I'm glad they joined the neighborhood, Everyone needs a pair of roller skates....lol I'm kidding. It is a great way to burn calories while rollerskating. I hope that positive energy and positive vibes will remain in this business so that people can come and enjoy themselves safely while having fun. However, business owners just need to take more time to fix the necessary safety precautions to properly ensure that everyone doesn't hurt themselves. There was a metal piece on the floor that was indiscreetly covered by a shoddy rug and that needs to be addressed because it's an accident waiting to happen. Walking in feels like stepping straight back into childhood in the best way possible. Neon lights, funky carpet, bright colors, all the nostalgic roller rink vibes you could want. One thing I really love is that unlike most rinks that only do one adults-only night a week, Xanadu switches to 21+ after 8 PM almost every night. It ends up feeling way more like a nightclub than a traditional roller rink, and you don't have to worry about drinking around kids or dodging little ones flying across the floor. They've also got a concession stand with Frito pies, four different kinds of hot dogs, and plenty of snacks if you need a break. Definitely check the website before you go because this isn't the kind of roller rink where you just show up and pay seven bucks to skate. They host different events almost every night, and each one has its own cover charge. It's usually somewhere between $11 and $25, and can go up to around $33 if there's a musical guest, but honestly it's always felt worth it to me. I've caught some great local performers there along with iconic '90s dance acts like Ultra Naté. Lockers are $5 and you'll need a credit card to use them. I 100% recommend this place whether you're looking for a fun night out, trying to pick up a new hobby, or just want to do something different with friends. I swear once you go and see everyone doing tricks, showing off, and having the best time, you're going to want to come back and learn a few moves yourself. For skating, they have a large, oval wooden roller rink floor, just they had in the 70's & 80's all around NYC and the boroughs. Killer DJ's & awesome song selections keep the energy going for both concerts & skating. This is a truly unique spot that's perfect for young kids & everyone else up to their 60's or so. (I'd cut it off after that as it's loud & most Seniors wouldn't like the volume & probably shouldn't be roller skating, unless they really know what they're doing). Everyone was positive, enthusiastic, supportive and friendly! There were impromptu conga lines, electric slide dances and smiles aplenty. I must have skated for about 3 hours with only the occasional 3 minute break to catch my breath. In case you got hungry or thirsty, there were small mom n pop food and drink vendors by the entrance charging very reasonable prices. The best part was being amongst such talented skaters! I've only been skating three times now but I feel like I leveled up just by watching others here. They received my payment but never responded to emails or phone calls. But thats not why they earned the one star. Let me start by saying that I spoke to both coaches and they said "its ok" and then I'm assuming the husband of the boss. He told me to talk to the coaches and the owner Jocelyne said she will talk to the coaches, which she never did. When you sign up you can choose white or blue jerseys. We chose blue. During the lessons the coaches would split the team by color and there would be 7 white shirts and 5 blue shirts (two blue shirts using skate trainers). For 5 or more sessions we had 3 blues vs 7 white jerseys. The blue jersey would lose every game by double digits and lucky to score one goal. I've ask the coaches to split the teams evenly by having some white jerseys wear blue scrimmage vest, that happened only once which the blue team won and my kids could not wait for the next class, they were so excited. The next class they where back to 7 vs 3 and and the next 3 weeks the same. Both of my kids don't want to play ice hockey anymore so we've stopped going, foregoing the rest of the lessons. LIC ICE broke my kids and took away the enjoyment of ice hockey. How can you let them get destroyed every game, hearing them complain even cry and do the same thing every lessons. I would had considered continuing with LIC ICE and even paying the tuition that was now doubled the price with the "one hour in the workout room" if you just focused more on the kids want and love of the game instead of crushing them and harassing me about signing up for next season. I even overlooked that your rink is really meant for 3 on 3 no where close to 10+ kids plus two coaches.

There we were, a former division 3 starter and a former high school JV back up point guard going head to head in spot ones, giving the Manhattan skyline that stood tall in the background a show to start the day. The infamous "Battle for the Brooklyn Bridge," as some pundits are calling it. We were on one of the five courts, and there I was playing my typical game dribbling the air out of the ball to get a struggle bucket. He was lowkey cooking me I can't even lie. His 3pt percentage from treball was odee shooting hesi hang pulls... I would never say this to his face but he is a wonderful person and a gifted basketball player... it's a shame he's 5'6. After the war of the behemoths, endorphins flowing from a good sweat, we just sat there taking in the sites and talking about how much we love the game. Basketball genuinely makes me feel like a little kid again. It gives me that pure happiness and sense of purpose that I have spent my adult life trying to replicate in something else.
