I took my 2017 Nissan Altima in for a tune-up. Came out with an air-bag light that would not go off. A potential costly predicament that I found myself in. An aggressive staff (Jeremiah) that refused to clarify why he did not point out that the air-bag light was on when I first brought the car in (because it was not on) but like a faulty robot on the following day kept repeating that I should buy a new car. This surely revealed why my car has been tampered with. I have no reason to give this Nissan dealership anything other than 5 stars! Both my mother and sister drives Nissans. Each car needed a little bit of service. I contacted a few dealerships and they were all booked for sometime to come. However, I called Hawkinson Nissan and told them of my dilemma and I asked for assistance ASAP, they told me what time to arrive, I did it, they fixed it... That very day. Jason, in the service department was exceptional! He was very professional, kind and very attentive. The issue was resolved and I was out the door in a good amount of time. So, I asked if I could bring my sisters car and Jason said if I brought it in early next morning, he'd have me in and out ASAP. Done deal! thanks Jason! Lastly, I also stopped by for the first time a few days earlier before the 1st service job to see if they could take a look at a key fob that wasn't working properly. The sales team was great, especially Andy and Ed. The finance manager John Palmer was the worst. He refused to take no for an answer, demanded I explain to him my financial decisions under the guise of advice even after repeatedly being told no and to please process the paperwork. I ended up signing a tire and maintenance plan under duress just because I needed to get home to take care of my dogs with the understanding that I could cancel anytime, as he confirmed multiple times. It only got worse from there. He stopped answering my calls or responding to my emails. I had one conversation with him since, after calling his manager, where he provided the cancellation form and assured me he would process it. Its been 6 weeks and he has yet to submit the cancellation paperwork as confirmed by the Tire plan company. The manager Derek Urban, keeps promising he will take care of it, and after 5 days nothing has been accomplished. I had to file a complaint to the Illinois Attorney General office for deceptive business practices and obstruction of my right to cancel a contract at any time. Absolutely unacceptable. It was clear the financial manager was angry when I requested the cancellation and every interaction since has been stonewalling preventing me from cancelling the plans. read more

If I could give you zero stars i would. Brought my Sentra SV for oil change and tire rotation. Drive home all tires inflated to different amounts. Let air out of the two back tires to match the front and then I find out they didn't reset the tire sensor after rotating my tires. My car was spotless and they sprayed my windshield and got water spots all over my car as well as finger smudges everywhere. Drive all the way back to have them fix the tires sensor and pressure and then had the audacity to say I have a low end vehicle that doesn't have sensor like most due that update automatically. Online sales person contacted me directly after my online inquiry in response to their online listing of Nissan Altima 2019 SV trim AWD. She provided the quote of $21,000 excluding title, sales tax, documentation fee. We drove 2 hours to this dealership and when we sat for final numbers, Sales manager came up with a OTD price of $26,040. So the price that they confirmed changed from $21,000 to $23,710 (+ the sales tax+documentation fee+government fee is $2,330, which was excluded from advertised cost that we already know). So when we asked about it, he mentioned about the mandatory dealership items (wheel locks $599, simonize paint $1599, anti theft protection $399 and ETHOS $355) that I should pay to qualify for the online advertised price. When I showed their site where this information is not mentioned then he mention that you won't be driving all 2 hours to their dealership if price is not attractive but they will be in loss if they sell the car for online advertised price. So I have to buy these dealer added items at their mentioned price. I ended up paying extra $2000 than what I was expecting to pay for the car. I know if I buy the wheel locks directly from Nissan it cost me $70 but I paid $599, I don't need the simonize paint and anti theft stickers but had to buy in order to qualify for online advertised price. After reviewing google reviews, I am seeing similar responses from other online shoppers about this dealership. There was actually a few things I needed addressed, so I told Jason over the phone all the issues I was having plus the two recalls on my vehicle. He got me scheduled for service the following Tuesday. Jason was so wonderful, as was Judy in scheduling. My daughter purchased a 2018 Hyundai Sonata from Hawkinson Kia. She purchased the car in August 2022 and by October 2022 the car was broke down. The car had to be towed back to Kia in Matteson IL and they initially said it was covered by warranty. However, after going back and forth between Kia ( the dealership it was purchased from) and Hyundai ( the maker of the vehicle) unfortunately now they are saying it isn't covered. How can a car you only had two not be covered by the warranty. I'm ready to take this to the news outlets. This is not good customer for Kia Hawkinson in Matteson IL or Hyundai. My 21 year daughter put down $6000 on a car that turned out to be a lemon. It's just not fair at all it's a total scam. I would not buy a pencil from this dealership this is bad business. Had a horrible experience. Took my vehicle in at 7am for an oil change and sunshade was off track, I was told at 5 pm that they forgot and will get in done first thing in the morning. Not the end of the world I've been going here for years and always had great service. Had an appointment at 730am the following week for some recommended routine maintenance and a detail. Got a call my vehicle would be ready in 45 minutes that was at 5 pm. I was unable to get up there so I picked it up the next day. It was not detailed. I showed the assistant manager they offered to take it back but I had to leave. Next day I called spoke to TJ who insisted I bring my vehicle back. Against my better judgment I brought my vehicle back at 9 am. I called at 715pm and was told it was ready. When I arrived I was told it was not ready and no one knew who I possibly could have talked to. The manager came out and sat down (eating a peach) asked me what was going on. I would have rather he finished his snack break. After 20/30 minutes of them looking everywhere for my keys my vehicle was brought out. NOT DETAILED. And my sunshade was again off track. The manager was witness to this. The next day I called left messages on a few voicemails but finally was able to contact TJ. I insisted on a refund but still had to bring my vehicle in to have the shade fixed again. I did receive a refund but have lost all trust in this establishment and its customer service. read more

I have owned over 30 new cars with six different brands and this is the first time since my first car I am excited to pickup a new car - a Nissan Rogue. Ben, Taijah and the entire staff demonstrated patience for over three hours and let me walk the lot, show papers from what I thought was the best deal and let me transact at my own pace. I'm not an easy buyer but Ben handled my concerns perfectly. I you are foolish to buy a Nissan anywhere else in the Chicagoland area! Lastly, I researched Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Ford and Hyundai before stepping foot at Nissan. He took the time to greet me and I told Bob upfront that I past negative experiences at dealerships (poor guy, I started with having a jaded mindset) and he made me comfortable and took the time to answer all of my questions. **I am posting this review prior to making contact with dealer and will be updating as I go through this process** I just purchased a used 2013 Infiniti G37 from this dealer. The car has a few bumps and bruises which I can live with. However, I have already noticed (and I should've noticed when I picked up vehicle two days after purchase) that the front tires were swapped out and have barely any tread left on them. When sales guy Larnell showed me car during test drive the tires were fine. Very interesting and shady too. Also, I am not hearing a strange rattling when I hit a bump or swerve. Sounds like something loose or rocks caught spmwhere in exhaust. Not sure. When I signed paperwork two days before picking up car, finance guy praised Hawkinson for being loyal and providing excellent customer service in order to ensure repeat clients. BEWARE THE BAIT AND SWITCH! The online consultants will tell you anything to get you in the door - but different story when you arrive... My wife and I saw online advertisement for a 2015 Nissan Rogue with $3000 MSRP discount and 0% for 60 months- specifically we wanted the model with 3rd row seating because we have 3 kids that seem to keep growing and getting bigger. We emailed them to inquire and my wife went back and for with Mike, an "internet sales consultant" for a couple days. He assured her that they had the model with 3rd row in stock, and I made an appointment to meet him late the next afternoon. I sent him the stock number of the car, and he ran the #s for me and told me that I'd be looking at a price of around $300 a month which was in my budget. Next day I get to the dealership and was told mike was on lunch, so Nick, a salesman came to "get me started on paperwork". Nick showed me the car while Mike was "finishing lunch", and I immediately saw that it was indeed NOT a 3rd row model... It began... Nick took me inside and eventually I figured out that Mike must have been a computer program and not a real person, as their tactic was clearly for the internet consultant to bait me in the door for a salesman.. They brought around another Rogue model and told me that there shouldn't be a price difference from what I was told online. They wouldn't however just tell me the sticker price of the vehicle, just kept saying it should be the same or only a "couple hundred" different.. Mmmmmmkay. After a test drive they ran my #'s and informed me that this car would be $375/month. Mmmmmkay cause I was just told that it would be the same as the online price right. Come to find out, the price I was quoted online was for the model without 3rd row, and the one they were now pushing on me was nearly $3000 more!! They tried to make it seem like I was getting a deal by saying they were giving me an All-wheel-drive at a two-wheel price, however the issue here is that I made my price range and needs clear, and somehow they thought I'd magically be able to spend more! Additionally, the discount on this one wasn't $3000, it was only $1500 because that only applies to "select models". Needless to say I left without making a purchase, and will be visiting CarMax tomorrow.. read more

We have ALWAYS had a great experience here and I've gone on to recommend them to about 5 friends who have also been thoroughly impressed and gone back to buy other vehicles. When our cars need service (Nissan or otherwise) it's worth the drive from Frankfort because we know we will be treated fairly and that we won't be talked into unnecessary repairs or service.. Had great communication with Melissa throughout the process had a rough start during the process of purchase but did not involve Melissa. Rick was great in the final process of purchase but disappointment in the lack of follow through after my purchase. I left a couple messages in the GM Gregs inbox he never bothered to email me or return my call. Rick Melissa were great during the purchase process & I thank them for their great customer service. I received no call or email & it took message upon message for anyone to get back to me in regards to the leather being put into my wife's car that was negotiated in the purchase. Now the process of the appt for the leather was another hassle it took a total of 2 hours 1 hr standing in the rain outside the enterprise facility when we had a scheduled appt. The process after our purchase has been very disappointing. Upon finally getting the leather installed I carefully inspected the leather & found a fine razor cut on the seat it's been weeks & the issue still has not been resolved we purchased 28 May 20 I am leaving this review on today's date of 24 July 20 I'd also like to thank Stephen lee who has been very apologetic & helpful! My wife & I are in the market yet again for another vehicle for our daughter we found a vehicle at hawkinson that we were interested in when I mentioned it to my wife she said "absolutely not" again this is due to the disappointment in lack of follow through. I went to this dealer with my fiancee, who really needs a new car. He had his car serviced last month and it wouldn't start in the parking lot after he paid for it. Later we went back so he could look at some new 2010 cars and the final cost they made for his payment was so high, even though he was trading in his car and putting money from his savings for extra downpayment.
