Came to get my Rolex appraised before a sale. The girl appraising was very young and seemed inexperienced. She looked at my watch under a microscope for a bit and said she couldn't find a crown engraved in the crystal. She also said the serial was supposed to line up with the minute hand (on the rehaut). She ended with "there are some really good fakes out there". Right after leaving I went to Jewelers on Time, right across the street. Kenny and Victor have been in business for 25+ years. They actually opened up the watch to check the movement, unlike World Gemological Services. They also immediately found the laser engraved crown on the crystal. And said that the r o l e x on the rehaut should line up with the minute hands but the serial number SHOULD BE between the minute hands. The girl had NO CLUE what she was talking about when it comes to Rolex or watches at all. I would strongly recommend going to any of the many other appraisers in the area. read more

I was disappointed in the professionalism of the gentleman that did my appraisal. My appraisal came back less than the previous appraisal done 4 1/2 years ago. I questioned it as I had a right to do so. His explanation was he did his research prior to doing the appraisal and that he felt that it was correct. His assumption was that the previous company possibly could have been incorrect. I took it back to where I bought it. I spoke to a associate that was very professional and explained why it could have been less. This helped me understand the difference. I'm disappointed that I wasn't explained this when I called and spoke to the gentleman that did my appraisal. I will not have this company do another appraisal for me.
