Paradise used to be the go-to donut place in Topeka, especially because of it being a local business. My gripe with this place began with how rude the staff was to my husband and I. They acted as if they had better things to do and didn't care about us as customers. Not only was it us as customers, but everyone in line. I shrugged this off at first because of how good the donuts were. However, recently, the quality of the donuts matches the quality of customer service. The donuts we purchased were severely undercooked. So much so that when I bit into the donut, it was completely raw. I usually am not so picky about places and their service, but based on how the quality of donuts have completely declined, I would advise going somewhere else. read more

Awesome donuts. But your customers don't know you're out of donuts so it's inconsiderate to close early instead of making enough. We just know your posted business hours. So when we drive across town to do business with you and find you are closed because you ran out of product, it means customers may not give you additional chances. Make more donuts, or it tells customers you are bad at planning or don't care about the customers who went out of their way to do business with you. read more

These donuts are amazing! Best cake donut I've ever had. I thought for sure my 2 young kids would not be able to finish the giant cinnamon bun, but the bread was so soft they devoured the whole thing. You can cover a cinnamon bun in sweet icing, but the bread is the true heart of the bun. We've had our fair share of tough buns, but this one was perfection. read more

This was my first visit to Paradise Donuts, but it won't be my last. I have been wanting to try this place for many months, but rarely have an opportunity. This is a locally owned bakery, pastry shop, not a chain. I was in the area this morning, hungry and remembered Paradise Donuts was close by. Lots of people coming and going when I arrived. I was greeted as soon as I entered. Huge Apple Fritters waiting for my purchase. I dined inside with apple fritters and a large cup of coffee. Perfect. The apple fritter has actual apple slices inside, not just small pieces for flavor. It is actually large enough for 2 people to share, or save a portion for a later snack. They also offer both cake and raised donuts, long john rolls, cinnamon twists and cinnamon rolls. The dining room is large with lots of tables. There are 3 tall tables with chairs along the bright south facing windows. read more

I love, love, love their donuts. They are amazing. The only thing I could say negative is that I hate when they're closed.

The donuts are good. But, I have stopped by at 6:05 (on many occassions - because I have to get to work on time) and while the sign says open at 6:00, they are not yet open. No one up front. No donuts in the case. I'm sorry, but if the sign says open at 6:00 and if the customers expect you to be open at 6:00, then good golly, you'd better be open by 6:00! I would love to give this place more business, but they are just too erratic and irresponsible for me to take the risk of driving by for nothing. Hopefully, the owner will correct this deficiency. read more

Came in at 9:30 Saturday morning, so expected the selection to be low (they close before noon Saturdays) and the donuts to be old. Boy was I wrong! Yeah, selection was limited, but what they had was fresh and delicious. Glazed and maple long johns just came out fresh, and I have to say it was simply the best donuts I have had in this town (Topeka is well known for really bad food...Pizza Hut continuously is voted one of the best pizza places). So in love with this place. They had a rough start but they have their flow down. The staff is fun and helpful. The donuts are so beautiful you ALMOST don't want to eat them. The owner says he'll be adding more as he goes. He runs a great business and is serving a superior product. I got donuts and a breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious! They don't get all the stars because they need to step up their coffee game. The workers didn't know how to make anything and there weren't many choices. That usually wouldn't be a big deal, but they didn't have didn't have any decent fixings (only cheap powdered creamer). The proprietor had been giving away free donuts in preparation of their grand opening since they couldn't officially sell yet, but needed the practice. Who can pass up free donuts? He was very generous and gave me a massive cinnamon roll, enormous apple fritter and two chocolate cake donuts. I love chocolate, so I tried a bite of the cake donut, intending to give the rest to my husband. I ended up eating the whole donut! This is my new favorite cake donut in town! Really expensive. Really super sweet donuts. I got 4 big donuts. They stuffed them in a small bag. I couldn't even close the bag. One fell out before I could get home with them. I did complain before I left the store. They didn't seem to think anything was wrong with stuffing them in the small bag. Would not recommend. read more
