Great location, easy parking, tons of tables, fun vibe. The menu seems to change seasonally and they have options for everyone. We had a large party and they accommodated easily with two servers for the whole group. The atmosphere is great, I love the decor and the polished-casual vibe. The bar is so cool (that sliding ladder is what dreams are made of), lots of TVs to watch the game without messing up the chic decor. Indoor and outdoor seating and the bar opens up to the outdoors. The staff is very knowledgeable about their offerings, particularly the tequila. However, a dirty martini is maybe not the bartender's specialty. I was asked if I wanted it dirty, extra dirty, or "nasty." I said just a little bit dirty. It came "nasty." Womp womp. But they do have blue cheese olives, which is a huge plus! The oysters are delicious. Our group got 4 dozen. However, on one of the trays, almost all the ice was melted by the time it reached our table. Also both times I've been, they forget to put little spoons in the sauces that come with the oysters, but they never forget the crackers! For the rest of our meal, I got the shrimp and grits, my partner got the tuna poke bowl, and we split a Caesar salad. My shrimp and grits were delicious, tons of shrimp, nice presentation. Tuna poke bowl was good and the soy sauce was a nice addition. I love a Caesar salad, and the flavors on this one were great, though it was served on a very warm plate which was weird for a salad. Overall, STIR has so much going for it. I really, really want to love this restaurant, but every time I go it's missed the mark on some small but important things. We recently tried STIR in downtown Greenville for the first time, and it did not disappoint! I went with my son, sister, and daughter-in-law, and none of us had been before. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The ambience has a fun, upscale vibe without feeling stuffy. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The food was excellent overall. My son definitely won the night with the lobster mac & cheese -- absolutely delicious and the standout dish at our table. My daughter-in-law ordered the fried mahi bowl and wasn't overly fond of it, but it was still thoughtfully prepared and clearly high-quality, upscale food. First time here tonight with Friends and Family. I just have to tell you and everyone, if you haven't been to STIR yet you need to go. It's a new restaurant downtown Greenville across from Spring Street garage and oh my gosh the restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. The staff is wonderful. The food is absolutely delicious. I had ordered the grilled salmon best piece of salmon I have ever put in my mouth. It was absolutely phenomenal. My daughter had gotten the tuna it was so beautiful, it looked almost like a steak and it was delicious. We also had the steamed oysters, delicious fresh . Not hard or soggy, just perfect. My husband had the mahi mahi bowl, he was absolutely floored it taste so good my friend got the season special crab she said it was amazing not dry , just perfect . Anyway everything was delicious. Everything looked scrumptious. It was definitely spot on hands-down. This is probably one of the best restaurants in Greenville that has the most scrumptious and delectable foods ever. People that came in after us had 1:30 to 1:45pm wait. The bar is first come first serve but we didn't want to sit at the bar. I don't really drink but they had a nice selection of drinks and cocktails. Hubby ordered chicken and waffles and I ordered the country breakfast. The food was very good! Another perk is that they have a food bar with pastries, and fruit that comes along with your entree!! Over all we enjoyed it. Friday night in Greenville, we were looking for a lively spot with a fun atmosphere and decided to finally give Stir a try after passing by it several times. At first glance, it seemed like the perfect choice -- great indoor/outdoor bar setup, energetic vibe, and a busy crowd that made it feel promising. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. While the food presentation looked nice, the actual food was incredibly disappointing. Service was also very slow, and we overheard a staff member mention that the kitchen is too small and can only handle a limited number of orders at a time, which seemed to explain the delays. We ordered a burger and fries, requesting no sauce -- just cheese -- but it came out fully loaded anyway, and the flavor was just odd. I also ordered the spring trio, which included six oysters. They were the grittiest oysters I've ever had, completely flavorless, and the only appealing part was the toppings they used to try to cover them up. The sesame steak bowl looked great when it arrived, but honestly, it was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. It's disappointing because the vibe and atmosphere here are much better than the food or overall experience. I walked in for lunch at 1:30 in the afternoon, after finally finding a 2 hr parking spot. The bar area was crowded, and there were a few parties of 6, but otherwise mostly 2 tops. Service or the lack thereof was my greatest disappointment. I looked at a menu for 10 minutes before a disinterested server begrudgingly explained the menu to me. I had to break it to her that In the 10 minutes I'd been waiting for her, I had made my choice. I ordered the Steak Frites. My second disappointment. The fries were cold and soggy, swimming in an excess of spicy "house steak sauce". The meat was flavorless, which probably explains why it too was swimming in sauce. I then had to flag down the kitchen manager to ask for my server...and then I had to ask another server for the check and a to go box. When my server finally brought it to me, I had my coat on to walk out the door. $35 for a crappy, cold lunch. I won't be going back to STIR Greenville, or recommending to anyone else. Go elsewhere! We ate at Stir last night our reservation was at 7:45pm. We were seated at 8 and experienced the slowest service and most underrated food. The roasted oysters were cold, it took1 hour and 20 mins to get out appetizers and then 25 mins for the dinner plates, My filet had zero flavor. I mean zero. The staff is wonderful, the hosts were sweet and courteous, our server was friendly and attentive, a different server ran our food to our table and she was super sweet. My wife had the coffee and it was coffee, nothing too crazy. I had the pineapple mimosa and it was good, but I've never met a mimosa that I didn't like. We got the deviled eggs, and they were decent (we definitely had our favorites...the pickle and avocado). My wife had the country breakfast with fruit. she really enjoyed the fruit. She compared the eggs and bacon to hotel style brunch. The biscuits are beautiful and delicious. I ordered the shrimp and crab Benedict and added a side of asparagus. This was one of the worst experiences I have had in Greenville. The service was so slow! It took forever to get each drink we ordered. Maybe 20 minutes per drink. The largest issue was our dinner. After waiting for over an hour the manager came to our table and said our ticket was lost and they would give us free dessert for our trouble. We waited another 20 minutes and the food finally came. My steak was supposed to be medium and was beyond well done. I chocked the flavorless dry meat down because I did not want to wait another hour. The food was all bland and not worth the price. After we ate we ordered our "free" chocolate cake. After waiting 30 minutes and still no cake, we told the waiter forget about it and just give us the check. No offer of to go dessert, no discount. No follow up from the manager. I will never ever go back to this place. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost. So many better places in Greenville. Walked a good ways to get to Stir. It's an attractive place w a nice bar. Ordered the lobster cake entree, which I was told is bigger cakes than the appetizer lobster cake. It came out (see pic) and I was taken aback how small the cakes were. That said. the flavor was on point and I enjoyed them. For $34, I expect better sides. The asparagus was well prepared and tasty.. Their just wasn't much of it. The side salad is useless and tasteless. Wine was good. Beer selection meh, but draft prices were good.
