Junkyard dog
Seth T.

My first experience at Woofies and i was not disappointed. I had Junkyard dog which consisted of a Chicavo style dog, chili, nacho cheese and bacon. It hit the spot. The wait was short and while i was waiting the place was jamming classic rock and classic pop hits. A throw back in time and this little gem in St. Louis that is worth the visit.

Woofies is a true gem, and if you haven't been here you should give it a try. The first couple times I went there I actually got their burger. It's one of the best smash burgers in Saint Louis for sure. Great flavor and great presentation. This place is an old school hole in the wall and I love it. I heard the guy at the register say it's been open since 1977. I finally gave the Woofie Dog (Chicago style) a try and it blew my mind. I'm not a big hot dog guy and typically only eat one at the ballpark. This dog was amazing and one of the best I've ever had. Now that being said, I appreciate a good old fashioned homemade corn dog. Yum yum it was so good. Their fries are golden, crispy, and delicious too, just the way I prefer them. If you like a good local dive hamburger hotdog joint, you are going to love Woofies!

Can here for the first time and absolutely loved it!! The hotdogs were amazing. Just like I was in Chicago! The red hot link was spicy and tasted good. The burger was crazy good!!! Enjoyed the service. Nice patio to sit outside and eat. And the prices were really reasonable

We don't get there as often as we should. Great people serving excellent fun food! No better hot dog around. Yes, I wish they could have longer hours; but it's always fun and they do not disappoint! .

Okay, so my husband has been talking about Woofie's forever, but we're never over that way. Then one random day, boom--we were nearby, so we finally stopped. And let me tell you... WHEW! One bite and I was mad at myself for waiting this long. Easily one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. The service? A+! The vibe? Like a family reunion with better food. 10/10, highly recommend! If you love a hot dog with that perfect snap--Woofie's is calling your name!

As I look around Woofies. I see that it is historic. There are pictures that plaster the walls of celebrities that has eaten here. The drive thru was full. The parking lot was full. I took the last spot. The service was courteous. Even though it was busy my wait was minimum. The burger was delicious. The fries were great. The seasoning on the fries was awesome. This place has been here many years. I'm so glad I decided to stop in for a bite. I ate inside. I recommend this place to all yelpers.

Hot Roast Beef with Fries

Had a quick opportunity to try Woofies in Overland. I was visiting to try a hotdog but their daily special of a hot roast beef sandwich and fries caught my eye. Got lucky and not too many cars in line. Sandwich was pretty good. Meal came with au jus and ordered a small fries. Fries come seasoned with season salt and were not bad. Pretty decent price for a quick lunch. Good experience and will be back to try their hot dogs.

New York Nathan Dog

I hadn't been to Woofies in like 15+ years and it's still exactly the same. I stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday. I ordered the New York Nathan Style (brown mustard, relish, and kraut) with fries and soda. The hot dog was decent. The toppings were great. The bun to meat ratio was slightly off. The fries were undercooked and terrible. I don't eat a lot of hot dogs but this was decent for a change. I don't think the ketchup was a name brand. Service is friendly and quick. I'd go back if in the neighborhood.

Love the food, everyone is very friendly, can't beat the good pricing. The venue is on the smaller side but there's plenty of seating outside.

Footlong and jumbo fries. Both would feed 2.

Been goiing there for years. The dogs and fries are great but I still feel a little guilty about spending so much for hotdogs.

The restaurant is delightfully unpretentious--not in an ironic way, but in a "our food speaks for itself; sit at a stool or take it to go, we know you'll be back" kind of way. We ordered the tofu BTS, chicken BTS, kimchee, and a cheesy Korean corn dog. I added a side of red gochujang, which paired really well with the tofu, adding a bit more heat to the BTS sauce. The kimchee had a delicious umami aroma, but the flavor itself was a bit blunter in terms of spice. Still very good--just not what you might expect based on the smell, which was also good but different. The Korean corn dog... I'd never had a Korean corn dog before, so this was a new experience for me. At first, I thought it was just a giant, corn-dog-shaped cheese stick, but halfway through you get a bite of Korean hot dog. I might try another one, in my life in general, but I didn't totally fall in love with the actual Korean hotdog part. (Used to be pescatarian, so this might track) I even added ketchup and sugar to part of it as these were the condiments it came with. I didn't think I'd like that combination (sweeter ketchup), but I was pleasantly surprised. I've liked this spot ever since I moved to the area about three years ago. Back then, they only offered chicken and shrimp. Over time, they added some beef dishes, limited vegetable options, ramen, then tofu and Korean corn dogs. However, they no longer serve ramen, beef, or warm vegetable dishes. I really wish they'd add a veggie option again, but they clearly know what they're doing. On past visits, the owners have always been very kind. Tonight was a bit different tho, I'm not sure how long they've been offering homemade chicken dog treats, but they had them as a special tonight. The owner was kind enough to transfer custody of a few to me for my dog. He loved them

The inside has a good amount of seating and a separate area for shabu shabu, so it's well organized. We ordered a ton of dishes to share and everything came out so fast. I was surprised by how fast and friendly the staff was. The jjajangmyeon is vegetarian and this was very similar but just slightly lighter than the Korean one. Still so delicious. The fried tofu is an absolute must order. I don't know how they got it that crispy and crunchy, but it was perfectly flavored too. The grilled tofu was also really good and flavorful. The noodles were great, and we also got the cabbage dish which was a nice balance to some of the heavier, oilier dishes. They offer tea for the table only $1 per person. Overall just a really great experience. It's a bit out of the way and not really surrounded by a lot of other things to do nearby, but worth the trip. Would definitely recommend!

I've had their 3 cup chicken, fried pork chop, other street snacks, braised beef noodle soup. Our recent orders: Stirfry basil with beef (17.99): our favorite Chili's stirfry chicken (14.99): it was better the more you had it, but it was just strange that the chicken was coated in sauce so it didn't make it quite crispy Five spices tofu (13.99): this was pretty good. They are good about holding my prescriptions until I am able to come get them and, as with most Walgreens, they have automated phone reminders telling you your prescriptions are ready. The company can't keep pharmacists on staff. What was at one time a high paying great career now is a position that has high turnover due in very large part to the ensh*ttification artificially and unnecessarily woven into it by private equity. Twice in the past few months I've gone to pick up my medicine only to find out that the pharmacy is temporarily closed (during very normal and routine business hours mind you), which means they don't have a pharmacist available that day. Imagine going to pick up a medicine that is vital to your health only to find out that the pharmacy is closed and you have to either wait for them to reopen or transfer your prescription to another store, both of which are a major inconvenience and waste of precious time for the customer. And when they are open expect to wait a good 15 or more minutes many times in the drive through line... In addition, it normally takes them multiple days to fill what are simple scripts for blood pressure medicine. Staffing is so chaotic at Walgreens that the app many times no longer tells you when your medicine will be ready for pick up. There are still better pharmacies out there. There's no reason to have your medicine fulfilled at Walgreens. It's completely mismanaged by upper management. Note: this review is a review of corporate inadequacy and NOT the employees at this location as I've had no issues with them. I feel bad for them being caught up in such abysmal management.

I wasn't sure what to order, but the friendly staff recommended that I have the brisket, and I'm so glad I heeded their advice. The brisket sandwich was the most tender meat that I have ever had. I had never had brisket before having that sandwich, now my mouth waters any time I talk about this restaurant! The cole slaw that I had as a side provided the perfect crunch and balance. My mate had the pulled pork sandwich, which was also very tender. I also loved having a variety of barbecue sauces on the table and was able to try each one. Everyone has a preference, I'm sure, but after trying each one, I am completely sold on the Carolina gold. Also, I do not typically have a fountain soda, but the cola that was on tap was some of the best that I'd ever tasted. 10 out of 10 for Sugarfire, and I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in St. Louis!

Salmon was smoky and flaky, the fries the hand cut style with skin on. Both tasted great with my favorite coffee BBQ sauce. The hushpuppies came out piping hot with a sweet sauce on the side.
