That was only mentioned once she arrived at my home, after the appointment had already been set. From the beginning of the visit, she seemed annoyed that my puppy was barking and commented that she was "loud." There was no effort to help my puppy feel comfortable or ease her into the grooming process, which is especially important for a young dog's first grooming experience. I also told her that my puppy tends to resist handling and she responded with "too bad". She proceeded to put a neck leash on her and began dragging her when she would not cooperate. I expressed concern about the use of a neck leash and the way she was being pulled, and she responded that my puppy was "fone"and that she "wouldn't strangle herself." Throughout the entire appointment, I was extremely worried about my dog's safety due to the cold, dismissive handling of a very young and anxious puppy. In addition, we were not satisfied with the result. We paid $105, and she did not provide an all over trim which was the entire purpose of booking the appointment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this groomer. A gentle, patient approach and clear communication about services are essential when working with puppies/animals, and neither was provided here.

She responded with genuine kindness and compassion, and even stayed late on a Friday just to fit us in--knowing we wouldn't be regular clients. Not only was she incredibly accommodating, but she also did an amazing job. My pup looked (and smelled!) so much better and clearly felt great afterward. I truly can't say enough about Heather's professionalism, talent, and heart. If you live in the Traverse City area, I highly, highly recommend her!
