I love crepes. I prefer them thin and crisp with good flavor (without sugar & whipped cream) on their own. Then toppings are a bonus. The crepes here are wonderful! Meeting my criteria and the fruit was sliced thin, with light cream. Yum! Topeka has almost no crepe places (iHop does not qualify). But this place competes with Vegas and NY & Maui restaurants! Highly recommend - worth waiting 10-15 minutes! And good coffee and tea drinks too! read more

There were regulars that came in & they seem like they had great rapport but they didn't offer any help with the menu, suggestions or small talk. Service is at a snails pace. Less talk and more Crepe making. Lots of fun behind the counter. Not for you. The Crepe cook had an inability to make 2 crepes at a time. There are 3 Crepe griddles! They made one at a time and 20 minutes apart! How freaking annoying. If you want a grilled ham and cheese they will not grill a croissant. I had not been to World Cup in about 3 years. I wanted a quiet and safe place to meet a friend when I returned to Topeka. World Cup filled the bill. Same great coffee, baked goods and service. Socially distance was achievable and it was as obviously cleaned often. Safe place to go! read more

I've been living in the Chesney Park area for 20+ years. After the departure of the Flying Monkey, I decided to try out the World Cup. Boy was this a mistake. Never ever should coffee come with bad vibes, but this place has an abundance of rudeness and a dearth of coffee lol The first time I came in, I asked for a cold brew - If you're familiar with this type of coffee, you know that it's usually pre-made and brewed over many hours. Usually, this means that a cup is just one pour away and does not need to brewed on the spot. I ordered and I ended up getting my cold brew long after several other patrons came in and got their fresh brewed on the spot. After about 15 minutes I finally got my cold coffee, along with a very drafty attitude from the barista. I felt this odd, but I decided to come back again. Today, I arrived and once again asked for the cold brew. Now they claim they don't sell it. How things can change in a week! I don't have the energy to unpack why this place has such poor service, it could be just me - My only suggestion? Go to a real coffee shop, they'll at least have cold brew. lol read more

By far my favorite coffee place in topeka. The staff are friendly and there are a lot of locals and regulars that come in that are vv friendly. The service is a bit slow so go if you have time in your hands. The wait isn't as long as people are making it out to be. The mocha latte is to die for, i love their coffee blend everything in the latte balances out perfectly and is divine. The crepes do take a while but not as long as people say. It's a very good place to catch up and chat. The cinnamon sugar crepe is amazing, they come out hot though so be careful. I come before school and I'm never late. I love a coffee shop with comfy couches and laid back lounge areas because discomfort is the last thing needed early in the morning. The novel corner is my favorite spot in the cafe because there's an artificial fireplace (it's the visual effect that counts), shelves of books that can be taken if you bring in one to trade, and pieces from local artists up for auction. I truly like the atmosphere more than their product because it tastes just like any other standard coffee shop. read more

I used to visit regularly but am choosing to go to the campus shop more now BC prices are too high at World Cup and even more damaging they've lost their friendliness and welcoming feel. Inquire about student discount & they tell you they still honor it but then don't give it to you?! Really?! Twice this has happened or I'd disregard. Crepes are usually good. I miss the atmosphere this place had before it became its present self, the people were more kind and actually filled your cup to the size you order - my 16oz should have been labeled a 13oz! Their coffee is on the pricy side if you plan to get anything fancy, but they have cheap brewed coffee that's popular with the older set.
