I found out that I called on their last day of business....ever, because the owner was retiring. The owner's daughter referred me to two other shops in the area that her dad trusts, and I really appreciated that. Turned out, her car needed serious attention before driving back to Fort Worth. I was nervous, of course, about going to the only auto shop in a vacation town 1,600 miles from our DC home. The friendly staff put us at ease immediately. And our mechanic, Stuart, fixed a long list of things - from play in the steering wheel to feeble AC - at an unbelievably reasonable price. He explained everything in detail along the way during the two days he had the car. When he called to say it was ready, he added, "your daughter and the little one will get to Fort Worth safely." We FINALLY found a mechanic we can trust. They have been there about 35 years but we only found them about 6 months ago. They are located off Pat Booker Rd near the gates of Randolph Air Force Base. We have had several vehicles in there for preventative maintenance as well as a couple of fixes. I dropped my truck off to have the emergency break repaired and when we got it back they told us that they left the door open and the wind caught it and blew the door into the lift. This caused a VERY small ding/scratch that I probably wouldn't have noticed when I first picked it up. They offered me cash or to have it sent somewhere for repairs. I chose to have it sent for repair and they did an awesome job, I can't even tell where the damage was. The fact that they were HONEST and pointed this accident out to us, really speaks a lot for their honesty. The prices are really fair too. We had some work done on our Toyota and it was less expensive than two other places we checked. Richard and his staff are AWESOME to work with. They are honest, do good work, and don't go out of their way to find "other things" wrong with your car like some mechanics do. The shop is also nice and clean. If you are in the area, make sure you stop by and give them a chance. Tell 'em you found them on Yelp while you are at it! read more

Transmission failure is an expensive nightmare. Industry labor rates are high now and all shops mark up their parts costs to some degree, just to pay their bills and remain viable...but there is markup and their is MARKUP. Richard's price was suitable but not excessive. He clearly explained what should happen with my transmission replacement, before patiently answering all of my questions. His Service Writer, Katherine, kept me updated on the progress. Though I hope I don't need any service soon, I will be a repeat customer at this shop. read more

Richard was recommend to me by a friend over 8 years ago and we've been using him ever since. He is honest, fair, meticulous, and cares about his customers and cars. He knows cars. He also goes above and beyond. When I was deployed to Iraq and my daughter was buying a new car, she brought several to Richard to see if they were mechanically sound. You'd have thought he was looking at cars for his own daughter. He's been taking care of the car she did buy for 3 years. I transferred to Spain 7 months ago and took that car, a 2003 Ford Focus, with me. It started having some issues, so I called Richard. He took the time to listen, research what the indicator light meant, sent me the information I needed to take the local mechanic, as well as some background information on some of the car's quirks. Richard had been doing maintenance on my wife's 2008 Honda Odyssey van since we purchased it . In 2015, the alternator and A/C went out in the same week. We took it to Richard for repair. Due to the high mileage (165,000 miles) and the cost to repair (over $2,500), he recommended that we consider purchasing a replacement vehicle instead of putting more money into a vehicle that may have more issues later on.
