This has to be one of the worst dealerships I've been to. The service is horrible and they could care less. I arrived around noon and ended up leaving around 5PM without a car. The salesmen were not helpful at all. They didn't even ask me about my interest in any of the cars, they simply just brought out a Jeep Patriot and tried to force me to buy it. That's a for sure no go. I asked to be speak to a manager regarding my experience and a manager never appeared. Is this how business is typically conducted here. Had a poor experience with sales previously, which I know happens and decided not to leave a review but today had an oil change and a tire rotation take an hour and 55 minutes and thats where I draw the line. I am not comparing you to a Jiffy Lube, but almost 2 hours for a tire rotation and an oil change is unacceptable. I asked what the average time it took when I booked the appointment and the nice lady on the phone said an hour, person in the store after I finally got my car said an hour and a half so they are all over the place would rather take it to Family Hyundai or somewhere a little farther away, where they have these things more buttoned up maybe it's just because I didn't buy the vehicle there but the time and communication wasn't great and won't be back for either sales or service in the future. read more

My experience with Manny in the service department was, without question, one of the most unprofessional and ethically troubling customer service interactions I have ever encountered. His conduct was dismissive, combative, and wholly inconsistent with the standards one would reasonably expect from a reputable dealership. As a direct result of this experience, our family elected to purchase our next new vehicle from another dealership, as we could not in good conscience continue supporting a business that permits such behavior and questionable business practices. The tire replacement program marketed by this dealership appears materially misleading and fundamentally deceptive in its execution. At the time of purchase, I was expressly advised that if I complied with all required scheduled maintenance obligations through the dealership, I would qualify for replacement tires at approximately 35,000 miles. In reliance upon those representations, I adhered strictly to every required maintenance interval and incurred the substantially higher costs associated with dealership servicing specifically to preserve eligibility under this program. Despite fulfilling every condition communicated to me, I was informed at only 19,000 miles that the tires on my recently purchased SUV were already deemed unusable and required replacement. Rather than honoring the spirit or representations of the advertised program, I was offered only a minimal discount through Goodyear and was still required to absorb the remaining cost of replacement tires. This outcome stands in stark contrast to the representations made at the time of sale and raises serious concerns regarding deceptive inducement and bad-faith business practices. Further compounding the issue, both my service advisor and written email correspondence provided me a quote that explicitly confirmed that labor charges would be waived for the tire replacement service. However, upon completion, I was nevertheless charged labor fees. When I disputed the unauthorized charge, Manny asserted that he had "brokered the deal himself" and claimed that no labor waiver had ever been offered. This statement was demonstrably false, and I possess written quote documentation confirming otherwise. Rather than reviewing the evidence or attempting to resolve the matter professionally, he refused to even acknowledge it. During the same visit, while my vehicle was already being serviced for a federally mandated seatbelt recall, Manny further attempted to pressure me into purchasing an additional $199 alignment service, stating that failure to authorize the alignment immediately would result in my removal from the tire program altogether. Conditioning continued program eligibility upon the immediate purchase of unrelated services, particularly during a recall appointment involving vehicle safety compliance, is deeply concerning and appears coercive in nature. When I questioned the integrity of a program that requires customers to incur premium dealership maintenance costs, only to withhold the promised benefit well before the represented mileage threshold, Manny became increasingly supercilious and dismissive. Rather than addressing the legitimate concerns surrounding the apparent unethical nature of these practices, he reacted defensively after being confronted about his conduct and the ignorance reflected in his dismissive attitude. At no point did he acknowledge the validity of the concerns raised, instead categorically denying any wrongdoing or accountability whatsoever. Most alarming, however, was Manny's reaction following our concerns regarding his conduct. After being confronted about what we believed to be misleading and unethical business practices, he refused to complete the outstanding safety recall repair on my vehicle, effectively sending us away while an active recall issue directly impacting passenger safety remained unresolved. Allowing personal offense or hostility to interfere with the completion of a federally mandated safety repair demonstrated a profound disregard for customer safety, a troubling abuse of professional discretion, and a complete lack of accountability and professionalism. Perhaps most telling was the reaction of another service employee present during the interaction, who was exceptionally kind and privately acknowledged witnessing similar incidents on a regular basis and it was said by the employee that the behavior "turns my stomach." That statement alone speaks volumes regarding the culture and operational practices being tolerated within this service department. This entire experience reflected not only poor customer service, but a disturbing pattern of misrepresentation, coercive sales tactics, disregard for written commitments, and conduct that undermines consumer trust. read more

After reviewing their online inventory I call their store number to verify they had an Elantra N on site. They verified that it was there. Once I arrived there was no Elantra N in sight and they kept pushing a credit app even though I showed them my FICO auto score and said I can obtain my own financing. After declining 3 credit apps and asking to see the car in person for 30 minutes Owen finally told me the car was "in transit and should arrive in an hour". I left the dealership and called back an hour later where I was told that it was a misunderstanding and that I was going in only for an appointment for an allocation and they had none in hand or in transit even though it was verified by 3 different representatives of the dealership. This is unprofessional behavior and a failed attempt of a bait and switch. I took my vehicle in for an oil change, at the scheduled time of 7am, on Monday, July 28th. During my lunch break, I returned at approximately 12:25pm to pick it up. When I arrived, there wasn't anyone behind the service desk. After about 20 minutes (and me going to find help), a young lady came behind the desk, completing what sounded like a heated discussion with someone else. I explained that I was there to pick up my vehicle. She was unable to locate my paperwork and advised me that I would need to wait for my advisor, who checked me in at 7am, and proceeded to help another customer. After going to the cashier and explaining that I needed to speak with a manager because I was there on my lunch break and just wanted my vehicle, the young lady who did not seem to have the time to assist me in the beginning, advised me that she could print my paperwork. Upon receiving my paperwork, I saw that I was being charged a much higher price than what was agreed upon over the course of time that I've had my vehicle. I was able to get that cleared up with the help of a service manager. While I was waiting for my keys, the young lady used that opportunity to basically tell me that that the original charge was NOT a mistake and going forward, I would be required to pay the full amount and this directive was coming from the General Manager. I told her that if that was the case, I would not be returning to that dealership. I found her behavior unacceptable, unprofessional and insulting. I am still waiting on a call from the GM. The standing price that I have was due to the deception of the sales person who sold me my vehicle. I was told that I would have unlimited oil changes. When they tried to charge me for my oil changes, I called them on it, so they honored it. Then last year, I was told that due to a program change, it would be $25. I was fine with that. I purchased a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy from World Hyundai about a year ago. I have brought the car in for routine service about 3-4 times since the purchase. When I received a notice that my second oil change was due, I took the car in and was told I would need to pay for that oil change because it wasn't at 15,000 miles which is where I get the next free oil change. I asked why I received a notice if the service recommendation was every 7500 miles. The sidetracked me saying the Chicago area requires more frequent oil changes than other areas. I curious why that wasn't mentioned while I was purchasing the car from them. Fast forward I bring the car in again for some issues. My folding mirrors were not working (3rd time) and I also mentioned that over the last 12 months I have experienced a slight hesitation when accelerating. I told them the last occurrence had been a couple month ago and could they check to make sure there was not any codes showing. I received a call after they had the car 2 days and the service person said the mirrors were working fine. She further said that the tech could not find any codes, but he checked further and found out my gas was bad. She said in order to check any further their mechanic needs to removed the gas tank off of my brand new car and drain the gas and refill it. They also said I would need to have the fuel injectors cleaned. This all of corse was not covered under the warranty and the cost to me would be $1500. Again she indicated that could not proceed with any looking for the hesitation until this work was completed. I called back and asked to speak with the service manager and was told they were not available until the following week. I spoke again with the person handling my service and said I didn't think there was any chance the fuel was bad. I had called Delta Sonic where I always get my fuel and they had not received any other complaints. This was another false sell by the person handling my service because she assured me that once the work was complete I could take my receipts to Delta Sonic and they would cover the $1500. A little research on the internet showed that was BS. There needs to be more than one complaint to substantiate the bad gas at the fuel station. Thankfully I called Hyundai corporate and submitted a complaint. The person handling my complaint did a conference call with myself and the service advisor. After she out us both on hold for several minutes the service advisor advised corporate the same information she told me. I said the car was running fine when I brought it in. No idling or other issues. I also said the problem I spoke of was intermittent and has not occurred for several weeks. It was impossible to blame the current tank of gas could not be blamed for something that last occurred 3 weeks prior. The corporate person asked the service advisor if I could just pick up the car. The advisor agreed but told me there would be a $199 fee for looking into the diagnostics. I told her that I asked only to check if there were any codes and was told there would be no diagnostics charge for that. Corporate asked if they could wave the fee, which she agreed to do. The service person originally said I could pick up the car right away. Then they said they needed about 2 hours before I could pick it up. No reason given. I picked the car up, but once I arrived I waited another 25 minutes before the car was returned to me. They asked if I wanted the car washed which I declined. My experience with their previous car washed was poor. They don't vacuum or dry the car so it's full of streaks. Corporate also told me that if I was unhappy with Worlds service department that I could take it to another dealer of my choice. About 1 month after this I took the car to Happy Hyundai in Oak Lawn for a covered oil change. No pressure for additional services and my car was washed, dried and vacuumed very efficiently. My feeling is that World attempted to have me pay for a service that was not necessary so they could recover revenue lost while looking for the hesitation problem with my brand new car. If you go to World take a look at the glass on the service managers office. There are several names wrote on the glass with positive and negative numbers. It would be interesting to see if that relates to positive revenue. read more

I am beyond frustrated with the service I've received from Hyundai of Matteson. On Tuesday, December 17, I scheduled an appointment for my 2020 Hyundai Elantra, which was having trouble starting. They set me up for Wednesday, December 18, at 7:45 AM. I dropped my vehicle off Tuesday evening with the expectation that they would look at it on Wednesday. However, this has been nothing but an infuriating, drawn-out nightmare. On Wednesday, we spoke with Jordan, the service advisor, who claimed the starter was operating at "six volts" and not functioning properly. I don't fully understand this technical jargon, so I asked a trusted friend to step in and help. My friend questioned Jordan, particularly since the starter had already been replaced. Jordan then said they would run a draw test and get back to us. That never happened. We called on Thursday and were met with excuses about their phone system being down all day. Fine, things happen, but the complete lack of communication is unacceptable. On Friday, we finally reached Jordan, and he claimed they were just starting the draw test they had supposedly planned to run on Wednesday. He then told us the test would take 24 to 48 hours and wouldn't be completed until Monday, December 23. Monday morning, after waiting days, we called Jordan again. He suddenly shifted the issue, now claiming it had something to do with the ignition coil and that the starter, alternator, and battery were all fine. Jordan said he would contact the warranty company and call us back with a quote within 15-20 minutes. Guess what? That call never came. By 2 PM, we had to call back and ended up speaking with Laura from the service department. She said Jordan was on lunch and she'd try to help. She told us the problem was now back to being the starter, contradicting what Jordan had told us earlier. Then she claimed Jordan was busy with three other customers but would call us back. Once again, no one called us back. As of now, my vehicle has been sitting at Hyundai of Matteson for over a week with no resolution, no clear communication, and conflicting information. This is absolutely ridiculous! How can a multi-million-dollar company operate with such poor service and disorganization? They are going to charge $300 for diagnostics, yet it's obvious they don't even know what the issue is. Our Tucson we bought from here has had engine failure, despite regular oil changes, and it was covered under warranty, but this place managed to scam me and made me pay for new hoses coming from the engine, so basically around $900 dollars because God forbid a job be truly "covered." Then they charge my insurance company insanely for a catalytic converter replacement, but I was frazzled with where to go being a victim of a crime because this brand is a target for EVERYTHING! Last February, I completed services that resulted in my engine being replaced. Days later, pulling out of my driveway, I noticed that the gear slipped from reverse to neutral without full prompt. I called to see if something wasn't "tightened" during the service. I was told that what I was experiencing was normal.10 months later my car slipped out of gear while I was driving. I called again and was told to schedule a diagnostic. I get the run around all the way up to the corporate office who still couldn't answer the question of fee. I ended up back at the dealership who said upon drop off, that I didn't owe anything at that time. No further details. I am told to leave the vehicle. No shuttle or courtesy. So I get a ride; they ended up keeping my car all weekend. Monday comes around, and they hit me with a myriad repairs up to $2,000.Then they call and tack on a nearly $3,000 "trans adjacent" service. Despite the issues WITH SLIPPING GEARS, it is not an actual transmission problem and therefore not covered. I said I would just pick up the car, and that I had to figure things out for that amount. Suddenly, the car "isn't drivable."I drove it there. How is that possible? The concession is that they just don't recommend driving it due to potential worsening. I have no choice. I arranged to pick it up the next day. I arrive and am asked if I have paid. I have not because nothing was discussed regarding pre-payment. They look through several files and receipts (terrifying accounting). They find a paid receipt with someone else's cc info. That fact bothered only me. No one thought that was a problem. Instead, they called it a "blessing", handed me the receipt, and went to get my car. 10 minutes later he returns without it, "Your car won't start. We don't know why, but it won't." After about 40 minutes I say that I will come back the next day in order to give them a chance to figure it out. The next day, I called ahead because I would rather not waste another 40 minute drive. I am told nonchalantly that the car still won't start and that I need to have it towed. I ask for the manager. Art Avalos is also vapid in his response. The expectation is astonishingly ridiculous: Drive it here tow it away. I ask Art if he is telling me to escalate to corporate. Art tells me to "Do what you gotta do." I hang up and I call Hyundai Customer Care. I am told that they can't do anything. They don't even know who the franchise owner is. I escalate my case. I am told that a non cf layer of the company has access to that information. They'll get back with me in 3-4 business days. They don't. I have a growing fear that the dealership might try and siphon money by way of abandoned fees. I go back. Prior to my arrival, the manager, Art, had been unavailable all day and therefore no headway was made. I ask for my car. The flirty manager was the pinnacle of professionalism this time around. Another manager bounded up to explain that they had found the previous day's clerical error! They wanted the $238 that had not been previously disclosed. This snowball had become an avalanche. I went to pay the diagnostic bill while awaiting my tow service. They tried to tack on a cc fee. I paid debit instead. I towed the car off the lot that was manufactured by a company that wasn't supposed have engine and transmission issues. The service agent told me that there are always defects under the hood, but it's a secret. Hyundai corporate was powerless to assist. The franchise owner, Scott Falcone (I googled him), remained unknown or inaccessible to me. My KBB value disintegrated to $2,500 with no offered answers or compensation. The dealership said no. Why? Because I had already purchased a new vehicle. I needed to get to and from work. I guess I was supposed to finance a new Hyundai with them. If I could leave a 0 review, I would, but Eric was nice. I would never let my loved ones purchase from such a company.The nonchalance, lack of accountability, and lack of transparency is staggering. This is after I made appointment. Had a electrical problem with the lights and set up the service appointment 2 x and each time the tech released the car the same problem occurred in the dealer's parking lot. Either poor tech or never looked the problem. I had a engine oil consumption ( had service contract & under 100k miles) and I was told they would not cover it since I was second owner. I had to pay 1200 dollars for a test and maybe they would cover it. I had a service contract. I've been taking my car here for service as this is where I bought it. Well no more. Took my 2022 Palisade in for routine 15k maintenance and they gave it back with a cracked windshield. Guess replacing those wiper blades was a real difficult task. No evidence of the eight inch crack in the middle of my windshield in the check in photos but because the mechanic took a picture of the crack in back it "must of been pre-existing" so sorry/not sorry they are not responsible. However, they will do me a solid and let me have a new windshield at cost if I wanted to bring it back. Hard no on that. Going through the reviews just to see I'm not the only person experiencing this scam of a dealership is crazy. Bullied me into buying a used car that's only 2 years old. I've had it for 2 months ONLY and it has all type of issues that they can't seem to figure out. I've been to the dealership 5x since I bought the car and they still can't determine the issue. I call to let them know they sold me a faulty car and the salesman had the nerve to insult my intelligence by saying he "can assure the car wasn't bogus when we sold it to you" so after 2 months you mean to tell me I did something to damage the car that badly? Told me they can't fix what's not broken. Laughable how you can talk to someone you HOUNDED to come in. This location is terrible, I've left numerous voicemails, when I call they don't answer. No one can make any accommodations for you once you purchased the car from them. Mr. Scott Falcone I am a customer that purchased a vehicle from World Hyundai approximately 5 months ago and I know that I'd purchased an extended warranty which I did not get the paperwork for at time of my purchase because of something going on with their computers & or printers, therefore someone was supposed to email it to me. Now let me tell you a little bit about my situation. I am a cancer patient and i cannot be on the phone trying to reach someone 24/7 about my 2018 mercedes benz that started to reeked from the smell of fuel & now has an oil leak but I cannot for the life of me get anyone on the phone to assist me with the issue, except the receptionist who wasn't very helpful because all she's trained to do is transfer me to a voicemail, could not or would not even give me the general managers or owners name but time and time again transferred me to someone's voicemail. I've spoken with that young lady at least 10 to 12 times today alone, I briefly spoke with a gentleman that goes by the name of Nick whom I was told is the finance manager, after speaking to him, he said he would email me a copy within an hour now 5 hours later (still waiting). Finally the icing on the cake, I get your front end manager Calvin, talk about a piece of work, needless to say by this i'm beyond livid and yes, probably a little loud because im upset and angry, he decides he's going talk to me as if I'm his child and tell me to lower my voice and that he was gonna hang up and call me back when he felt like I've cooled down and then he proceeds to do just that & hangs up on me Wow that's another callback I have yet to receive and furthermore that's not how you diffuse a situation, not sure where he got his customer service draining from, but he definitely needs to reassess! The day of my purchase there was an irate customer in their show room, saying we should never buy a vehicle from them and I should have listened. I purchased a 2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL with Convenience Package in 04/2024. I will just say I will NEVER lease nor buy another car from this dealership. I don't appreciate buying a car that was marked up over $1,000 over the MSRP. When I spoke to a finance manager he said it was coming up over $33,000, nothing he could do and would I like a car wash. Well I did find the Sticker that I had downdloaded and price was $32, 215. I trusted the two guys who handled my transaction, but that was a mistake by me. In any event, I paid more than for my car than any other Sonata except the NLine listed with this company. Walking into the dealership, I was greeted by all staff with a smile. They all said good morning to me! The staff was very kind. This location is very clean and well kept. I went in to get an oil change, it took an hour and a half. I wasn't bothered but some people may be by the long wait time. I had a great experience until they wanted me to do maintenance recommendations. That's fine, however they want me to pay $400.00 for a windshield wiper replacement. I asked around on Reddit about that and over 50 mechanics said I was getting scammed because I'm a female teenager. I won't be attending this location again due yo the fact they thought they could trick me. However the staff, the complimentary snacks, and cleanliness is a plus. read more

2/12/24 World hyundai matteson called me several times regarding my complaint. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I also left a review on their website. The last person I talked to was Will James. I told him I would be in after work around 3:30pm. I go there at that time with my brother. He checks the oil. It's dirty. He tries to move the dirt around in the napkin and say it's clean....I said check it again. This time he pulls the dipstick out, wiped it on the napkin, puts this stick in my face, then puts the napkin in my face and tells me to smell it. I gave him a look and said get that out my face. I'm not smelling anything. He offered to change the oil. I said I don't trust the dealership and I want a refund, or I can watch them change the oil. He starts yelling he ain't giving me no refund and slams my hood down. My brother says can u give me something in writing that's says u don't give refunds.... he is talking over my brother and getting loud. Now my brother is talking over him and he gets louder everytime Mr. James gets loud. My brother is repeating the same thing, can u give me that in writing. Will James, corporate manager, then tells someone to move my car out of there. I said no one is moving my car. He said he was just going to call the police. I said call them. Now i had already agreed to the oil change, as long as I could watch. Either that or refund me. Because I still have to go get an oil change. Now he is writing up the ticket. Then comes back and says stop I'm just gon issue a refund. The police are now here. I'm inside now waiting on the refund. He is out there lying to them. I see the officer read my plates and call them in! The police start surrounding us....like we did something. They can watch the video. Will James was the aggressor! I did get a refund. And I saw the paper where Mr James wrote that the GM told him to refund me and in the future get work done somewhere else. I WAS NEVER COMING BACK! NOR WOULD I REFER ANYONE. Their customer service is trash! They really had me pay for an oil change and never changed my oil. Never topped off the fluids. Never put a sticker in my window. Nothing! Although we have not purchased a car from World Hyundai,we have experienced the same under handed, unprofessional sales experience with World Kia Joliet. owners are Scott and Rena Falcone. It is obvious that the sales culture is identical. We went into the dealership on Saturday and were surprised to see so many prospective customers. We knew what we wanted. We have EXCELLENT credit--over 830. After talking with the sales rep for 5 minutes he wanted us to take a test drive. We told him, no need at this time, my husband has researched cars and this is what we want. He was persistent and my husband said, lets just take it for the test drive anyway. Came back and talked price. I have never leased or financed any cars, but given the price these days, it would make sense to finance. . I told him I did not want the car he showed us and that I wanted a different color. Within 15 minutes, they found one. We were told that to secure the car we wanted, we needed to sign papers. I told him and the finance manager that once I received the monies from my investments, we would finalize the purchase. Came home and looked at the mirage of paperwork and discovered they slipped a second contract with no money down. Infuriated me. On Monday, we went to the dealership, I approached the finance manager and asked him what this was about. He said if we didn't have the money for the deposit, they would process the zero down one. We sat for an hour and finally were able to look at the car. Husband noticed immediately that it was a lesser model. The car was covered with ice and dirt. Asked for the window sticker. Not in car or on the window. All of a sudden it appeared. $1800 less than the quoted contract. Finance then reduced the price. Again, reminded him we would finalize when we had the funds and would not take possession until then and check out the car. 5 days later I'm getting e-mails and texts congratulating us on the purchase. Now I'm really pissed. The nerve to process the paperwork with Kia finance. I have contacted Kia (Hyundai) finance. said dealer needs to cancel. I faxed a Cancellation letter, filed a complaint with Kia USA. Today, I texted sales rep and asked for a meeting on Wednesday to resolve issues, but of course, they ghosted me.
