Went to celebrate my friends birthday, the drinks were served great and all at first but we had some difficulties with getting any service after and it took awhile to be served regardless that we had a reservation. Overall ended up being a good night, I suggest improving staff attendance and the menu to be better accessible. This club is an absolute DISASTER, and management/security is a total joke. I've been here 20+ times, and I've never seen it this bad. While we were there, a guy was harassing my female friend for about 5 minutes with no security anywhere. A random male had to step in just to stop it, and then the two guys started fighting. Security didn't do a single thing -- WE HAD TO TRACK THEM DOWN OURSELVES, and when we finally found one, she was just standing by the bathroom doing NOTHING. The short female security with a white stud was extremely rude, clearly didn't know the policies, and took my vape even though I'm 22, not even letting me take it to my car -- something that's never happened to me before. Meanwhile, right after, I saw a dude hitting his and another group smoking a blunt inside the club. They pick and choose who they enforce rules on -- personally, I've gotten free shots from the bartenders while other people get punished. Speaking of shots, they're overpriced and barely poured the correct amount of liquor. On top of that, there's tons of underage drinking, with underage girls getting into the club with zero issue, and I even heard rumors about human trafficking connected to this place -- completely insane. I used to be a regular and loved this place, but after this level of negligence, favoritism, and outright danger, I will never go back. If I am paying a cover fee and buying drink from your bar, I feel as if free water is the least you could do. If I could give less an star I would we went out with a bunch of my girlfriends for my sisters birthday had the table reserved from the week before had to put down a 50$ deposit was not a problem so that we could secure our spot but it was just inconvenience after inconvenience once we were brought to our table first off the table menu I was show before choosing World isn't the one that the bottle girls use , the one they use is kept on a notepad typed up on their phones with taxes and fees included from what I was shown wasn't able to take a picture of it but was shown it by the woman who was supposed to serve us our bottle , then we were able to adjust and have everybody agree on one liquor we wanted a more expensive liquor again money not being an issue so my sister gives them her debit card has more than enough funds to pay for the liquor. The woman comes back and tells us that the card is declining and she's tried it more than once so we immediately check the bank there's more than enough funds , the woman than suggest that we should Zelle her the money to make it faster since the card isn't going through for whatever reason and taking her advice, we do Zelle her over $700 at the time did it seem like a bad idea it was already going on 12 o'clock and we still had not received any drinks then proceeds to us. She has not yet got the funds from her end, but the money was already taken from my sister's account, so we wait around at least 30 to 45 more minutes even involved a security because he saw how upset my sister and I were and asked what was the problem and what was going on because we had been sitting in a section with no alcohol for more than an hour finally it's almost 1 AM and the woman tells us she would gift us a lower class liquor for the inconvenience but being that we went there to celebrate my sister's birthday that wasn't the plan nor did my sister drink the alcohol. She offered to buy so we finally just decided to leave after sitting there for two hours which she did later she did text my sister her after 3 AM because according to her, she said she finally received the Zelle payment so that it was my sister's birthday, I don't think I'll ever be back. Absolutely abysmal night for the Armin show on 5/24 ... Got bottle service to see our favorite artist and while he or the service we received from our waitress did not disappoint, the management/ownership sure did. I'll paint the picture... VIP/Table line was the same, I should have known as soon as I saw this it was going to be a fantastic night. Nothing like paying over $1,000 to sit there and wait as one guy tries to figure it out. At least he was friendly ‍ AC was out - which happens, call an emergency HVAC company and have it fixed immediately. It was easily over 105 degrees in the room. People were puking everywhere in VIP, Dance floor and the bathrooms. 80 percent of the people stripped as much clothing as they felt comfortable, people passing out, workers with wet towel draped on their necks and heads and people dumping ice buckets from tables on each other. When the artist gets on the microphone and apologizes and says it's "F'ing ridiculous" you know there may be an issue, I dunno ‍ The show was EXTREMELY oversold - The fact that the fire marshal didn't shut this event down baffles me and I would honestly love to know why. People were standing in hallways because they couldn't get to the dancefloor, the outdoor patio was packed and I'm trying to wrap my head around how all of those people were supposed to be inside as well. It's laughable to think that they thought this was ok. They have deleted every single negative comment or review from their Facebook/IG posts. Absolutely childish - way to take any kind of responsibility for screwing up. We had a table right next to a door outside - which was great because we could just walk out and get some nice 87 degree cool fresh air outside until you are told you can't be outside and are forced back in. The bouncer was super cool, his boss was the one enforcing it, I get it. Just super ironic how this guy wants to follow "rules" while pretty much every other one is being broken They ran out of bottled water - which is ok because you can go just about anywhere in the city and pick some more up right? Every gas station and this place called Walmart would more than likely have a case or 50 laying around Buuuuuuuttttt they didn't, guess they couldn't spare one of the 5 bartenders they had for 1,500 ppl to go pick some up lol The bathrooms were some of the most disgusting I've seen in my life with throw up, towels everywhere and condensation running down all if the mirrors due to the excessive heat. And you too could have had all of this for he low low price of $1,500. Thank you World for showing us exactly how to be a greedy money hungry business that has absolutely no regard for your paying customers safety and well being. The fact that you have been open this long is truly baffling. Maybe they can take some of the money and buy some Aquafina. Disco Donnie and Sugar Society have always thrown great shows but this experience has single handily made me lose respect for them as well. As the promoters you have to take some sort of responsibility as well because you are the ones making money of this show along with World. Simply put the more bar sales/vip tables and tickets that come through the door the more money you put in your pocket, but they will turn their backs as they already have our money. Truly a shame. Hopefully your entire staff quits and all of the artists you try to bring our reads a review or two of this disaster and goes literally anywhere else but your establishment. Good luck ‍ read more

Thought it would have been more packed, CG went on late, puke all over the floor, drink prices were great, staff was helpful and polite no complaints. Looking forward to the next one. I was really excited to see Armin Van Buuren at World in Charlotte. Got the VIP tickets. Got there early. Bar staff was great. Security was great too. Didn't know that the A/C went out. It was the hottest day of the year (so far). By 10 pm, we were packed in like sardines. LOTS of people. Not sure how they got around the fire code. The opening DJ's were good and Armin Van Buuren was great (for the 45 minutes we were there during his time slot). It got soooooooo hot. The management kept letting more and more people in the door. Our group was on the upper level. The General Admission pit was just packed with people. NO AIR CONDITIONING. THEY RAN OUT OF BOTTLED WATER. Some girl was on the upper level being iced down by some of the bar backs. She didn't look good at all. Thought she either just puked or was about to puke. We couldn't take the heat anymore. Decided to leave. On the way out of the club, we noticed the fire marshals, firemen and police at the front door. I think they were trying to close down the venue for over crowding. There were so many people in there that if there were an emergency and people had to get out of the building fast, there would have been a ton of injuries. It would be like one of those clubs that you read about in Europe where a ton of people died because they were trampled. Still LOVE Armin and the 2 opening DJ's along with the wait staff and security. The problem here is management overselling tickets and jamming everyone in the club. Too bad. They oversold the event and it caused people who bought VIP tickets to have a hassle of getting in. There is no order, organization, or respect for the attendees what so ever. We notice that people who had regular tickets that were bought in advance was also force to pay additional money just to get in. And for the cherry on top there wasn't any AC in the building. Horribly managed venue. How do you screw up Armin van Buuren? Seriously? One of the world's most popular DJs, and all his fans, deserve far more respect that what was on display on May 24th, 2019 by the Ownership and/or Management. I felt bad for all the staff. There needed to be about double the staff that was working that night, but the ones who were there did the best they could with the horrible working conditions. Every one of the dozen or so staff I talked with were angry at how it all went down. Let's start with the entrance lines. Why was there only one guy tasked with letting in both VIP guests and Table guests? That poor kid was forced to make the VIP guests wait in queue while he had the obligation of letting in all the Table guests. Two bouncers up front, one for each line, would have easily solved that amateur issue. There were a lot of angry people who paid $90/ticket to wait in a 40-minute long VIP queue. I actually sympathize with those Table guests, considering how much they probably paid and what they actually received in the club. A hot mess... That brings us to the AC issue. I've been to a lot of shows, and I've never been to one where the owner decides to have a show that big when the AC system is completely non-functioning. Maybe the Owner couldn't cancel due to contract, but I'm leaning toward just plain old fashioned greed. Armin literally had to apologize to the crowd about how hot it was. I bet Armin never comes back to World. I was glad to see that someone eventually called the Fire Marshal and they arrived on site with truck crews. It seemed like it was turning into a potentially unsafe environment for everyone in that club. The club itself is laid out really well, it would have been a sick show if it had been managed correctly. The piles of trash and puke in the VIP bathrooms and 10-minute VIP bar waits just didn't go over well with me at that price point. Hopefully the poor management is corrected before the next top-level talent plays there. Thanks again to all the staff who survived that mess last night, and thanks to Armin for playing through. The security (at least inside) are idiots. I was looking for an iPhone (had the location, etc., knew it was near the bar by find-my-location app and last left location). Was escorted out by a guy with short dreads who earlier in the night told me to move away from the bathroom (not even right in front of it) while I was waiting outside on someone. I moved and continued waiting at the time and upon leaving that area and moving back to the dance floor he stared at my girlfriends ass for a solid 10 seconds, until he caught me looking at him and went back to bathroom security. He seemed just overall angry or power struck, or maybe just embarrassed, and escorted us out soon after when all that was said to him later on was "I'm looking for an iPhone that was left at the bar" when he came up to us while we were looking at my own phone by the exit. We were out of everyone's way and nearly outside already to give whoever had found it time to call my phone while the app searched for the missing phone after calling it and to gain the ability to hear. The outdoor attendant was yelled at with the words "yo yo yo" from the bathroom security guy who pushed us outside. We retrieved the iPhone from a bartender who called my own iPhone and came outside. I will be back to the location and not sober this time. The atmosphere is pretty cool, but they should really look into the people they hire for security as he clearly had a hard on for telling people what to do. For $20 general admission (crazy) you should be able to find quality and profession individuals. read more

The manager is a bxtch and they are insane to want to charge $1600 for a wacka*s vip when there's only 10 people in the entire club. They should pay the people for even attending their club because it really just sucks. The event this past weekend for Dj Adoni really sucked. The dude that was supposed to perform was at Bocao Sushi chillin at the bar while people thought he was playing at world. He did his thing for only 25 minutes and dipped out because he knew this place was dead. Also they held a contest for a ''free bottle'' and when the girl was waiting on her bottle everyone told her they didn't know anything about no bottle and even the manager acted like she didn't know what was being offered and she was there the entire night. I've been going here for years. Even when it was Label. Bought countless tables, and even worked here as a DJ. Never had any issues with this place until Gorgon City show on 10/8. Our group bought a table (4 bottles) had a great time. When it was time to leave we went down from the second floor to the first and wanted to go thru the VIP area to exit (since we had bracelets). The security let us thru the first area. But when it came to the area under the screens the security was very disrespectful. Started yelling at my girlfriend and I about having to go thru the dance floor (which was insanely packed). I told him that made no sense because the exit is right there, I could even see it. He then proceeded to tell me he didn't care and shoved me down the steps (from the back) on to the dance floor. I was already walking away. Then got even more mad that I didn't fall and kept on my feet so he followed us. Shoving me with his two other buddies and screaming threats at us all the way to the exit. Pushing me multiple times. I can safely say that I will never return for any more shows and make sure that my friends don't either. Take your money somewhere else. Plenty of clubs in Charlotte that don't hire goons as security. read more
