Consumers beware. We brought our 2014 Ford Escape to Sutton Ford on January 28, 2026, because it was shuddering and shutting off once warm. After several days with limited communication, we were told that diagnostic testing identified a coolant sensor issue as the cause. Based on that explanation, we approved the recommended repairs. On February 3, we were informed the vehicle was fixed and ready for pickup. We paid $1,180.55 before receiving the keys. However, immediately upon starting the vehicle in the dealership lot, it continued shuddering and shut off. The tire warning light we were told had been repaired was still on. We had to leave the vehicle as it was inoperable. The following day, we were told by the service manager that a full inspection had not initially been completed. Shortly after, the diagnosis changed to a transmission issue with an $8,000 replacement quote. The invoice indicates that no post-repair road test was performed before the vehicle was released to us as "repaired." The original issue was not resolved, and the vehicle remains inoperable. We encourage others to ask detailed questions, request written confirmation of repairs performed, and confirm that a post-repair road test has been completed before paying and leaving the lot. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience after purchasing my vehicle from this dealership. At the time of purchase, I was promised two free oil changes as part of my deal. Today, when I came in to use one of those oil changes, I was told there is no record of it in their system. To make matters worse, the sales associate who originally helped me is no longer with the company, and it feels like that's being used as an excuse to avoid honoring what was promised. This situation makes me feel completely misled and undervalued as a customer. Promises made during a sale should be documented and honored regardless of staffing changes. TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE AFTER 2.5K MI I purchased a vehicle from Sutton Ford on 7/28/2025 (For Blue Advantage Certified 2018 Ford Expedition Limited, Mileage: 60,234). My wife wanted a reliable and safe Mom vehicle while we welcomed our second baby. The check engine light was on when we got the vehicle home after purchase. Combining the time where we could drive the vehicle under warranty (20+ days held in Sutton Ford's possession, mentioned a bad o2 sense and vehicle went to non-Ford shop). The vehicle hasn't even went through its first manufacture suggested oil change. On Saturday, (1/24/26) the vehicle died with total engine failure needing a total replacement. The vehicles mileage was only at 62,818 miles (literally has only been driven 2,584 miles and hadn't hit its next oil change life cycle. I would be very leery of buying any used car from Sutton Ford or any vehicle for that matter. To make it worse the general sales manager said ownership/principal would not meet or call me to help. He mentioned FORD MOTOR COMPANY could use their Goodwill. He gave me a 1-800 number without any guidance as their customer because he said he didn't know what to do. I purchased my F150 at Sutton Ford with a package including two free oil changes. Two free oil changes were promised by their GM Mr. Adam through back and force negotiations. It was confirmed at the purchase date that the sale rep will post the oil change credits to my account within a week. But I never received so far in middle of March. I have been contacting their Financial Manager Mr. Pablo since Jan. 22nd, all I got are answers such like, "I will look into it", "the sale rep left company" "I was on vacation" "I will ask the Adam- the GM". "The two oil changes not written on contract" I lost my patience and emailed directly to GM Adam and got no answers so far. Read the fine point number they matched the told me I had won and I just needed to come in claim my prize . Suuton Ford sold me a lemon. My 2014 Nissan Altima was purchased Sept '21 for around $15k. In 23 months of ownership, I was given billing for repairs in excess of $5k in repairs... nothing was covered by Sutton Ford's "24 month warranty." The service department hand waved me every time I had issues, saying I had to call and sort it out with the warranty company myself. The entire underside was rusted and the entire rear suspension was cracked through and going to collapse. It looked like what I'd expect a WWII jeep's underside would look like, not a car with less than 10 years driving. This didn't happen overnight nor during my daily driving (10 miles/day to and from work, all on paved road) contribute to these issues. Let me be clear: 2 years ago, a professional inspection of this car would probably determined the car barely drivable, and no one with a conscience would have deemed it sellable. They are either too incompetent or too dishonest to find or disclose these issues. Less than 2 years after the purchase, I traded in this lemon at a huge loss. The only difference I see between Sutton Ford and someone who would stick a gun in my face and take my money is honesty. Because a mugger would honestly do what Sutton Ford did to me through paperwork. I have made sound financial decisions in the last couple years where I have saved money and paid down debt. The purchase I made from Sutton Ford has erased all of those gains and will continue to leave me worse off for the next 5 years going forward. It will have lasting effect on my emergency savings, any other money I'd be putting aside, money to fix up my place. It's all 5 years away. The attitude I have been met with at every turn has that I should never have expected good service because I was dumb enough to buy from Sutton Ford. Not sure if it is incompetence or dishonesty, but I know I can't afford to find out. I will never buy a used or new car from you again and I will go out of my way to tell how bad my experience was to anyone buying a car. I really feel like I have to warn the consumers. Money in history has never been harder to come by, yet everything is more expensive. My wife feel in love with a vehicle which they had on the lot. It was over priced but she needed a vehicle. To get to the meat of the story, the thing I needed the most or it was a deal breaker was to have a warranty that was extended for the length of how long o had to make payments that covered everything except normal wear and tear, that would set up a rent a car and cover it if a problem arises. Moving to now, all the lights went on and there is a problem, not only a problem but a recall problem. The warranty doesn't handle car rentals at all I'm now told, it gives me 35 per day that comes out of my pocket first. What should have been a quick process as I did my pre-qualification online and money was sorted, took 4 hours at the dealership. I was told not to walk around in certain parts of the dealership for no reason. They tried adding on additional warranties without my permission totaling over $3500. There was an unexpected and unwanted dealer option of $2000 added i could not remove. Just a bad experience. I haven't had to buy a car from a dealership where I didn't know someone who worked there in a long time.... Happy I got the car I wanted, however, I will NOT be returning to this particular dealership EVER again! From the beginning, my salesman, Vince Yzaguirre, was as dry as a bone. Went for a test drive in the car: Car was being used as a demo car (and it actually had 2,000 more miles on the vehicle than listed) by one of their employees, had dirty socks with golf clubs in the back and smelled like Asian food as we drove it--nothing like entering a car during Covid without any wiping down of even a door handle! Got his brother, the Used Sales Manager, Chuck Yzaguirre, involved in the process. Told me the extra costs (Security window etching, paint protection and window protection) that were tallied in the cost ($1700!!!!!!) were mandatory by their dealership and non-negotiable. Really??? Mandatory? Chuck 'gave me the lowest finance rate'....hahaha... In reality, days later-- actually had the rate and loan approved by another vendor almost 2 Full Points lower. Needless to say, they were not happy about me seeking out another loan elsewhere....and that was evident as I returned to pick up my car.... Once there to pick up car, there was not an extra key for the car. Asked for this to be provided and refused to make it happen, courtesy of the Sales Manager, David Shoup. Customer Service is not their forte nor are their personalities when David said he basically gave away the car and lost money....he claims that my purchase included the 'pre-certified vehicle warranty'. David Shoup quoted me that this warranty was actually an additional $1595 to include. Once I drive away from the dealership, I also noted the fuel level was not even a half tank of gas....please also note that there was never a thank you from any of three 3 gentlemen mentioned above.... After listening to my needs (all wheel drive, navigation, and of course color) he walked me through my options and what would be the perfect car for me. He informed me of the current incentive, and we proceeded to car lot for me to take a closer look and test drive (the best part!) The following Saturday I was able to drive away in my 2016 Ford Fusion (I've named it Beast). Lester was such a huge help, before I left the dealership he showed me how to use all of the new features in my 2016 and even helped me set my memory seat! They marketed a used vehicle at $29,800 but when we went there to buy it....surprise surprise the wanted to add some sort of treatment to the paint for $500 and some other treatment to the glass for another $500 and then a warranty for $1600 and some other nonsense and the price went up $6,000! We told them no and then magically the price became only $2,000 more and we told them no again.
