I brought wifey's iPhone 4 here cause it was beaten and bruised until the display stopped displaying. I knew the phone worked, it would ring if called and it could make bluetooth voice calls, made sounds when email or texts came. You just could see anything. A friend told me "go to Hilltop Mall, enter the ___ door and walk on the left side past ___ to a cell phone store." So I did....and went to the wrong cell phone store. They pointed me to World Phones and off I went. When I got there, a quiet but pleasant older woman came to hear my story. A little ways behind her sat a much younger gentleman, hard at work at whatever device needed help. He glanced up, looked disinterested, and right back down. OK, no problem. I don't need cartwheels and a marching band. She came back with an estimate that I accepted and a completion time of THE SAME DAY. Great!!! I came back a few hours later and the lady retrieved my phone and it was back to display life again. And fresh and clean. While she finalized the payment, the tech guy comes over. He chats very briefly with me, asking if the phone had been worked on before? "Yes, by some garbage cell phone place in Albany (who's name I forget, but their Yelp "review" will come)". He said he could tell. Then he went on to point out a couple of small no-charge things he did while he was in there. I thought that was great and thanked him for it. And BAM, nothing else - he was walking away. Mind already on the next job or whatever. World Phone does cell phone repairs and unlocking and stuff like that. They also sell parts and accessories in case you want to get your bling on. A little more of a happy face-forward would serve them even better. But who knows. Maybe they want to channel that energy into doing a good job every time. I've only been to World Phone for this one transaction. They also put a screen protector on (without me asking or them telling me they would) which was a nice little surprise.
