The TJ Maxx in San Bernardino off 40th and Waterman is one of my favorite spots to browse when I'm heading up the mountain. I always seem to have the best luck here and somehow walk out with things I didn't know I needed but now can't live without. The store is clean, organized enough to keep things fun without being chaotic, and there's just something satisfying about the treasure hunt vibe. As a long-time TJ Maxx customer, I believe the most irresponsible and deceptive practice is how they handle rewards certificates. COSTCO does it BEST! We can't access TJ Maxx rewards certificates through the TJ Maxx iPhone app. Just check Apple App Reviews to see how many ONE-STAR reviews the TJ Maxx app has! We're all incredibly frustrated by the difficulty of accessing our rewards certificates from TJ Stupid Maxx iPhone App. Because of this issue alone, I rarely shop at T.J. Maxx. For the same prices, we can buy these items at Costco, Amazon, Wayfair, Marshalls, Ross, and other retailers. TJ Maxx's deceptive approach to making rewards certificates very difficult to access has been a significant obstacle for many years! They would require their customers to bring in printed certificates or shown in TJ HORRIBLE MAXX APP. which many know is their iPhone App been the worst for years. read more

Fantastic TJ location! Huge and Super clean with well organized and tidy shelves of merchandise and very helpful staff! One of the best TJ locations I've been to - most of them, like your typical discount stores, are not so well organized, but this one sure stands out! Store staff told me they try hard to keep their store nice and well stocked. It's great to buy from people who work hard and take their job seriously. Clothing is their main line; Excellent selection of everyday and casual wear. Also a large variety of home goods, from beddings, towels, to pots and pans. Great selection of festive items such as Easter , Halloween and holiday goods. There customer service is horrible. I made a return on November 4th. I was told the refund would be put on my card. She told me it would take 3-10 days. After 2 weeks i called the store. I bounced to 4 different people. The last one being the manager. She was rude and dismissive. She told me the refund was made on the 4th. I told her i didnt receive it. She told me to call customer service which i did. They were rude also. They ended up telling me it cane take up to a month. So ive waited over a month. Still no refund. Picked up some facial masks, scented makeup remover wipes, and a few makeup items. This store has a lot of reasonably priced makeup and household items. Once in a while you'll find name branded goods for a lot less. I love that they have St Patrick's Day and Easter decor out for you to chose from. Most GHETTO TJ MAXX store I have ever been in!! And thee worst customer service I have ever experienced in any retail setting! I should've walked out & went to spend my money elsewhere! Even after their most obvious anti-theft employee followed me around the store while I shopped, I still dropped almost 2 bills in the store! I think he thought I was trying to steal a pair of earrings. But in actuality, I was inspecting them a bit closer because I noticed one hoop looked kinda bent. After I confronted him, well more like questioned why he was watching me - he had the audacity to ask me why I was nervous. I live near this TJ maxx and come here often , there customer service is not to greet . A couple of times have they left security tags on my items , once I didn't realize until 2 mths later when my son finally got into it . I usually get receipts also emailed but this time I didn't. Had such crappy service trying to get it off and it was in July when just reopened from Covid-19. Wish they got better customer service but still go back as I use shop kicks and love getting points for walking in. read more

This store is large and has a great selection. I didn't buy any clothes and spent most of my time at the Home Goods section. You just never know what you're going to find at a TJ Maxx. You just have to go with some vague idea (like "I need a large white bowl") and then see what this slot machine type of a store will offer. There was a great selection of things you probably don't need but will be tempted to buy. On this last trip, I saw a 3-tier tray to hold finger sandwiches in case you decide to throw an English afternoon tea party. It's kind of fun walking around and killing time at this store. read more

For the area that this TJ Maxx is in...It is so clean and the workers are so friendly! This is my favorite, the new one in Redlands isn't even this nice. I'm not sure if TJ Maxx has new management and staff but I've been to this location 3 times and all 3 times I have had very pleasant experiences. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the ladies at the register and also by the very nice security lady. Being honest though, it was my first time ever visiting a TJ Maxx. I could see them around in Orange County but never thought of going in. I was hesitant about coming in to this one in particular just because of the cruel reviews, but I am honestly happy to say it was the complete opposite for me. Those three times I shopped here were all at different times of day, yet their customer service stayed consistent.. I went crazy and thought about how my bank account would be mad at me if I bought everything I thought was cute, so I took it easy. But please believe me when I tell you that the husband got like 100 pictures of every item I liked and told him I'd be back for those. Lol Great experience, friendly staff, clean location, great prices, what more would you want? read more

I was going to purchase a pack of earrings but I noticed a pair was missing. I asked if they'll give a discount just because it didn't come with all the pairs. They stated that they don't give discounts on jewelry even if there is stuff missing or damaged. I came here on Saturday the day after Black Friday and they were on holiday hours, BUT I guess the store didn't get the memo. I arrived at store to find out the stores doors weren't open. I stood outside and double checked the hours. The associate was telling me to come in, but the doors were still locked. After about 30 mins past the posted opening time they finally opened the doors. I didn't get a welcome to the store or an apology for not being opened on time. I finally got a greeting after two associates walked pass me and I was in the store for 20 mins. I gave 1 star for the warm and friendly fitting attendant, 1 star because I found a perfume that I love in the clearance section. The last star was for the nice cashier who checked me out. The selection of kids and baby clothes is very, very limited. The shoe selection lately has also been kinda rough. But this is a good place to check for nice brands at low prices. They have this security guard posted at the front door all the time, which I guess is understandable given the location, but it's still kinda weird. I came in for their BIG CLEARANCE event on wednesday. Prices are a few bucks off but not the discounts they claim like at other stores. Seasonal is a good price, but when I went to pay the cashier was totally confrontational! First I asked that each transaction be discounted individually so I can see the actual price. She said put everything up here and I will do it. She started scanning everything with out acknowledging my request. When she gave me total she had only discounted 1 item and charged me over 200 dollars! I asked her again and she fixed the problem but not before being argumentative. I reminded ger of my request and told her its about 10 dollars off on the total and her reply was YOU GOT OVER 200 worth of stuff discounted. Excuse me that was completely irrelevant! Completely rude unprofessional and argumentative. The associates here are super friendly. Whenever I come I always find something new and exciting for my home or wardrobe. My husband is always happy with his purchases as well. You cant pay for jewelry at the at the Sales Counter it has to be done at Jewelry Dept, I didnt have a problem with that policy until they told they told me only Jewelry can be paid in the Jewelry Dept and that I had to get back in line and pay for my clothing at the regular sales counter???
