We've visited this establishment before but wanted to post about it. Last night we had dinner at Woodside Bistro in West Greenville. This hidden gem is also a #BOB !! Located on the Woodside Mill property this quaint spot has both indoor and out door seating available. Husband ordered ribs, fingerling potatoes, and collard greens. I ordered the salmon, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Along with the various items on their lunch and dinner menus, they feature the artwork of local artists on their walls. Had a takeout lunch ordered from work. Arugula salad at $11 was a disappointment. All that was there was a bed of greens on a ... well, bed of greens. Beets, feta and apples were an afterthought. Have seen better side salads. Falafels at $5 add on were ok, nothing to write home about. Very underwhelming. Not going there again! read more

Want to avoid going downtown, trying to find a parking spot, waiting for a table, etc? This is the spot, a hidden gem right in west Greenville. Ambiance is very casual but still nice, also has a great little outdoor patio. The bartenders are amazing, some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Awesome happy hours throughout the week as well. We haven't had a let down on the menu yet, everything has been really solid and well prepared. So far we've tried the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken, chicken pesto brunch sandwich, truffle fries, Korean bbq wings, cavatappi pasta, the filet, and a caramel crunch cake dessert. It was our first time visiting on Mother's Day. We were only a party of 3. Not sure if they were short staffed or what but the service was not good. The hostess did not show us to our table just pointed & said "it's over there." We were seated 20 min before we received waters... the only waters we would receive despite being there 2.5 hrs. We asked for more water multiple times. After being seated for 30 min we received our drinks. It took another 30 min before she came back & took our food order. It is a pretty limited menu to begin with. Our reservation was for 12:30 & they were already out of the chicken & waffles (what we wanted.) I ordered a 2nd drink & it took equally as long. So for 3 meals, 2 sodas & 2 mimosas it took 2.5 hrs. read more

Hey, this place is excellent!, wife and I were very glad to Finally get out to the new location at Woodside Mill! Before I begin, it's a small thing, but it's really easy parking at the mill. I didn't exactly know what to expect, but it's really easy. This place is great, I strongly recommend it and will be coming back as often as I can. The vibe is casual and yet, somehow also upscale. The ambiance is great, and most importantly, the people working there are great. We sat at the bar ordering drinks and food for a couple hours, and had amazing friendly service the whole time. Shoutout to Eric the bartender, who is as friendly as amazing at making drinks. I want to come back for happy hour, which looked really good. Also, he let us sample wines and such we hadn't seen before, such a nice touch Quite simply, the food was excellent, tons of actually great vegan and normal food alike. Our favorite things were the cocktails, which were amazing, the mains, and the vegan dessert (which is pictured). Lastly, the value for what you get is really good. Our first visit in the new location and it's phenomenal. The reason for less than 5 stars is because of the NOISE level. The overall ambience would DEFINITELY benefit from some acoustic buffers--cloth covered ceiling panels; fabric wall hangings, etc. But the food!! Holy cow. Outstanding!! We selected the already tested and approved Fried Green Tomatoes and the Wedge Salad. Then we selected the Charcuterie for 2! Excellently done. So many temperatures, textures, flavors. A taste treat with every bite. And an excellent selection of wines and beers. The staff was warm and welcoming; there is ample free parking; the outdoor lighting is perfect. I had brunch today with two of my siblings and two of my nieces. It was a group choice to try Woodside Bistro. It's located in west Greenville at the old Woodside Mill, that has also been turned into lofts. There are plenty of places to park, depending on what time you go. People that live at the lofts share the same parking lot. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, and brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. You seat yourself when you go in, high ceilings, concrete floors, rustic looking tables with chairs, booths, and tables with seats and a booth together, booths could use some padded seats. A nice sized full bar with stools was on one side of the restaurant, and some really nice art work was on the walls. After looking at the menu I decided on the Woodstar, it comes with two eggs(your way), bacon or sausage, grits or fruit. I got my eggs scrambled, bacon and lemonade to drink. The pancake was ok, it had slightly salty taste to it, the bacon was crispy. The grits weren't runny, but they were lumpy, with lumps that had stuck to the pot(I cook grits and know what that looks like and how to keep it from happening). The brunch entrees are $15.00, the total cost of my meal was $19.38, there is a 4% charge for using a card as payment. Nice atmosphere the server was very friendly, but the food was only ok to me, just standard breakfast food, it was nice to spend time with family. read more

My wife and I decided to try this place late on a Saturday afternoon. After following the directions into the Woodside Mill there were no directions to the actual restaurant which is in the cluster of mill buildings. As we entered we were greeted by a hostess who seemed more interested in her phone than in us. We chose a spot at the bar which wasn't all that crowded. The volume level in the building between the boom box on the back bar and all the concrete walls and ceiling made conversation difficult. The bartender was busy with a conversation with another person behind the bar and paid no attention to us, so after about 5 minutes we got up and left. I don't think anyone working there even noticed. Needles to say we didn't sample the food or drinks, but we won't be back. read more

A compilation of the two trips it took to have one lunch at Woodside Bistro. A few weeks back we tried for a Friday lunch and pulled up to find the place locked up- no sign, just closed. Called to make sure they were open this time, and the person said they're "never closed on Friday unless we run out of food". So, it's one thing to cause an inconvenience, and another to deny it. Today's visit would have been four stars on its own. I had the French Dip (Braised Short Rib, Caramelized Onions, Havarti Cheese, A1 Aioli, Grilled Hoagie- $16) because I'd heard from several folks how good it is. Meat was cooked perfectly, juicy and quite flavorful. Beware if you don't like a lot of sodium, the au jus is quite salty. Both of my colleagues had the Club Salad (Ham, Turkey, Boiled Egg, Bacon, Cucumber, Tomato, Cheddar Cheese- $18), one with iceberg lettuce due to a spinach sensitivity. He commented that the quantity of protein was half of what it had been on a previous visit. The restaurant is located on the back side of the mill, with parking on both sides, but not immediately adjacent to the restaurant. We'll certainly be back to give it another go. read more

We were underwhelmed by our meal, especially for the price. One appetizer and two entrees with no drinks or dessert came out to over $120. The vibe is extremely casual given the price point and they have done away with the vegan menu (but not updated their website). We had hoped for a special anniversary meal but left feeling fairly disappointed. None of our items were bad but certainly not spectacular. My husbands steak was under seasoned and my vegan special was two premade chick patties over a mountain of rice with some sauce and a few slices of zucchini as garnish...for over $25. I now have a part-time job delivering to restaurants and bars. After my first delivery to the Bistro I put it on my todo list. Six of us visited on a Saturday night. Place was busy but had a good table available. Interesting drink selections including house made tonic with a green tint. We shared three appetizers; cauliflower, fried green tomatoes and a brined watermelon sushi. Excellent. We had six different entrees. My shrimp & grits were a little different from most but very good and a nice portion. The steak was a perfect med rare. The cod, chicken and salmon got good reviews. Being an old fart I am not too big on tattoos and piercings when dining. It is just me. Our server was so pleasant and engaging that it was easy to look past that the artwork and see the great job she was doing. Will definitely return and ask for same server. read more

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to give this place an amazing thumbs up! The food was wonderful- lots of options for both plant-based and meat eaters. I would say it's a creative combination of soul food mixed with modern trends and they have taken some classics and elevated/updated them. The bar was great- they have house made simple syrups etc and a great selection of cocktails. Also, our server Matt was super friendly and helpful and gave us an awesome experience. We will definitely be coming back! (The reviews that stated it was too loud- I'm not seeing that as an issue- of course it has the normal hustle and bustle of a restaurant mixed with lots of happy patrons, but by no means did it bother us. I am so upset about this experience. I had been following Woodside Bistro for months on Instagram. So when asked where I wanted to go for birthday dinner I said here. Well we walk in and no one is there to greet you and there's a sign pushed off to the side saying seat yourself. Well we sat down waited about five minutes and I'm guessing the host came over and filled our waters. Then another five minutes to get the menus sat on the table. Then the host comes over to tell us our server might be awhile because she's fixing the computer system as it wasn't working. We asked if we could order drinks at least and were told no. Finally our server comes over doesn't apologize for the wait or anything and asks us what drinks we would like. My fiancé wanted an old fashioned but did not want it from the tap and requested one be made with a different type of whiskey. The server proceeds to come back over forcing my fiancé to try the tap version of an old fashioned because I'm assuming the bartender was offended he actually had to work. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and 30 minutes went by and we received nothing. Needless to say we walked out and whoever owns this establishment should be embarrassed at your extremely slow and rude service. read more

Our server Cory was great and so was the rest of the staff. After that I would not recommend this place. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken tasted great but was super dry. My waffle was not only over cooked but half was burnt. I asked for my eggs to be done over easy and they were hard and the yolk was broken on one of the eggs.
