I love this place. I really do. The ethnic flavor of all the products offered. Imports from just about everywhere! Great wine selection. I love the things like the glasses and bowls, place settings, furniture and decor items. Especially the Spanish stuff. World Market is one of my favorite get aways when I my daughter is home with her dad. I can walk around and piece together my dream house in peace and quiet. World Market has everything from specialty wines, coffees, foods, decor, furniture, vintage items I could go on and on. They truly have it all. They remind me of a Pier One but on a broader spectrum. They have roomy aisles and you can truly enjoy the shopping experience. Now that I'm closer to buying my house in California I'm starting to look even further into what decor I want. I love CPWM...but not in Redlands. I received a calendar for Xmas but needed to return. Brought the original receipt from brother. NO, 1) I can't have money and 2) I can't put the money back on credit card even though I had brother on phone with card number. They said they can't type in card number, which I do not believe. I bet if I was purchasing an item and my card wouldn't swipe they would punch that number in! What is the point of a receipt then? I go to world market several times a month just to bulk up on lychee soda and kukaboora licorice. They have a huge selection of Japanese snacks and candy and since I have eaten these snacks in japan, find a place to carry them has become quite nostalgic for me. And if your a hello kitty lover, you'll be in heaven when you reach the candy aisle. It's also the perfect place to go if you need to make a gift basket since they have aisles dedicated to basket size gifts and snacks. They even have tiny bottles of champagne. read more

I probably spent over an hour here instead of looking for shoes. I love their random collection of international candies, cookies, spices, chips, etc. I have to come back to peruse their cookware/pots, cooking supplies, teas, coffees, and decorations. I spent a few minutes at the counter and left when the cashier was too busy talking to another cashier. I spent that time looking at the kitchen stuff again. Multiple calls with this manager we came down the hill to pick up our product and they told us they sold it to someone else and will give us a rain check. I had let them know that we were going out of the country for two months and wanted to have that in place for the people who were going to be staying at our home. Extremely disappointed with this customer service here is an incredible amount of work to order the product we had because it was misrepresented as all in one so I stepped up and paid for the additional pieces of this outdoor furniture and then they sold it out from under me and offered a rain check when I had told them we would be gone. And on top of that that we had come down the hill to meet them extremely disappointed Christian was the person I worked with. He told me his manager decided to sell it to someone else and give us a rain check despite the fact that we told them we were coming over an hour to pick it up and we're down the hill to get it read more

Was in line to purchase an item but the customer in front of me had a basket full so the cashier called for help. There was 3 people behind me in line but the backup checker got the last person in line to help. This is very bad customer service . The customer in front of me then had a item with no price, Oh my God, the people behind me were checked out by now. I really was mad by now and left my items in the display case and walked out. Yesterday I stopped in this amazing store on my way to Target. Their outdoor/summer section is sooo colorful and beautiful! I love how their patio umbrellas are interchangeable. As I was exploring the food section, an employee named Mel approached me and asked if I was finding everything ok. She grabbed a cart for me (I had a lot of stuff in my hands lol) and showed me some new products she got in from France for Bastille Day (spelling?). I then started asking about those Hawaiian Maui Onion chips, and she gave me a really great recipe that I actually made last night! Who knew that crunching up those chips with a little pano bread crumbs would be such a delicious coating for baked chicken?!! Great customer service! Beautiful store! I visited this store for the first time on Sunday 8/9/15. I loved my experience so much I decided to start a yelp review account to let everyone know! First off, I have never heard of this store. I just came across it as I was shopping at target with some friends. That being said, they should definitely advertise more, because they need more exposure. Upon entering the store, I was kindly greeted by a cashier named Jolie. I started browsing through kitchen gadgets section when I was approached by a female employee (Tameka?);she asked if I was finding everything ok and handed me a shopping basket. I then migrated to the alcohol section where there was an older tall male employee stocking wine and talking with another customer. And then I discovered the food section! I am a die hard foodie, and there were a lot of items here that I have never tried. They have unusual flavored of kitkats, lots of pocky, some sort of pudding thing called "spotted dick" (yes, I'm serious), etc. and they have a huge selection of old-time sodas in glass bottles! A female employee named Mel approached me and asked if I needed help with anything. She showed me a Japanese market night like section with all kinds of pocky and noodles and tea. (I bought like 1 of almost everything from this display). Mel was very knowledgeable of the foods in this department and was very friendly and helpful. She signed me up for their rewards card program (FREE) and can't wait to see what coupons etc I'll get. I will be back next week to stock up on more snacks! Overall this store carries a little bit of everything without being a Walmart. It's very cute and stylish, and employees are very friendly (which is very rare in retail industry). I purchased mainly food and kitchen items on this trip, so I'm not sure about other items like furniture being good price etc. I will shop here again and again just off this experience so far! Whenever I come visit Redlands I always make a stop at Citrus Plaza (the main place to be in Redlands other than DTR) and go to every store in that first block. Target all the way to Barnes and Noble. In the middle is World Market, one of my favorite stores for the home and also for international treats. In terms of home shopping, its almost like a Bed Bath and Beyond and Pier 1 Imports mixed together. They have all the needs for your home... bathroom, dining, bedroom, living room, outdoors... but all... worldly? I can't think of the best word but just know its all pretty lol. As for food and drink the offer many foods from snacks to candy to spices.... everything you can't find in your regular supermarket. In addition they have an extensive beer and wine selection which I like to check out every now and then. As for pricing its not cheap IKEA or Target prices... its moderate. However they have sales all the time, and if you join their explorer club you get special discounts. read more

Alec, the gentleman who runs the wine section there really knows his stuff, he is very helpful and very kind. Instead of trying to just give me an expensive bottle like most places have recently he asked what I liked and helped me find a few bottles he thought I would like. I'm taking away a couple of stars because in the past couple of years they've really gone downhill. The store is poorly stocked (I went in for things they're known for ie market umbrellas and stands, cushions, dining room seating, etc.) and couldn't find anything, yet they are available online. Things that I have purchased (outdoor furniture) did not hold up well at all-side tables started buckling after 6 months, lounges dried out and cracked in under a year (in spite of my using the wood conditioner they sell.) Their prices used to seem reasonable, but now with the economy they seem high. 80 bucks for a moderate quality chaise lounge cushion? I found comparable for $50 elsewhere. A couple of the salespeople are very nice, but I have also had some very bizarre encounters with strange people they've hired. I shop at this Cost Plus often with no issues. The employees are normally friendly and helpful but that was not the case today! I found a single pink placemat on their "clearance" shelf marked with a red discount sticker. I could not see the original price but thought the sale price was reasonable. When I took it to the register, the clerk struggled to peel it back so he could scan the bar code. When he couldn't get it all the way off he asked another clerk to help. THIS guy looked at the red sticker and said it had been moved from something else, then he peeled it off and scanned the item which registered full price. He asked if I wanted to buy it at that price and I said "No, the only reason I wanted it was because it was discounted! He said he would go compare the price to others like it but as mentioned, it was the only one! He replied that people "mess with the stickers" which implied that I am dishonest and was trying to steal from the store. Completely insulted, I told both clerks to cancel my sale. That and the fact that Cost Plus cashiers cannot ring up a simple sale without asking for your birth date (WHY?) will keep me from shopping there again. Instead, I'll go to Pier One, Bed, Bath & Beyond and anywhere else in the same mall where they treat their customers with respect. read more
