it's a shame she can't spend more time per patient. This hospital really makes me appreciate the hospital we go to in Fountain Valley

But to my surprise, I was in and out of here in less than 30 mins! I came in around 1:40pm on a Wednesday, and was done by 2pm! The lady at the front desk was helpful and quick; I just had to fill out a couple forms and then was quickly called in to do the drug screening. Then I was free to go! In regards to the many past reviews about this place being dirty, I did not see anything dirty about this place at all. It was clean and professional. I may have just been lucky to get what I needed done quickly, but I honestly don't think this place deserves such a low rating!

I arrived at 11:15 AM and waited nearly two hours before being called for a urine sample at 12:50 PM--only after I raised concerns about the extended wait and needing to use the restroom. I was then told I would be next for the physical exam, yet I was never called. After waiting until 2:15 PM, I had to leave. During my visit, several individuals who arrived after me were seen before I was. When I asked about rescheduling with an appointment to avoid another long wait, I was told the location accepts walk-ins only, despite staff mentioning that some individuals are prioritized. The process felt disorganized and inconsiderate of patients' time. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location and would encourage others to consider alternative clinics. If I could give zero stars, they deserve it.
