I had some undercoating work done on my SUV at Ataboy's this past fall. I was more than happy with the quote and more than happy with the work that was done. I dealt with the owner, Alain himself. Before I went there I started reading the reviews that were sent in by other customers and after 20 minutes I started skimming through them and soon realized I didn't have the whole hour that it might take me to read them all. Seriously. I skimmed through most of them and saw that a lot of the reviews were sent in by women that were in a bind and needed the work done quickly, and therefore could have easily been taken advantage of. Having a car or truck break down is a very stressful experience for anyone as it is but Ataboys takes a lot of the pain away by treating customers more than fair in not only my opinion but the opinions of a lot of other customers as well. In my experience in dealing with repair shops in the past 40 + years I found that Ataboy's is the exception to the rule. Almost all garages I ran across over the years never hesitated to take advantage of women that came in without a man or at least someone that made sure they were not taken advantage of. Almost all of these other garages overcharged for parts and labor and a lot of times did work that was not needed. In today's day and age when so many entitled Americans are very quick to bash businesses online for no good reason other than the fact that they are miserable, its nice to see that so many of Ataboys customers actually took the time to share their experiences on the website. It takes as much time to praise as it does to criticize. So many of us today have our very own stress that we have to carry around and deal with every day, who needs unfair extra stuff thrown at us? Again it was nice to see that so many of these good reviews were sent in by women that could have easily been taken advantage of. My wife and I have spent a good portion of our lives dealing with the public and sadly to say most people are very quick to complain loudly to anyone who will listen when they think they have been wronged but rarely give a pat on the back when things were done right. I am here to tell anyone who will listen that Ataboys is as honest a repair shop and used car dealer that you will ever find. Consider me a very satisfied customer, and as for any customer of Ataboy's that legitimately isn't happy for any reason I can assure you that if you take it up with Alain, the owner, he will bend over backwards to make things right. Four stars for Ataboys **** Car guru: Alain (Allen) of Ataboys is honest, respectful, highly skilled, professional and goes above and beyond the call of duty. I searched for transmission specialists throughout the Manchester area; most of them wanted $50.00 - $150.00 just to diagnose the engine light code! Unbelievable. I did some research and I found a couple of great reviews on the Internet from customers who praised Allen of Ataboys, so I called him. Allen checked out my vehicle AT NO COST which earned him instant trust and respect in my book, especially being a female. He made an appointment to change the transmission fluid and clean the filter. When Allen makes an appointment for a specific time, he sticks to it! This guy has incredible time management skills. How many of you have had to wait more than an hour beyond the scheduled appointment time at other shops? I know I have. He gave me a price and he stuck to it. He also offers a 10% discount if you visit his website; no other shop that I am aware of offers this discount. I am now a paying customer and a very satisfied one at that! I LOVE this place. Alain and Rain are wonderful people who make you feel like family. Alain provides exceptional work and is very trustworthy and honest. I recently acquired a second hand car and I didn't know when the last time the the transmission fluid was flushed so I had him do it while I went in for an oil change. Alain began to drain it and it was clean so he stopped. Alain showed me the transmission fluid and how clean it was and we decided together that I didn't really need the service at this time. I was very impressed because if it was at another auto mechanic shop they would have just continued to change it even though it wasn't necessary and then charge me for it because I had already agreed. I would have never known either way. I am very happy that I found this place. Alain will be my mechanic for as long as I live in Manchester and I recommend him to all of my friends. I went to Ataboys because of all their Great Reviews on Yelp. I went for my inspection sticker which I had been told by Autofair Subaru that it would Fail because my breaks were so bad. Guess what happened? It Passed the Inspection!! Alain asked me why I thought it would fail so I told him. He went back to check the breaks again and told me that I will have to have them done at some point but they are perfectly fine now. His quote was $1200 Less than other place. I can tell you how refreshing it is to find an Honest Mechanic who actually doesn't charge a Ridiculous price. He also advised me that for my car, my timing belt and water pump would have to be done within the next 10,000 miles. I really appreciated him letting me know that because I had no clue. I am entirely Happy with the Professionalism of Alain and his great prices and knowledge. Great customer service is difficult to find these days but Ataboys provides that and so much More! 1/20/16 I'd known I needed to replace the heater core in my car since mid-summer and put it off until it became an actual problem. Being new to the area, I'd gone out some time ago for quotes throughout the Concord, NH shops - all of which came back between $1,000-$1,100 and half a week of repair time. My long-time mechanic in MA quoted it at ~$800 but, my car (2005 Jeep) wouldn't have survived the trip. I called up Ataboys that day for a price and time schedule. Alain was straightforward and gave me a ball park cost lower than all of the others, saying it would take a few days to repair. I dropped the car off before a weekend trip and received a call mid-day on Saturday that the car was ready (a little over 24 hours after it was dropped off). The actual cost was also substantially lower than the quoted cost. Can't say enough about the fantastic quality of service and integrity of Alain/Ataboys; this is how you build/operate a business the right way. read more

Great service, honest advice and fair prices! Went in for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. $95 (very reasonable and slightly less or comparable to Jiffy Lube, etc) with all the fixin's including fluid top offs and tire/brake inspection. You need to make an appointment, but it's quick (20-30mins tops in and out). Owner is on-site and actually working with the rest of the mechanics. He even chatted with me about some questions I had regarding future maintenance and at no time did he ever try to up-sell me...it was genuinely helpful advice. As first impressions go, this was absolutely a refreshing experience. I'll definitely come back and would recommend this small but growing shop to anyone looking for an old-school, non-chain, trustworthy shop, and would highly recommend it for anyone (like myself) who relies on experience and knowledge of professionals to help me further understand the best ways to maximize my new car's lifespan! read more

I usually don't write reviews online, but after today's experience I had to express my satisfaction with the service that I got today from Ataboys. I scheduled a State Inspection online a few days prior, and when I arrived for the Inspection it appeared the online appointment feature was down for the week. They had no idea I was coming (my fault because I should've called to confirm). I offered to come back another time but it wasn't a problem. Keith stopped what he was doing, and immediately took my car to begin the inspection process. The inspection was fast and easy and I was out of there within 30 minutes. Keith was very kind and professional throughout the whole process. I had a minor repair done to my VW GTI and after explaining the issues to a coworker they recommended I check this place out. I am new to the area and was not looking forward to having to bring it back to the dealership and/or hunt down a new garage to go to (horror stories). The car has a lot of miles on it and I just want good work, done by honest straightforward people. The customer service here was some of the best I've received at a garage. They were very professional and they have definitely won me over as a repeat customer. It's been a few weeks (meant to write this review earlier) but I dealt with a younger guy, mid twenties, and I think his name was Ethan, but could very well be wrong. He was a good dude. Came here based on the reviews. Gotta admit, when I pulled up to the shop, I was a bit surprised. THIS is Ataboys? Don't let looks deceive you, folks. The garage may seem a bit smaller than most, but Ataboys is as legit and professional as they come. Alain and co may also be younger than most guys you're used to dealing with, but they're way more professional and honest than most guys twice their age. You're also gonna find a hard time beating their pricing, and throw in the fact that they dont seem to mind you bringing your own parts, and I gotta say you'd be nuts to throw money away anywhere else. I went in because my car was acting funny. I'm new to the area and I don't have a mechanic I trust here. Usually my step dad does all my work on my car. So I found Ataboy's and went based off reviews I found here. I am so glad I did. He was very helpful in explaining what was wrong. He took time to show me what was wrong with my car and he even pulled up information on the computer to help me better understand why I needed my repair. He was honest and trustworthy. I never once felt as if he was trying to upsale me. He got me what I needed, fixed my car in a timely manner and the customer service was great. My car is now running SO MUCH better. As a parent living in Montana and having a son going to school in Manchester, NH, I was pretty concerned about finding an honest mechanic that would not try to take advantage of us. Alain was fantastic when I brought in a used car I was looking to buy for a pre-purchase inspection this past weekend. He put it through the ringer and found a number of important issues that I would not have seen without his help. He went so far as to bring me around into the shop and show me exactly what the issues looked like and how they should look when functioning properly. This gave me the confidence to go back to the dealership to negotiate with them to fix these issues and will save me a lot of money in the long run. Customer Service is fantastic. I am new to the area and we all know how stressful finding an honest mechanic can be. The shop reviews speak for themselves ! I showed up over an hour early for an appointment to have an oil change and they took me right away. I was having a "noise" issue in my front end that was diagnosed FOR FREE. I was brought into the auto bay and shown where my brake pads were completely worn. The gentlemen were so friendly, accommodating and I was able to have a very promising, optimistic outlook on a stressful trip to the mechanic. I scratched my car badly and needed two new doors. I showed them a quote from someone else which was 4000 and told them if they can beat it I will give them the business. The owner, Alain, looked at it and said "that's too much I can't charge that much" and actually quoted it 1000 lower. He even included fixing a scratch from another incident and cleaned up a huge stain on the interior. There was no bait and switch and he did the job as requested. This post is not from the owner. Hi my name is val I'm from Montreal , Canada , I own the 1975 green westfalia vw I broke down literally, I googled all the mechanics in my area after 10 calls of no answer , Alan picked up. This guy is awesome - he is honestly one of the most honest mechanics around. Just like everyone else says - he understands that people don't have money trees out in back yards - he is very reasonable and caring. I once referred a co-worker of mine to him, and after looking at issue and actually troubleshooting vehicle - and rather than him pocketing the money - he took initiative to contact car dealership and found out car just went over mileage by a few miles and convinced dealership to do work on my co-workers car that it was basically still under warranty..... Went in not knowing what was wrong with my car. Finally figured out that I needed a new engine. They were able to give me a quote and have in done in a timely manner. Once it got time to paying they were able to do the job almost $600-$500 under what they originally quoted! It was fantastic and I haven't had any problems since. They have very hard workers who are also very knowledgeable and friendly. I especially like that they show you the damage of the parts they replaced so you know they aren't ripping you off!
