Wow! Walking in and this is what a coffee lab is supposed to be. The coffee smell is prevalent right upon entry and the baristas are lined up and eagerly waiting for their next assignment. They were all super friendly and I wanted to try a cold brew which comes in just one size; 16oz. I got with Onyx Delight (vanilla, honey and cinnamon) flavoring and it was good at first but had some serious aftertaste which IMO I ended up not liking. The brew was good and fresh but I just did not like the flavoring. Just a personal preference deal. Definitely will be back! read more

Such a cute and yummy place to visit but it might take quite the wait depending on time and day. They also have bathrooms which is nice! Inside this cute shop/coffee spot you can find little knickknacks to peruse while waiting for your drink. I ordered a pumpkin chai and a Carmel latte. The latte was a smooth coffee taste and the chai was nice and spicy. The service was slow but friendly. I'd come again if I had lots of time. read more

Placed a large order days in advance. My wife showed up there today, and they acted like they had no idea about the order. Hadn't started working on it at all. I really liked the light food options they had to pair with their coffee. I enjoyed one of the hot lattes with sea salt. Their s'mores bakery item was wonderful. The staff were very kind and helpful with suggestions on their menu. The coffee shop has a more modern style and nice lighting inside. The precious gem of Fayetteville on full display! Onyx Coffee Lab (Fayetteville) is the closest thing to a perfect coffee shop! I haven't seen a coffee shop offer so much in one location: plenty of seating (both inside and outside), specified work areas, creative choices in art and decor, superb coffee a - all topped by the high quality of customer service with exemplary baristas. I organized an extended vacation to Arkansas with my fam & wonderful, sweetest girlfriend, Marissa! She bought me a nice shirt from their merch section. The fam thought it wouldn't fit me correctly so I asked one of the baristas if I could try it on in the restroom and they were totally fine with it! I tried it one and it did fit me a little too big, so I got a size smaller and the customer service and barista team were so kind and understanding to let me trade it in ()! This place had great reviews, so as someone who had visited quite a few coffee shops in my hometown, I needed to see what the scene was like in Fayetteville while teaching here for a couple weeks. I started at Onyx and they did not disappoint. Some local shops near my home have used their beans before and I was equally happy today. The barista happily gave me a run down of his seasonal favorite preferences. The menu had many enticing options, but I was easily convinced to try the strawberry rhubarb coconut latte. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. The key lime croissant was as yummy as the presentation. The shop has an atmosphere of a place I would like to come back and do work in and sit a moment. So with that said , you hand them a $20 bill , and your total is , let's say $8.56. They won't take it , unless it's a exact. This makes no since because of you have 5 customers with exact cash , eventually you have enough change in bills and coin to provide change to a customer that does not have exact cash. The skills of counting back cash is a common skill that people should have. By not "accepting " cash as exact is just like stating "I don't know how to count " Cashless will never be a "thing" a lot of people still like to use cash. No matter the age. My hubby and I one were wanting a good cup of coffee on our drive home to Oklahoma from Eureka Springs. This was luckily pretty much on our path home. We had heard good things about them so were looking forward to trying them out. I got the peach latte. For me the flavor was too sweet and it tasted like they scalded the milk, but over all it was good. I probably will not get it again though, and just stick with the regular latte. My hubby got the pour over and he said it was well extracted and the flavor was good. They don't allow you to sit inside because of Covid, but you order at their makeshift window. It was easy. So just don't plan on coming here to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. More like a walk up drive through right now. read more

Y'all these guys definitely lost their Mojo. I know Onyx used to be top tier, but it seems the management has shifted focus to selling beans in stores and the coffee shops have taken a hit. My biggest issue is when you pay, the ipad is not set up correctly to save your email when sending a receipt. Because of this, I would have to retype my email every time but half way through the cashier (thinking I didn't need a receipt) would hit no receipt on their end closing the transaction causing me to end up with no receipt. I ended up going to Basecamp coffee, because they had the system set up correctly and I was able to digitally save my receipts. To be honest, if you don't save all your receipts your a financial idiot. You should have proof of all purchases saved and it's very easy to do it with modern technology. But because Onyx doesn't have their system set up correctly, they are taking advantage of their customers in this way. Another thing Onyx completely fails at is iced drinks, more specifically iced cappuccinos. It's a very simple concept. It's an iced latte with less milk. Every time I ordered one I would end up getting charged for an iced latte and receiving an iced latte. I'm not a baby. I don't need 14oz of milk in my coffee drink of 1-2oz of coffee. The cup doesn't have to be filled all the way up, it just needs a proper ratio of coffee to milk. What made things worse is I found out these drinks only contain 1 shot of espresso unless you specifically ask for 2. So many people are coming here and paying for milk with some coffee in it and not even realizing it. It's awful. And considering no one got my iced cappuccino right, who knows how often they actually add that second shot if you ask for it. Again this is why I went to basecamp. I told them once what I wanted and they even had a tiny 8oz plastic cup to give me with the perfect ratio of espresso and milk. So if you have to choose, go to basecamp. Hopefully Onyx changes their ways but until then theres another better coffee shop just one street over. The other read more
