This place has everything you need From outdoor gardening, construction/home improvement, pet supplies etc. Walked in for the first time a couple days ago to grab a few item and was immediately greeted and assisted from the front door, throughout the store, and as soon as I walked downstairs! Has everything you need from a hardware store. BUT what really stands out is how phenomenal and kind the staff are. Had to stop by two times this week and was greeted by a kind worker who always was willing to point me in the direction needed. Will definitely be coming back for my hardware needs. This place is a plant parent's dream!! Such amazing deals on plants (I got a large audrey ficus today for $75) plus they offer a great shopper's experience. The staff is so friendly and the cashier was SO knowledgeable about plants -- she gave great advice on which to get. She even wrapped it up for me and helped me carry my items to the car. I bought the wrong cable and was going to eat the cost. I went back to purchase the right one and the clerk said that he would return the wrong cable. When I go out of my way to return with the wrong cable the guy I spoke to is gone and the person I spoke to the second time unequivocally would not take the cable back, regardless of just being told I could. Didn't get the first guys name. Decent selection for being right in the city, can't abide wasting my time. I guess if you're absolutely sure you're getting what you need this place is fine, but I was either lied to the first or second time and I won't be back. We're building an office a block away and I'll drive the 6 miles to home depot. read more

What a great neighborhood hardware store. It's always a pleasure to stop by, the Staff are extremely nice and the shop is always super clean and well organized. Very easy to find things among the aisles. It does not look that big from the outside, but it is surprisingly large inside, with a second level! One of the nicest hardware stores I have ever been. They offer free freshly popped popcorn and a coffee to the customers. Wonderful! They offer seasonal decorations, pumpkins during fall and trees during Xmas. Always felt I was a pretty loyal customer here. I live 1 block away from this store. I bought a plant and after reading about it on my way home I realized it wasn't going to grow the way I had expected. I called Woods Hardware and they won't accept plant returns (which is understandable) but I had literally just left the store. Even stranger, I'm pretty sure this was the first time I ever asked about their return policy and they never mentioned that plants were non-refundable. read more

I try to frequent family owned businesses, rather than big box stores and I've been a customer since they opened. I frequently shop there on my lunch hour. I've never had any issues until day. I stopped by around 10:30 on a weekday to buy some paint. I waited at the unattended paint counter and, even though at least two employees saw me waiting, not one acknowledged my existence. I know everyone is short-staffed these days, but a simple "someone will be right with you" would have been appreciated. I headed to the front of the store and I asked the cashier if anyone was working in the paint department. She said that they were just very busy. No, it was 10:30 on a weekday and there were only a handful of people in the store. She very begrudgingly said that she could help me, but her attitude suggested that she really didn't want to. I told her I'd just go to another store. I went to Small's Tru Value in Cheviot, where I received great customer service and they didn't make me feel that my presence was an inconvenience. I spent $300+ on paint and supplies, and this is now my go to hardware store. read more

If you are handicapped or have mobility issues give this store a pass. Narrow aisles, lots of steps, and no ramps. They do have an elevator, but it's behind an emergency exit that a staff person has to unlock for you. On the day I tried to use it, at first it wouldn't go anywhere, then it didn't want to open. The staffer who finally came to let me out of this secured area after I was beating on the day, once I did get out of the elevator, merely said it must not be working. read more
