We love World Market furniture, food and decor, but every department seems understaffed, the employees seem overworked, and the lines can get pretty long because of a lack of cashiers. We purchased two of the Kendall chairs at World Market, and it took them 15 minutes to assist us, even after we told them we were about to spend $400 on furniture. We love the chairs, but didn't love the process at this location for making the purchase. We'll be back because it's the closest World Market, but there could be some improvement on the customer service front. read more

This store really clearly works hard to create a culture of customer service. The staff is always friendly and smiling, and this makes a big difference. They have a wide variety of merchandise, from coffee to wine to furniture. There are lots of different imported items, and good things to make up gift baskets. The sales are good, and getting a free "explorer" membership is definitely worth it, as you get a lot of coupons. It is a fun and pleasant place to shop. read more

I love this store. Lots of cool things from around the world... knick knacks, rugs, furniture, food, beer, wine, coffee, tea, candy, chocolate, cards, gift bags, kitchen stuff. A good place to find a unique gift for someone. Pricing just depends... sometimes you can find good prices, sometimes it seems steep. Wine prices are excellent. Imported chocolates are expensive (but worth it!). This place has something for everyone, from kids to dads. We love going here at Christmas for stocking stuffers. read more

Came here a couple weeks back to find a new dinning room table, I saw one for $660 and I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it then as we are leaving I look online to if there was other option and see that is actually on sale for $249 so I call and inquire. The lady checks for me and says yes but we only have the floor model left and you can have it but we need to break it down. So we turn around go up there and we had some tools with us and the staff jumped into action and started to lay out cardboard and assisted my hubby in taking it apart. Then they scanned and saw that the match bench was on sale too and then tracked down another one for me in RR which was still in the box; SCORE! So I got a new dinning table and two matching benches at an amazing savings... BUT wait it gets better as I am checking out the associate asks me if I am an "Explorer Member" and asked if I would like to join and explains the amazing savings and perks. Needless to say I signed up right then and there AND I saved another 20% so I got all of that for $400 bucks. Pros: great savings, AMAZING helpful staff, variety of products, quality of goods and they have a "member savings" program. Cons: Only issues I that when we went in there the table has the original pricing on there, had I not looked online I wouldn't have known to inquire... however this worked in my favor so I almost could count that as a pro lol read more

I absolutely love this place! Back in the 80s my Daddy would take me to Pier 1, and this is what it used to be like! I buy my rugs from here because they are great quality and truly washable (make sure to wash aline in cold water because new rugs bleed several times due to intensity of the dyes). The prices are insanely reasonable too. One of my all time favorite stores. read more

I came to World Market for the first time today and I fell in love! They have all kinds of unique home decor items along with beautiful pieces of furniture. The back section has lots of different imported coffee, wine, and treats. The employees were very friendly from the moment I walked in the store. It's definitely not an inexpensive store but it is easy to tell that the items they sell are high quality. I can't wait to return to shop again!! read more

Yikes! Termites in my World Market purchase. Be wary of what you purchase here. About 8 years ago I purchased a mirror from World Market that had been imported from Peru. Turns out there were dry wood termites hiding in the product and once they finished eating the inside of the wood frame mirror they started eating through the wall of my house where it was hanging. Very expensive repair from my $100 mirror purchase. read more

Cost Plus is a good name because it's all overpriced. At one time the wine was a great deal, but now the wine prices are no better than you would find at the grocery store. The goods are mostly junky. They charge Pier 1 prices, but the items aren't as nice. The food selection is excellent, but check the dates carefully because many items are quite old. The wonderland of food at Specs is much, much fresher. Cost Plus World Market started as a good idea, but the bean counters jacked up the profit margins to the point that it is no longer worth shopping there. read more

First, there were no associates anywhere on the floor. There was no way to ask anyone for help with anything. Then as I was checking out with 7 bottles of wine, the mean cashier did not even care to get a wine box for it, then she told me she had no paper bags or cardboard bottle-holders even though I could CLEARLY see them both under the cash register. World Market is fab. I came here today looking for some home decor ideas for my new apartment. They have really cute things- everything from dishes and aprons to bathroom fixtures and rugs. I love the designs- it looks like stuff from Anthropologie but it's a 1/4 of the price! Furthermore they have a large selection of wine and specialty foods and the people working are super friendly and helpful. I'm thinking of buying some furniture from them so I'll report back on how that goes. Check it out for sure- it's also a great place to shop for gifts! read more

Wow I had a great experience here that you don't really get many other places. I was checking out a rug and Cathy was one of the most helpful people I've ever had at any store period. For someone who has a career in retail I still need my retail therapy and this World Market is it! This store has some of the best employees I have ever meet and has had them for years. Even when I do see new faces they have consistently great service in a relaxed atmosphere. I have even repeatedly tried to recruit them! The products are good quality and value. I'll start by saying I LOVE World Market. I use their rewards program and coupons religiously and buy snacks and beer there 2-4x per month. I stopped by this location over the weekend to check out their furniture sale I saw in my email. While browsing, a sales associate asked if we needed help and I said "actually yes, I saw a chair online similar to this style but the legs had wheels and had plain buttons, do you know which one I'm talking about?" He nicely said he was brand new and would find someone that would probably know. He comes back with an obviously already annoyed coworker and they have a short chat in front of us before she addresses me and very rudely says "Well if you don't know what you're looking for I CANT help you!" Wow, my jaw dropped and I said "Ok, no big deal, he was walking by and asked if we needed help and I casually asked if he could help me find it." She sighs and says "Follow me" and sprints across the store to the front computer. At this point she's rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing and I just want to get out of there so I say it's not a big deal I'll look another time. She insists I look at the website so after a few minutes of searching we finally find it and she says ya that's discontinued but we should be getting in soon. What? She's obviously hiding her name tag from me now as she can tell I've been offended from her condescending attitude. I don't even care about the chair anymore and have been made to feel like I was in trouble by a young, rude employee for the last 10 minutes so finally we leave. Usually, WM is a treat and I have always been greeted warmly and professionally. I just wanted to get out of the house that day, Father's Day, with my husband and our newborn. We were both shocked at our treatment from the employee, Alex. People who don't like other people shouldn't be working in customer service. read more

Excellent customer service. Every time I've been here, I've been treated so nicely. Each staff member goes out if her/his way to thoroughly find answers to my questions.
