My tour with Olympia was informative but also straight to the point. Most of my questions were answered. I was referred online for a description of the classes offered. I've visited a few times already for a few workouts. I like the turf training area. I have spent most of my cardio workout sessions on the elliptical machine. Very smooth cardio ride, with no squeaks, and the elliptical seems to be in good working condition. I enjoyed my free personal training session with Coach King. King's training style is challenging and motivating. O2 Fitness seems like a quality workout experience with and without a trainer. Overall good experience. I saw a machine that could use a dust down at the bottom (near foot areas), and at least one elliptical I used could stand to be replaced due to a worn-out part. I've found it to be a bit warmer than I would like for a gym (without a ceiling fan). Perhaps the temp of the AC should be reviewed.

I did already use the app to send in a question but I've seen no acknowledgment and no reply. I've only been a member here about a month. They don't seem to enforce their own policies about sharing equipment, and cellphone use while using equipment. I work in customer service jobs. So I've dealt with upset people, but not usually at the gym. I picked Planet Fitness because they seem to be a gym for ordinary people, not steroid users. Today I went to use a machine. I could see it was occupied but the member was sitting on the machine with his phone. I asked if I could work in like I do at any gym. He said he had 5 more sets to do. So I waited about 2 ft away. The other member asked what I was doing. I tried to explain to him I was just waiting for the machine. He got very upset and kept telling me to "get out of his space and go away". He kept yelling as I tried to explain I was waiting there because it was the last machine I needed. At first I thought he might have said just five more reps (quick). But if so, why would he care if I just waited a few minutes. And if it was five sets he really should have shared the machine. He never said "Hey would you mind standing behind me." He just wanted me away and thought he had the right to tell me what to do. This while yelling that asking him to share the machine was the same as telling him how and where to workout. I was quite surprised so I went to talk to a staff member to 1) ask about the right thing to do and 2) see if there was another place to work out. The staff member went back to that member still working out. They talked to them but I don't know what they said. Instead of talking to them about sharing equipment, they seemed to prefer to deescalate the situation by moving me to another area. That wasn't helpful because the only other machine was also in use. Should I just wander around the building while I'm waiting to use a machine? I notice a lot of folks either sitting on the machine during their entire set or staring at their phones while resting despite a sign at the front door asking members to not do that. I honestly don't feel comfortable at this place if this is how they fail to address bad behavior by members.

Sign up for small classes where up to 3 groups work out at the same time. A well-trained coach guides the class through the workout. Workouts last for an hour and combine cardio with strength exercises. Orangetheory is for people of all fitness levels. During any given class, there are terrific athletes and non-athletes working out together. Nobody judges, and everybody is encouraging. OTF Cary-Macgregor is a newer studio. In spite of this fact, it already is one of the best. Jesse does a terrific job of managing the studio. He let me borrow a heart rate monitor without charge after I forgot to bring mine during one class. He took the time to chat with me even though I am not new to OTF. The workouts at OTF Cary-Macgregor were terrific. Jacob is a great coach and runs the classes perfectly. He welcomed me back and remembered my name when I attended my second class at this studio. A fun fact to note: I ran into the owner of a local Crossfit gym during one of my visits to this OTF. He apparently likes to do both programs. After an awful experience at OTF Morrisville, OTF Cary-Macgregor restored my confidence in the brand. I gave OTF Cary-Macgregor top marks in the survey that I was sent, and Jesse called to personally thank me. Thank you Jacob and Jesse for terrific experiences. If I'm still a member of OTF during my next visit to NC, I will certainly stop by this studio.

Lindsay and the support trainers push you and are extremely motivating and energetic without feeling like they are yelling at you. The workouts are constantly changing so you never get bored. The 1:1 focus meetings help you stay on track or give you feedback on any issues you might be having. There are always modifications for exercises both up and down. You'll never feel embarrassed for asking for a mod if you have an injury or just can't do one of the moves. Everyone is so kind, welcoming and supportive here. OHM Fitness is coming to Cary, and I have had the opportunity to experience it the past 3 weeks in…read morethe form of pop-up. It is a cool and interesting concept of wearing EMPowered suits that deliver EMS (electro muscle stimulation) for a fun low-impact 25 minute session. The future studio is currently under construction, so the owners (Liz and Luis) are sharing OHM Fitness with Triangle residents via pop-ups until the permanent location is ready. First timers are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to allow the team to prepare them for the experience and to give them the properly sized EMPowered suit which is like a scuba suit that goes from knees to elbow. The suits work "best" with direct skin contact, so people can go "commando" or opt to wear a thong to allow optimal contact with your glutes. The class is 25 minutes from warm up to peak to cool down and change exercises every 25 to 45 seconds. During the class the team will go around to each individual to make sure the suit has been optimized to each individual, which I think is very cool. each session has been unique, and the team will play music that motivates me even more. I like to push myself when I exercise for my own benefit, so I have increased the intensity over the past few weeks including Thanksgiving day. Each time I have left feeling energized and ready for another fun session in the near future (AKA tomorrow). I really like this concept because it's fast easy, and I feel good before during and after which you can't always say when exercising. I will likely need to update this review once the permanent location opens, but until then I encourage anyone who would like to try this new and cool concept to get in touch with OHM FitnessCary and experience it for yourself!
