She loved all of it but she always says she loves watching the big kids when you ask her what she loves most about dance. The recitals are beautiful and I get why she loves watching the older kids too. The music, choreography, and skills are fun and captivating. Southstar Dance Academy is one of our favorite establishments in Lawton. The staff is so friendly and Ms Shaelyn is very patient with the little dancers. My child enjoys dancing because of this studio. She grew bored of so many other activities but SSDA has held her attention week after week. We are so sad to move bc SSDA has given us great memories but if and when we move back to Oklahoma, we know we'll be back at SSDA.

Unbeknownst to me, this attraction focuses on Oklahoma's aquatic life AND native wildlife. I thought it was just an aquarium, so I was surprised to see river otters, snakes, spiders and even a bobcat and coyote! We even saw Madagascar hissing cockroaches! I wasn't expecting to see all these other creatures at all, so it was a nice surprise. The butterfly exhibit was closed during my visit. Regarding the quails, we could either hand feed them or throw food in their direction. The staff said they'll come right up to us. They didn't. Other people in the enclosure had no luck either. There were walking trails outside of the main building, so wear comfortable clothing, footwear and bring sun protection. Admission: $12 per adult (with military discount) $12 per Youth (6-12 years old) Quail food: $1 Note: There is a credit card surcharge! 69 photos/vids should be included, although I'm pretty sure Yelp won't post them all with my review.

We had a nice little getaway here in a medium-size cabin. The cabin was clean with beautiful rustic…read morewood craftsmanship. It had a bedroom and a loft with another bed upstairs (both beds were full size). The kitchen has a microwave and stove, but no oven. It also has a refrigerator. There is a small TV with Direct TV if there's a game or something you just can't miss. There is also decent cell service (we have AT&T) and WiFi access. The bathroom had just a shower, which isn't a big deal for many people, but something to keep in mind if you have kids that only take baths. You have to bring your own linens. This is located on base at Fort Sill, but I believe people without a military ID can access the area with a visitors pass. In addition to cabins are tent sites and RV sites. You don't have to be camping to use the beach and other amenities like the playgrounds after paying an entrance fee. The beach has a lifeguard on duty and a facility with restrooms/showers. There is a little room for improvement when it comes to maintenance. There was peeling paint on our cabin, spiderwebs in many places outside, and a piece missing on our bench on the porch. There were seagull feathers and (dog?) poop all over the beach. Two of the three playgrounds were covered with overgrown grass (but to be fair one had a sign saying it was undergoing maintenance). Overall, I thought it was a great value at $90 per night. It's nothing fancy, but our cabin was perfect for "glamping" and the area is beautiful with picturesque views of Mount Scott. It was a nice, relaxing escape and I look forward to visiting again!
