We found that this farm fit the bill, with different pick-your-own options depending on season. Apple season had just started, so we headed on over. We first went into the small shop, where we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man. He explained how to determine which fruit was ready for picking, and sent us off with our bags to fill. The rows are well-marked, and I was thrilled to see that my favorite apple -- honey crisps -- were ripe and ready for picking. The farm has a large variety of apples -- golden delicious, gala, sweet surprise, ambrosia, etc. -- though not all were yet ripe. The trees were producing a lot of fruit, all of which was easy to reach, so our bags were filled in no time. We returned to the market, where we purchased quite a lot of additional fruits (peaches) and vegetables (okra, giant Marconi peppers, sweet banana peppers, green onions, and eggplant). They also sell other farm-fresh produce and eggs. There are also handmade wooden ornaments for sale. We didn't taste our haul until returning home -- both the peaches and apples taste amazing. Crisp and sweet. Fresh off the tree DOES make a difference! We haven't tasted the vegetables yet. -5-stars for food quality. -5 stars for staff. The gentleman in the store was very engaging, patiently answering a ton of our questions about the farm and its products. -5 stars for value. The prices are competitive with local grocery stores, but you're getting fresher products. -1 star for location. LOL. The farm is two hours away from our home! I wish it were closer to us. We would definitely be regulars there if it were! Seriously though, the location is easy to find, and convenient from Harrisonburg or Massanutten.

If it's your first time here you may want to drive around before you park. Depending on what type of apples you're aiming for you may want to drive closer as it's an incline up. You pay for your apples at the store. There you can find pies, apple cider, bread, canned goodies and they also sell meats. The apple season began a month ago and most of the apple trees were picked at height level. We used an apple picker to get the apples high up. It was a beautiful, clear day ; about 80 degrees. Watch your ankles as the ground is uneven and there can be a lot of apples on the ground under and near the trees. There were other vendors near the store and portable toilets throughout the property. We are hoping to pick peaches next season!

Green Truck Farm did not disappoint! We were greeted by rows and rows of black raspberries, which I had never experienced before, but taste like a more flavor-packed version of raspberries. After we had our fill of black raspberries, we walked over to the blueberries and picked our hearts out. Advice: -Black raspberries tend to sell out first so start there if you're planning to pick at both places. -Subscribe to Green Truck Farm on Facebook for the latest updates about ripeness. -Visit their cousins down the road at Hartland Orchard for other fruit (cherries, peaches, apples).

We went the last week of May and there were still hundreds of strawberries to pick from! When you first enter the orchard/farm they give you a box that contains 6 of the strawberry holders. When we went in May 2021, they were around $4.99/lb. You have rows and rows of strawberries to pick from that are spread out nicely enough that it was easy to avoid people who didn't wear masks. The process was easy and the strawberries were delicious! My family and I demolished 6 boxes in less than a week.

I'm so glad we have a Buc-ee's in VA! i'm going to have to start another savings account just so i can buy more stuff. i bought way too much from here. the food, snacks, candy, bakery, desserts, drinks, etc. are all on point. prices are incredibly reasonable. employees are amazing, they do such a great job working as a team and keeping this huge place clean, organized, and moving smoothly. the restrooms are great too, spacious and clean with plenty of toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels. I did not wake up today knowing I'd be leaving a one star rating at a beloved American institution…read more Long road trip and I just wanted a banana - something fresh to cleanse my pallet, instead of salty or sugary. Knew that we were going to stop at Buc-ee's, bc of course. They have a basket of bananas, and I picked a pristine one if not *slightly* green at the neck. Check out. $0.55. We walked 45 feet out the adjacent exit and ate the banana right outside the slider door so I didn't have to have an empty banana peel stuffed somewhere in the car for the next several hours. It was black to the core on the inside halfway down the banana, like the kind of black you don't keep eating, not just a surface bruise. Since it was clearly bad and it was ONE MINUTE after I bought the banana, I figured they'd be like - no problem, we'll make it right, it's a $0.55 banana. So we walked right back to the same cashier who had sold us that single banana one minute prior and showed him the black banana and asked if I could just get a replacement banana and he said it was too late. One minute, black banana, same guy. $0.55! So yeah, that's absolutely nuts. Do better, Buc-ees. That's really messed up. I was really looking forward to a banana.
