Stopped in while in town for sorority moms weekend. I simply can't give this place enough stars. From the staff to the coffee to the food to the vibe. Just amazing. We were greeted so warmly when we walked in. And checked in on by staff that are busy making each drink to order. Their Winter drink menu is stellar. So many creative drinks to choose from! I got the Orange U Cute (I have a new obsession with Orange) and it was so smooth and full of citrus flavor. My friend got the Harvest Latte which was not only a work of art but tastes like Hawaii in your mouth. Absolutely love The Word Coffee in Fayetteville. The baristas were next level kind. They split a hot chocolate for my daughters and even temped the milk to make sure it wasn't too hot, which I really appreciated. Little things like that go a long way. I had a pour over and it was done right. Clean, balanced, and clearly made by someone who cares about coffee. Then, on top of that, the barista brought out samples of their other beans just for fun. Such an adorable coffee shop. From the outside, it looks tiny but it is very roomy and welcoming. I was in awe over the art on the walls which is all local. In fact their focus is on supporting local from coffee to their furniture. The barista was so kind and outgoing. They have a lovely covered outdoor space along with their cozy indoor seating. They have a few food options and select pastries. Number one perk is that they do not charge extra for alternative milks or tofu in place of meat for their sandwiches. Prices are incredible, especially since they do not charge for alternative milks. This is a very welcoming cafe. read more

This is, without a doubt, my favorite and most visited coffee shop in NWA. The staff is always incredibly friendly with a great knowledge of coffee and I trust all of the baristas to make my drinks! The owner is very often at the store and makes conversation with anyone who walks through the door. The specials are always delicious, the syrups and beans they use are always either local or small businesses as well. Recently I saw a man come in asking if they sold chemex coffee filters. The barista at the front said they didn't but he had some in the back and proceeded to hand them over for free. Just today, I got one of the specials. They were out of one Ingredient that makes the drink and were so apologetic about it they gave me the drink for free. I recommend this spot to all of my friends and am proud to spend my money at this establishment! read more

Delightful and delicious. We literally stumbled upon this coffee shop while driving up college. And it's near one of my favorite shops. - Grey Dog. I ordered a house seasonal brûlée latte with cardamom, spices and essence of orange and it was fantastic. Charming atmosphere, an utterly delightful barista was working that evening ( possibly the owner) and a very laid-back atmosphere perfect for conversation and sipping a crafted latte. Looks like they also have delicious, savory and sweet treats to pair with their coffee. We will try that next visit. read more

Great place with a great mission (yay living wages!). The ambiance is nice with so much natural lighting. The music inside is at a perfect level. I got a CSL latte, which was the perfect sweetness (not overly sweet like most fall lattes). I am SO grateful to Word for not charging for alternative milks... thank you so much! Huge plus in my book. The internet speed is fast, and I was able to cowork and even take a video call with no problems. Highly recommend! read more

I often contemplate deeply and with great nuance in regards to whether or not to write a review on Yelp, as I find most users do not have the slightest clue of what they are talking about, and that includes me as well. I found myself stumbling into Word Coffee on my day off out of curiosity and was very pleasantly greeted by a warm wave of guest service and happiness and child-like wonder. This really helped me because I am a guy of the shy flavor. I believe the employees working were Anna and Diego and they were very kind and human and were able to steer me in the right direction. I inquired about the menu items and what I should order, because as 26 year old I can't make my own decisions, that is just too much responsibility. I was recommended a drink that while I fail to remember the name (sorry guys and gals), It was one of the most tasteful and enjoyable experiences I have had in a long time. I will be coming back again. I also enjoyed the large chocolate croissant and it was very delicious and i ended up licking the chocolate shavings off my plate like a big rat because it was that good. The ambiance was very relaxing and it wasn't very busy when I was in there which I secretly enjoy. Well I guess it's not a secret anymore as I just wrote that. Most coffee shops locally , more specifically Fayetteville can almost become so busy at points that it actually steers customers away because they need a place to study etc. Or read a book. But hey more business the better, i understand. Overall, Word Coffee is and always will be a great place to be and does not possess the overly corporate vibe that some shops around here possess.
