We were staying at an airbnb in the area and wanted to try out one of the local places for dinner! Glad we chose Woody's! We came in about an hour before they closed at 9 PM, which seems so early to me for a Friday night, we totally closed down the place. But they made sure we got our order to the kitchen so we could have dinner. No beer in draft bottles only, but it was okay because they had enough to choose from! Everyone liked their food. But the best thing about it all was the onion rings! I was SO bummed I didn't order them as my side. I don't even like onion rings!! I couldn't stop stealing my husband's. Everyone else has not stopped talking about these perfect onion rings. Probably going to be craving them for a while, hope to make it back here someday and get some! read more

Took a gamble on this place and was pleasantly surprised. Typical small town restaurant/bar atmosphere but I think they go above and beyond what you would expect in regard to food. I thought the menu was decent. I had a patty melt without the bun and husband had the burger. The meat comes from M37 meat shack so it's fresh. The patty melt had yummy, melty cheese and grilled onions and turned out real good. I was especially pleased when I ordered the salad that, while not extravagant, it was real, hand-torn lettuce, not the shortcut bagged lettuce. I also appreciated that they took the effort to include a little side of chip dip with the potato chips that came with the burger (you can get fries if you want). I am eager to try the wood-fired pizza bc they make their own dough and sauce in house, as do they make many things on the menu. They also do many events there so it's a nice little place if you're looking for something to do. Overall, they exceeded my expectations so I'm giving four stars. read more

Woody's is a decent restaurant. The wait time was a little long for food but the day my husband and I went they were packed. The staff was really nice and the other customers were nice too. We had ordered a pizza and it was good. Not the best I've had but it wasn't bad at all. My husband and I are planning on going back and taking our kids for dinner sometime. Definitely one of my top places for fried food though! Overall good experience and I may update the next time we go. read more

Oh my, we almost didn't stop by today on our way home from ORV trail riding because of the few poor reviews. Let me tell you that I'm so glad that I went with my gut instinct because the pizza was the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot of pizzas in my 58 years. The service was over-the-top friendly and efficient from the server to the kitchen. The owner, Daryl (hope I spelled it correctly), was very engaging and genuinely friendly. Talking to us like he knew us for years. This was our first visit and it definitely won't be our last. I highly recommend Woody's to anyone in the area or even within 50 miles from the area because you won't be disappointed. read more

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Great brick oven pizza and friendly environment. Other foods are decent but I would stay away from the salads. This is our go to pizza place but it can get busy on weekends so call in advance if ordering take out pizza or sit at the bar and have a few with the locals while it's being prepared. ZERO stars!!! We waited 45 minutes.... No salad, no appetizer. I finally asked and got them 10 minutes later, then were told that our pizza was made incorrectly. Five minutes later we were told the cook REFUSED to make a new pizza. What!!!??? This place is an unprofessional backwoods hole in the wall!! I almost feel bad posting on this place. It is a complete hole-in-the-wall, so much of a dive you're scared you may get called out for wearing shoes. The bathrooms have skanky photos and posters of the opposite sex, the tables have tacky placemat napkin hybrids, and the bar has patrons who look like the hopped off a Harley in Alabama. So how does a place with concrete for flooring have a wood-fired pizza oven? I don't know how it came about, but these pizzas are the best within a vast area. So much so, I can easily rank these pizzas within the top 3 I have ever had. The dough is handmade and free formed, there are a couple different types of pizza, none of which are bad. Truth be told, I've never ordered anything other than pizza. In fact the rest of the menu isn't even prepared in the same area as the wood fired oven. The place doesn't accept credit, but it does have an ATM. The pizzas are the priciest grub on the menu, but they're worth it. If I want good pizza, I would rather drive the 40 minutes to this dive than have 5 free spanky's pizzas. read more

Everyone raves about this place...it's because it is the only place around. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 15 miles and find something in Big Rapids. If you want to be treated poorly and eat mediocre over-priced pizza this is the place for you.We were greeted with "what do ya want? Think Simple hunny", waited 40 mins for a pizza after having to remind our waitress that we did indeed order pizza then had too wait 15 mins just for the bill and brought it up ourselves. If I was there with a smaller group( we had 4 total) I would've ordered the whole bar a round and walked out on the bill, it really was just awful. I have been here a dozen times and will never come back. read more

Stopped by for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a hidden gem. We had a group and ordered a couple of pizzas, as well as a couple burgers. The burgers were great....served on pretzel buns and very juicy. The pizzas were fantastic. I loved the buttery crust. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the area. read more

We love getting the fried mushrooms for the appetizer and love the pizza! The pizza is made in the wood oven and has the best flavor because of that. I also enjoy their dessert shots! Sometimes they also have ice cream sandwiches. Yummy!! read more

I have eaten pizzas all aorund the world and I have to say that the pizza at Woody's ranks up near the top. I was a little skeptical at first due to the ambience especially since I was visiting Michigan on vacation and knew nothing about the place. I would recomend Woody's pizza to anyone, I know nothing about the rest of the menu though. read more

Amazing place. my family rented a cottage on woodland lake last summer. we arrived to the cottage at about 10:00pm we were all hungry so we went looking for something to eat. the only thing open was Woody's, however by the time we got to Woody's the kitchen was closed. the were kind enough to re-open the fryer and cook use a seven orders of hot wings and fires. we were so thankfull that we gave a $40.00 tip and for the week we were there we ate at least one meal there everyday. read more
