I ooh and ahh at the lovely mirrors, baskets, oil diffusers and bath fizzies. I geek out at licensed sweet treats like Dragonball Z energy drinks and Senzu Bean candies. And yes, I purchased them. I also bought some pricey but premium instant noodles from Taiwan and some Choward's Violet Mints. What a score! Hard to find these special candies. Dana was super helpful when we were visiting, especially navigating digital coupons with my mom. The store looked great even though clearly the locusts had descended earlier in the day for after- Christmas shopping. Things were still very clean and organized. I was in search of Maple cookies for a Fall themed charcuterie board. I called several places with no luck. I called World Market at The Rim and spoke with Rory, the manager. He said they might have them but the cookies were in a pallet on the very bottom. He said he probably wouldn't be able to get to it till tomorrow. As I was shopping, he came back with the bin with of the boxes of cookies! I don't see this kind of service these days. Thanks Rory. And thank you World Market for hiring Rory! I visited this San Antonio The Rim location this morning. I'm a chef who freelances as a recipe developer and food photographer so WM almost weekly looking for props for my contracts. I have also been a member of WM Rewards for 6 years and have never had an in-store experience that compelled me to write about it. Today I was looking for new shelving to hold my food photography props and an employee, Tiffany, went to great lengths to assist me and answer my questions. She was patient, congenial, and very well-informed about their products. Not once did she make me feel like a bother or as if I was disturbing her. As someone who buys a lot of items for my work from stores like WM, I can tell you that that is not the level of service I'm accustomed to. Because of how personable and professional Tiffany was, I have decided that the Rim location will be the only one I shop at from here on out. I love world market. It is always fun to walk around to see what they have in store from furnitures, decors to food and wine from all over the world. Some of the items are expensive but some are reasonably priced especially when you get them on sale. For some reason, I like this one at the rim better than the one on 410. I signed up to become a member so I get great deals from time to time. I've gotten some paper lantern and swag light kit for 25% off, Italian soda buy one get one free, etc. I love love their hazelnut rolled wafers from Greece and orange passion mango soda from Italy. They even carry the famous white rabbit candy from China that every Chinese native knows about, awesome! Next trip, I will spend more time to look at their wine selections. World market is not only a pretty store but also a place that opens up your eyes. I've been going for years. I am a citizen of the world, I shop at world market! read more

Officially one of my favorite stores now! I found so many candles that smelled amazing! Very cute furniture pieces for a reasonable price. Picked up some tasty Sangria from Spain and some Roscoto from Italy. Also got a few water bottles from France lol Very clean, organized store full of wonders from all over the world. I was looking for a specific dining table and instead of just telling me they didn't have one in stock, she looked in the system and called nearby stores until she found it. I am an interior designer & often make purchases at World Market in the Rim --- San Antonio. I purchased the Holbrook double buffet. It was packed in an over sized box, and my car was already packed with other items. Nancy and Julie were kind enough to rearrange everything to make the oversized box fit in my SUV. They were patient, efficient, and very kind. Without them I wouldn't have been able to take this item and would have had to make another trip. A ton of trouble is what I could get into here...but my kitchen would be stocked, my wine bar impressive and my home stylish. Alright, so not everything is authentic but man it sure is pretty. I have picked up a few things here and there - key hooks, wine, sauces, nice chocolate. We have an item of furniture on hold now...it has not arrived yet but we are guaranteed the current sale price and have a more than fair estimate to have it put together before pick up. Sounds great to me! From greeting cards to wall art, serving dishes and more - this is the perfect place to shop after one of those famous but not yet tried wine tastings. read more

This store is great for random little finds, especially imported food. But over the last few years the prices have skyrocketed. I went to buy a duplicate shelf I bought 3 years ago and it's not only out of stock but $50 more. I tried get a different one but they were $300+! Crazy! I always go intending to buy things for my new house but leave with only snack items. And really, most of the foods can be found at HEB these days. There is a nice selection of wines and kitchenware but it's not like it used to be. read more

Great place to stock up on wine. Come on Saturdays/Sundays for wine tastings- it's hard to leave without a few bottles. They also have cute gifts and seasonal items, and unique cards. I definitely recommend it to get a gift or something special to spruce up your home. Join the club they offer (World Market Explorer) and they will send you coupons frequently, as well as lower prices on wine. I left out the last star because sometimes the quality can be lacking on their furniture or gift items, and there are several food items that you can get for less at HEB- just watch out for those. read more

The customer service I received from this World Market and corporate customer service was exceptional. I had bought a lamp for my daughter's room. However, after we plugged it in, it would flicker off and would have to jiggle the socket for it to turn back on. After a few weeks, it stopped working completely. Customer service emailed me saying that I could return it after having for almost 2 months and no receipt. I would also like to add how friendly and engaging the workers were the morning (1/8/2016) I was there. Thank you for making shopping enjoyable. read more

The customer service here is ALWAYS consistently poor and possibly even horrible. Especially with this very short female with blonde hair that always gives attitude when she's 'doing her job'. Initially she'll greet you with her shrieking voice but ask her for any sort of assistance and she'll turn on you: the rolling of the eyes, the snapping of the tongue, the whole 9 yards of immaturity and how the customers are inconveniencing her "at work". It's difficult finding certain items since everything is just piled into sections so, of course customers are going to need help navigating to what they are looking for. The elitist type attitude needs to get tossed out because I'm definitely not going back and neither will other patrons. read more

His was a standard world market that could be in any city. You are welcomed by over stuffed shelves that hold all sorts of stuff that you never knew you needed. I bumped up the review a star from average because they were sampling food and wine and you could tell they took pride in it and wanted people to have a good time. read more

Today I went to World Market to buy a chair that I'd seen and liked. I anticipated that we'd only need ten minutes to buy it walk out with it, but the whole procesa took about 40 min. First, they only had the display piece, which was a little scuffed up, and only offered a 10% discount for it. Then, once I'd bought it (a process that took longer than expected due to the impossibility of finding someone to help and the general cluelessness of the girl who eventually showed up), the manager was supposed to send someone to help disassemble it. I waited for ages while my mom got the car and waited out front (waiting by a red curb!). Finally, I chased the manager down and reminded her that i was still waiting. She kept telling me that she'd misunderstood what her associate told her and that's why I was waiting. I don't care, lady, I just want to be done. And instead of getting someone to help me disassemble the chair and wrap it for transport, she hands me an allen wrench and says, "you can take the legs off yourself. And you can keep the allen wrench." Whoop-de-doo. So I got to sit in the middle of the store during the weekend rush and take apart this chair myself. And no, no one offered me any way to wrap the chair, even though it was a rainy day and it was likely to get damaged. For an almost $200 piece of furniture, I expect more. I was thinking of getting a $400 TV stand from here, but I guess I'll go to Pier One instead. And I'm definitely not going to buy any more accessories for my mostly empty apartment from here either. read more

Absolutely amazing store! The prices are very reasonable (especially with regards to the food), and the selection is fantastic. They have wine, sweets, tea and coffee, animal food, furniture, body products, housewares, and just about everything with plenty of ethnic feel. Although this store has a lot to offer but it still cannot make it to 5 stars. They have a lot of imported stuff from India and Pakistan. Since most of the things are imported you should definitely expect a higher price. The woven chair which cost 90$ here would only cost 5$ if you buy from India so it is definitely a huge markup but you are getting handicraft stuff so cant complain. Here is the part where they lose 2 stars. The checkout line is extremely slow.. but that is the same across any store in San Antonio. I still cannot understand why things are so slow here compared to north east or the west coast. Even if they have 3 -4 employees standing there staring at you they will never bother opening the 2nd register and let you get out faster. Another issue that I found is that prices are not clearly marked, some items have tags with barcodes but no prices. I looked around for a price check but could not find one so had to check online or you have to grab someone for help. Other than that decent products and a lot to chose from. read more

I called the store ahead of time to hold an item and the girl ensured me that I would be able to come and pick it up in the evening. Surely enough, it's not there and no one knows what happened to it. One sales associate, in particular, was very rude and impatient with the entire situation by rolling her eyes every second, excessively sighing and grunting when it was herself that secured the item earlier. Her solution to me was to purchase the one on display which was already used and worn out so, of course, I didn't want that. It was frustrating for me since she said they had one for me (she also mentioned they had many in stock) and would hold it and once I got to the store (the same day) these large amount of items that were supposedly there were not anymore. I don't know if it was her fault of World Markets scheme to get rid of display items but, it's a terrible tactic and extremely annoying. Luckily, there was one sales associate that seemed to know what she was doing and was very helpful. She called another location and double checked before I went all the way over there and secured one for me with a 10% discount after signing up with their rewards program. (Finally, someone that it actually doing their job!) We went to the World Market on 281 and Stone Oak and were immediately greeted and the customer service here was miles upon miles better. I highly suggest people go to the one off of Stone Oak and 281 for their World Market shopping. The La Cantera/Rim location has always been stand-offish and rude. The sad part is, I've tried to purchase large items from this location in the past and it's always been this way. They say they have it when they don't, try to sell you the display; if you don't, they leave you to figure it out on your own. read more

There are many places to get good wine in SA, but none beat the prices here, and if you buy 4 bottles or more, take 10% off. It is always worth my trip to buy my wine here. read more

Worse manger #Nancy and her customer blaming. So World Market offers 15% off if you text the # they provide which then sends your code back to you. That's all great except that tonight we texted the code and it sent fine but after we waited forever and no code came back to us. Of course the manager blamed Sprint for the issue, excuse me lady but the service said clearly LTE!! she also blamed that my phone happened to pop up Low Battery 20% so the code can't come back because of that? Ha, that's a funny one because it has nothing to do with a slow text. Then she says it's not World Market fault, so then it's mine right? The customers fault because your text system is slow sending back a code to a phone that's showing LTE? FYI a text came in from a friend while we waited so clearly not the fault on the phone. She has no idea how the digital world works, clearly after saying my low battery message had anything to do with it. Next time lady offer 15% off to a customer and honor it when a store offers and your system is not kicking the code back and you've got 4 people behind me waiting but you choose to blame the customer with your attitude and lack of help, your ridiculous, your stores a disaster, you need a serious wake up call from corporate because there's plenty of other stores I can spend my $$ in. World Market you need real management in this store and make sure the current one understands that her paycheck comes from my shopping $$ so blaming customers with your stores glitches is the easiest way to lose a paycheck. I'm done with World Market sadly I spend a lot of $ there but The Rim has a lot of options I refuse to be handled by a manager like that. My son could not believe the stores manger ridiculous behavior, if he wasn't there and already picked out his items I would have left everything on the counter, I won't shop with a manger like you have at The Rim World Market.. read more
