Went in because my check engine light came on. Instead of actually diagnosing and fixing the problem they cleared the codes, told me they had no idea what was wrong with it, charged me a diagnostic fee (which is especially ironic since they couldn't diagnose it) and told me to come back if the light came back on again. As expected, two weeks later the check engine light is back on and I'm sure as heck not going back to this rip off shop. read more

Car died at Home Depot, had it towed to Woodys where they diagnosed bad starter and replaced. Everything was fine for a few days then the same issues arose, dead car. Called Woodys who came down to my house and towed asap. They called me to tell me that one of the wires on the starter fell off it's connection and was promptly fixed with no charge. Now you may say, "what's the big issue?", they could have told me anything other than the wire falling off it's connection and charged me for another repair but they owned up to the issue being their fault. That's the kind of place that I will continue to do business. read more

Fixed my car after a small fender bender. Can't tell any work has been done at all. Wasn't the least expensive estimate but right in the middle. The less expensive shop estimate was scribbled on blank paper. Woody's provided an itemized estimate down to the half hour of labor required for each step in the repair. I would use them again. Because I drive 65 miles to work both ways, It is important to have a reliable vehicle and a reliable mechanic. I used to use lube shops and discount tire stores for convenience and Woody's for everything else, but have been burnt by inconsistent workmanship in most of these large chain franchises shops. Woody's is top notch. I will never take a car anywhere else. I am always a skeptic when it comes to mechanics. I have been ripped off and I have been to great mechanics. Woody's falls into that latter category. My first visit here was with my Durano this winter. I got it stuck in deep snow in the driveway during the big storm and blew out my power steering pump. I took it to Woody's and they replaced the pump, quickly and for a really fair price. About 4 months later, I noticed that the steering was tight or non-existent at a stop and I was also leaking oil from the front differential. I took it in and they let me know the power steering was leaking, but would be no charge as covered under their warranty on the work and fixing the front differential leak was done quick. This shop is so awesome, that when they called around 5pm to give me the cost of the repair, they offered to do the repair that'd take about an hour and a half that night. I wasn't in a rush as this is our second vehicle and told them not to worry, I would grab it in the morning. The mechanic I spke with said, "no problem, it'll be ready in the morning any time after 9:30am." I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a great auto shop. I unfortunately did not have a good experience using Woody's to fix an issue on my car. The repair came in over estimate, took twice as long to fix as estimated, and in the end the repair was unsuccessful and I had to take the car to another shop to get it fixed properly. Also, the shop never once called me back to give me an update on the repair or even to inform me on what the initial issue was. I feel that if I didn't keep calling them back that the car would still be in the lot waiting for the parts to be ordered. The people there seem very nice but unfortunately I cannot recommend them due to this experience. read more

They reviewed the car after a short 10 minute wait and did an incredibly thorough job. They explained all of the defects they noticed, and what the implications would be to me if I owned the car. My son was in an accident and his car was towed to Woody's. The repairs took a week longer than expected but they kept me informed every step of the way! When I picked it up and got it home (Lowell, MA) it started steaming and leaking antifreeze. I immediately called. Russell personally picked it up with the tow truck. After he diagnosed the problem, which didn't require any work, he delivered the car back to me! I don't know of any other garage that would do that! They did an amazing job! I used to live in Pelham and used this shop more out of convenience than any other reason and I got the impression other people in Pelham do also... just read between the lines of other reviews posted on Yelp. Because of this, they use this as a license to perform expensive, slipshod work on occasion and act like they're doing you a favor in the process. Because it is a small, family run business with limited facilities and not much local competition, they can only handle so much work at any given time. If your vehicle breaks down outside their shop, you could do worse than have it repaired there, just don't be in a hurry because they might not get to it for a week. My experience with the cost of repairs made there isn't cheap... I would say they would charge slightly above average. If you have to use Woody's in a pinch for any reason, you could do worse I guess, yet I quickly learned that there are other shops around in Nashua and Salem that were cheaper and did repairs more quickly. read more
