Easily the best smash burger I've ever had. Absolutely delicious!! This place is a 1.3 hour drive and I have a big truck (gas!!) but it's totally worth it. While you are there grab a crispy taco as well!

Smash burgers with fries inside an old-timey gas station under the watchful eye of a bald eagle! Simple menu and friendly counter service. The cooler with beer, wine and soft drinks was a welcome sight after two hours on the road - they even had a $100 bottle of champagne for those so inclined. I ordered my burger with cheese, fresh jalapeños and a Lone Star. Delicious - my only regret was not getting the double patty. Side of fries was big enough for us to share.

We were driving to Denton from SA and maps took us up 281. Didn't realize we went through Hamilton, where my wife spent time with family that lived in the area. Family was hungry and we stopped at Woody's to pick up some burgers in an old gas station by the main square. Besides the girl not understanding our order and repeating a few times, the burgers came out correct. I would recommend their smash burger as we got some singles and Woody's Doubles with their special sauce. I asked for one with the sauce on the side that I would have dipped my fries, but didn't get it. Doesn't matter, as the fries were good on their own.

We stopped here on 02.20.24 for lunch - parking here can be a bit tricky because of the size and layout of the lot, so be careful! The place is the site of an old gas station, and the inside is decorated with cool vintage posters and signs. My woman ordered the Woody's Single and I got the Woody's Double - each done with jalapeños added. For beverages you have local sodas, waters, and lots of beers available. The menu is simple - a few selections of burgers, and fries as a separately ordered side. Our burgers were stupid good. The burgers are smashed - full of flavor and with a juicy texture. They are also simply adorned - the Woody's burgers come with onion, pickles, and Secret Sauce, with options available for extra meat, jalapeños, or cheese. This burger may have cracked my Top 10. It was that good. And the fries - thin and perfectly crispy. Not soft or limp, these russets carried that burger through beautifully. The service was friendly and "down home." We look forward to another visit the next time we head to the Hill Country.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. I would give them five stars for the food and five stars for their interior decor. The burgers were cooked fast, fresh and delicious, the buns were toasted perfectly and the fries were cooked and seasoned just right. The bathrooms were outside, but I consider that a huge plus since the place is fairly small. I will also mention was extremely clean. I will be sure to hit this place anytime I pass through Hamilton on the way to Dallas from San Antonio.

Great restaurant, great staff, and a great stop. The location is right off the town square and inside the restaurant feels like you're in a 1950's burger shop. The food was great and relatively fast.

Good service and very cool vibes! On our roadtrip through town we stopped here to eat. Good, cheap food. Somewhat greasy but that's how home made burgers should be!

We love this place! Absolutely wonderful atmosphere. The burgers are phenomenal! Get the Woody's burger, the sauce is amazing. Truffle fries on the secret menu are our favorite! The staff has been friendly every single time. Can't recommend it enough!

When driving through Hamilton both my hubby and myself were needing some lunch. Found Woodys on Yelp and decided to try it out. Their parking is slim so be mindful of where you park as if you park in the lane towards the restaurant you'll have to look and make sure no one is coming since there could be traffic on either side. Menu is super simple not complicated. We both had the Woodys single burger with secret sauce and fries. The burger is like a smash burger but I really enjoyed the seasoning of it and the sauce was pretty tasty. Beverages available are alcohol, local sodas from Dublin,Tx, tea and other sodas. The service was polite and friendly I felt that my food came out in a decent amount of time. Remember this is not a McDonalds even though it's housed in a historic station. The decor was cool full of old movie posters, local history images and ads. Restrooms are located outside the building, single men's and women's.

While traveling the beautiful backroads of Texas, my hungry colleagues and I stumbled upon the…read moreHorny Toad. Located in the middle of nowhere, in a quiet little sleepy town. Tucked away on a quiet street. Nothing fancy at all about this place. My colleagues and I strolled right in and were greeted promptly by a friendly face. We walked past the bar and were seated right away with. Totally digging the rustic atmosphere and the western decor. We were given menus and drink orders were taken. We perused the menu and drinks were back in good time. Lots of good options on the menu, and a lot of different ways to order a burger. Our friendly waitress was very helpful with lots of other customizations of other orders. (sorry I did not catch her name!) Also quick with a recommendation or witty banter to a couple of smart aleck coworkers of mine. All in good fun of course. I kept it simple. A bacon cheeseburger with mayo and no veggies. I did not chose to upgrade my burger with the "toad bun" and got a side order of tator tots. (That is not a misspelling on my part. That's how they are printed on the menu). After some great conversations with my colleagues, our food arrived in good time. The room got awfully quiet as we got to it. My burger was nothing short of amazing. Very juicy, flavorful, and it did not last long on my plate. Bacon was crispy, cheese was gooey, and all on good bread. Tator tots were crispy and everything a tator tot should be. I did hear some of my colleagues who ordered the "toad bun" say the upgraded bun did not hold up well and did not hold up well to the juicy burger. They said it was tasty, but went soggy fast. So, keep that in mind if you order one. We finished our burgers, and walked up to the front to pay. By this time it was getting busy, and you could see a lot of the "regulars" passing the time with the waitstaff whom were all on a first name basis. Like that, we all were gone in a flash. I was very happy we visited this little hole in the wall joint, and hope to stumble across it again one day. Highly recommend this little jewel if you are in the area. Please drop in and give it a try. You will love it. Enjoy!

Parking on the left side of the house/cafe, walking up the handicap-accessible ramp...the porch itself is a wonder to behold with at least three swings and a few small tables. Current food and drink offerings are posted on an old door propped against a corner by the entry. I was overwhelmed with the flavor combinations, delighted by the branding of the shop, and knew I'd be making a big purchase--not being local and rarely traveling through Hico, TX we had to sample what is on offer from savory to sweet! Hico, TX has a real treasure right here ya'll! Honey lavender latte (seasonal), ham and gruyere muffin, and molasses cookies won the day for me! My partner agreed that of the three items I purchased for him, if only permitted to order one item again, it would be the molasses cookie! Similar to my aunt and grandma's chewy molasses cookie recipe, I was instantly transported to nostalgialand - grandma's kitchen or a ramshackle old cottage we used to reunion at--surrounded by relatives. Every bite filling me with goodness, warmth, and love! This is a spot I would frequent were I local to Hico--proudly sharing this beauty and its offerings with guests and purchasing goodies for office/special gatherings. It's right next door to where the address on the Yelp Page will take you, but it is formerly the "Bakeshop." The staff mentioned to us the former building/house was being renovated to become an AirBnB or something. We were looking forward to patio seating given we had our pup with us, but the restaurant didn't have any, so we opted for drive-thru. The restaurant itself has a small parking lot. The woman who took our order was very kind and informative, as mentioned previously. I ordered an "Iced Latte with White Chocolate" and ordered the "Breakfast Burrito," which contained sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The latte was good, creamy and sweet with the WC flavoring. The burrito was also good, not amazing, but good! I should have ordered 2 of them, it wasn't too big, so keep that in mind. The cheese was melted inside and the sausage was super flavorful. There was a section of my burrito in which the sausage was actually cold, which took me by surprise, but other than that it was good. Pricing was decent for what we ordered. We would come back if we were driving through again!!

Not sure what was in the pitcher, but they were not made by pouring out of a bottle of Zing Zang. You have your proof of concept, now just dress it up. A suggestion on the sound. It was pretty much inaudible upstairs. I could hear that ya'll were talking - just very hard to make out the words. Which was a shame because I really wish I could have made out the Q&A Session better. I saw speakers everywhere - they just were not sending words to me. Not sure if it was better downstairs.

From what I understand the establishment is under New Ownership. Management, from my experience is killing it. The menu has a lot of options and literally everything wa appealing. I'm a Wing guy so that was a given. Big Wings cooked and seasoned perfectly served with what might be the best hand cut Onion Rings I had in a long time. If I remember there were like five flavors and I'm sure there was no bad choice on flavors. There is also a Steakhouse from what I'm told serves a very good Rib Eye. I should also mention the Burgers were said to be the best around. The Bartender Jennifer was very nice and made some tasty Cocktails. They also had a very good selection of Beers and some that seemed to be Texas favorites lol. I had a chance to talk to the Manager Reggie who was a nice guy. He said they have live Music some days. The place was.complete with a Stage and an area for Dancing. He said Ted Nugent was there recently. Definitely it my thing but to each his own. It's off the beaten path but as I said a great place to go to get away for a few Hours. Next time I'm in Fort Worth I'll probably go again. Especially if I find a business that Rents Bikes.
