I'm hoping this review saves someone from losing thousands of dollars on a timeshare like I did. If only I could give less than one star. They bring you in offering a free trip when you attend a 2-hour presentation. The vacation club sounded like a money saving idea, so we bought a membership at $6,000, closer to $9,000 if you finance. The problem is its been six months and we've never been able to use it. Every time we call they say there's no availability. There's nothing available in "California" all month. I spoke with someone in member services today, and was told "February is a busy month". Apparently so is September, October, November, December, and January. There is no cancellation or anyway to get your money back. It's 2012...how is this company still getting away with this??? And beware of the ONE positive review showing. VERY suspect even with the little quips about the company. Their postcard says free flight and 2 nights, 3 days in a hotel ANYWHERE in the 48 U.S. States. The rep I spoke to on the phone said I could choose anywhere and the offer was free. AFTER I attended the 90 minute presentation, I was told I would have to "jump through some hoops" to redeem the offer. These 'hoops' are outrageous considering I was not alerted to any of them previously. I must submit $99 within 21 days in the form of a money order or cashier's check. I must submit 3 choices out of a LIST of 30 offered cities. (quite different than anywhere)...and each one has to be be placed 45 days apart, but with 60 days advance notice. Do the math - it makes it pretty easy for them to squeeze out of this trip after collecting your non-refunandable $99. They also say there will be 'processing fees' and as expected we would pay for all tax. But there is other worrisome wording about landing charges, etc...that makes this whole thing very suspect. While I was happy to listen the to very unimpressive presentation, I wouldn't not have taken hours out of my day to drive to Long Beach and back, had I been told the truth about the offer. So it looks like this company is recently spamming mail boxes in sunny southern California as I can see most of these reviews were written within the last month. My parents called me about this "fantastic travel program that's so unbelievable, oh my" and asked me if I wanted to "invest" in it. I said, "Sure, Mom, let me look into it." First thing I noticed was the website was soooo vague with pretty pictures and things that make you go "ohh, I'd like to go there" but there is NO INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR HEADQUARTERS, PRESIDENT, CEO, ETC. There are no FAQs, there is no FB page as advertised on their site, NOTHING WORTH ANY PIECE OF MIND. The less info on a site, probably the less they want you to know with the defense that they want their presentation to sell their product. How about you back your product by having some simple company information while you're asking someone to put out thousands of dollars of their hard earned money? No, an 800 number and an email do not cut it and do not represent a legitimate company. Second, this company just filed for review with the Better Business Bureau on 26May11. Wow, that was less than two weeks ago. Sounds like a company that's been around for a long time (sarcasm) and from the majority of reviews on Yelp, lots of satisfied customers (woo more sarcasm) but not one who actually took the cruise BECAUSE YOU DON'T GET A CRUISE, but they do get paid $250 dollars for 90 minutes of your time. They only accept a money order as payment for the "cruise taxes." Really? They accept basically a form of cash but no credit card or checks? That really is odd. Third, there are sooo many "World Travel" sites when you do a cursory search about this company making it hard to actually find information linked to it. Coincidence? Probably not. Bottom line, sure it COULD be a legitimate company but their main function is to be the third party for you and book vacations on your behalf. You have paid for your MINUTE discount with the THOUSANDS that you have put into it. Do yourself a favor and don't bother. Do yourself a bigger favor and research just exactly where you are putting your hard earned money. If a company stands behind their product, there is no need to be so evasive. Let me remind everyone that part of this company's marketing strategy is to lure you in for something free. This company has to expect that more people are going to want the free thing than the actual product they are selling but they bank on selling enough of these overly priced packages to compensate for the "free" stuff they give away. I would urge you to think twice before considering using their service. I received a post card from them offering a complementary cruise for 2 when attending their 90 minutes sales presentation. This sales presentation requires that you bring a second adult (your spouse or partner) but children are not allowed because of the limited spaces. In order to do this, my wife and I planned to take a day off from work, so we can both attend during a week day when the kids are in school. We made the reservation for the sales presentation on 2/20/2012 and received a confirmation letter with the Reservation Code IMS100LON, Date 2/24/2012 Friday, and time of 11am. On Friday, we drove 100 miles around trip to World Travel on 1501 Hughes Way Suite 100, Long Beach, CA 90810 1-800-843-2104. The young lady sitting at the receptionist desk (unfortunately didn't get her name because I was so pissed) told us that there is no sales presentation for that week. And with a real bitchy attitude, she said that there is nothing she can do for us. After I told her this is definitely going on the internet, an older lady in the office over heard and rushed out to us. She said that their reservation center was notified for the cancellation of sales presentation 2 weeks ago and apologize that I was still being scheduled to come and no one had contacted me for the cancellation. But still, after PTO days taken and 100 miles driven, there was no offer for any compensation, not even an offering a rescheduling on site (not that I would take it). I was sent home empty handed. RCI RCI RCI RCI Telemarketing call...free vacations...free cruises....free airfare...all for the low price of $700 (yes, not free at all)..... representatives are unprofessional and RUDE RUDE RUDE This was my experience with two RCI reps earlier this afternoon. The first representative stated he was calling from RCI. He was not polite, but not overly rude like the second representative. I informed him at the beginning of the call I was driving and would like to know the purpose of the call. After a few minutes attempting to remain polite, I again requested for him to summarize his speech, skipping details, so I knew what he was trying to sell. He said I had qualified for several free vacations including a cruise and it would all cost me only $700. (I'm still perplexed how free = $700) I then informed him I was going to decline his offer. He stated he wanted to present something better, then without advising me I was being transferred, the phone went silent and I was connected to Kevin. Kevin said he was a supervisor who was listening to part of the call and after he gave me his spiel, I also told him I was not interested in purchasing any vacations from their company. He told me I did not make any sense, was not smart, and was also stupid. Yes, he actually said, 'you are stupid'. I laughed, because by this time, I was amused as I listened to Kevin get more frustrated and upset with every word. I was unable to interject or add anything to the conversation that was now a monologue. So, after a tirade of rhetorical questions and more insults Kevin disconnected the line. I would like to encourage this company, RCI, to train their representatives, especially their management, to have better control of their emotions when speaking to the public no matter if they choose to be a client or not. I would especially like to encourage everyone reading this to stay far, FAR away from this company. Do not patronize their business, since from reading other reviews and my experience today, they clearly have not put any effort into teaching their employees basic customer service skills, you will receive insults if you don't become a customer, their main goals appear to be getting people to purchase timeshares at 3-4x the price quote if you finance, and they lure people in with free vacations... for a price! It seems that since this company is new to Long Beach, they had previously resorted to astro-turfing Yelp. Sadly, this is a bad way to impress possible clients. Long story short, my wife and I are real people who ended up joining the program, so far we like it. Long story long, we do a lot of traveling relative to our friends and family. As a result, we've sat in on many timeshare schpiels (at the time, mainly to get the free schwag). Typically, the price to buy in never really makes any sense, and we end up walking out wondering how anyone signs up. We'd intended the same thing would happen when we sat in on the Travel Services presentation, but the opportunity for a free cruise was enticing, so we found a baby sitter, and came in. Travel-services (TS) is effectively a travel agency which removes any agency fees (Expedia for example, charges a surcharge on top of their rates, so their employees can get paid). TS on the other hand makes their money up-front with the payment that they charge (more on that below), and subsequent to that, they get you the prices wholesale to you. Mind you, this isn't a large savings - maybe 5-10% from what I've seen so far on hotels. Car rentals are substantially cheaper through TS from what I've found so far. The real benefit of TS is that they're an RCI reseller (if you're not familiar with RCI, checkout www.rci.com). It would seem that anything that RCI offers, is available to TS members. Price-wise, at the end of the presentation, they offered 4 weeks per year for $7999, in addition to greatly reduced costs on last-minute reservations at RCI locations. Additionally you get their services as a travel agency, which, given that we travel a lot, we actually spend a lot of time acting as. As of this writing, the 4 weeks per year ranged in price from a 1-bedroom at $400, to a 3-bedroom at $900 each for a week at a time. This is pretty damned cheap for lodging anywhere in the world for a week at a time. There's a yearly $299 maintenance fee which will never change. We ended up talking down the company on price to effectively $7000 and they threw in some airfare vouchers, Your mileage may vary. To give you some real world comparisons, we stayed just recently in Las Vegas for our anniversary. I'd initially wanted to stay at a hotel with a kitchen (the name escapes me right now). Total for the weekend would have been close to $500 with all of the fees. TS offered the same hotel for $200 with all taxes and fees. They also offered the Wyndham Grand Resort with a 2 bed/ 2 bath + full kitchen for $250 for the weekend. Comparably on Expedia, it would have been +$600. We stayed at the hotel, and loved it. We priced out a 12-person van to get our whole group over there (which we didn't end up renting), and the savings would have been close to $300 off what I was looking at through Expedia. Having someone who does the footwork for you as far as finding the best prices, and sending you different options is great. If your time costs money (and it usually does, since you probably surf Expedia at work), this is one of those things that you should take into consideration when looking at TS. Hopefully I'm not going to get black-balled by TS for laying out their costs, but in the end, I'm a very happy customer of theirs. We did end up sending away for the free cruise which they offered as a perk of sitting in on the presentation - I'll update the review when we find out more about the specifics. UPDATE: 2-18-2014 We're not using the service enough at this point due to my wife's being unemployed for the last two years. She's now got a new job, and we're planning on ramping up usage, but in the end - you're very likely not going to burn through 4 whole weeks of vacation time each year. On the other hand we almost ALWAYS use them to book random travel or at the very least match/beat costs that we find online. In the end, we have yet to make up the cost of investment - there's no free lunch. It's basically like this: Do you have the time/energy to book travel on your own? In our case, amortizing over the amount of time that we're going to use this service, I'd say that it's a break-even, with a slight lean towards buying. If I were to reassess when my wife was unemployed, I'd have suggested otherwise. Sorry to be vague, but you're going to have to do your homework on how much you vacation. In the end, this isn't making your trips free, it's discounting them - keep that in mind. read more

We got a postcard promising 2 round trip airfares within continental US and 3 day 2 night hotel stay. When we called, we were turned down because I told them my wife speaks "o.k." English. When I called back, they pointed to the fine print saying certain restrictions apply and told me the reason was because my wife does not speak English. How does anyone confuse speaking "o.k" English with speak "no" English??? After reading the previous review, it's obvious this is their sales pitch aiming at getting people hooked onto their service. For people who are reading these postings: First : You have to ask yourself ...people who said they are "happy" did they do a price comparison check? You should do a price comparison check to see what was presented in the Presentation is accurate for yourself. Secondly, some people have claimed to already have received a cruise date...how is that possible when they just joined? If you check other complaints sites people have not heard after 4 weeks. And in regards to the cruise...the port fees are fine...but some people from other sites have gotten an increase on these fees. What people areasking on this site is they what to know if anyone actually got a confirmation back from this so call cruise. I can tell you as of today, I still have not heard anything back. This travel agency does not do its work or follow-up with its members. Wed, 5/9 My wife called World Travel and requested options for hotel and car rental reservation but got confusion and no recommendations. Fri, 5/11 I called to make the hotel reservation and talked with Giselle. She called back, said she couldn't process credit card. I called the credit card company who said they blocked it because it was from Great Britain. I asked them to let it go through, to which they agreed. I called Giselle and asked her to process reservation. She called later and said it wouldn't go through again. I called credit card company who said they had had not received any requests. They suggested it might be World Travel's system. I called Giselle and mentioned this and she said she would look into it. As of 1100pm I had no call from Giselle. Sat, 5/13 800am - I had no email confirmation on hotel reservation. 830am - I called World Travel and got an answer machine 835am - I called Giselle's cell phone and left a message that if I had not received a reservation from her by 900am, I would process the reservation myself. 903am - There was no call from Giselle, I processed my own reservation. Fri, 5/25 As requested by World Travel, I formally requested my membership be cancelled and the membership fee refunded. My recommendation, stay away from these guys. They now push a promotion which they claim gives you a free trip for 2 anywhere in the continental US, including airfare and hotel, but then when you call them up and press them, they admit that they will charge you $99 per ticket, so you're not really getting much from them, since dealing with them to cash in your "freebie" is not a smooth process at all, and your trip is subject to their "availability" (which usually means that all of the really cheap tickets and crummy hotel rooms are already booked for the dates you can't have!). So when you get their "free offer" in the mail, fold it into an airplane and throw it out the window, because that's the only "free" flight you're gonna get! In summary, they are not honest, and btw they are rated F by the BBB! So deal with them at your own risk. read more

My husand and I went for the presentation on July 1st 2012 and we ended up signing up in becoming members. We gave up on our Time Share to become WTS members On Saturday, July 28th, I called the WTS travel office in Long Beach to inquire about condo properties in Maui for my family, etc. Someone took my name and number and was told that someone from the travel office will call me back. On Tuesday, July 31st I once again called the WTS office in Long Beach because nobody called me back as promised. Once again someone took my call back info and was told that they will have forward my message and someone will call me back. On Friday, August 3rd, my third call to WTS office and still no one has called me back. I was told that my message was going to be given to the Supervisor (Amanda) and they'll call me back. I told the Receptionist/Rep that I still have not received a call and was promised many times. On Saturday, August 4th, I once again called the WTS office and once again was told that the Travel office was closed today. But I told her that when we signed up, the new member booklet indicates that the WTS travel is open 7 days a week!!! I wish they would extend me the courtesy of telling me that theycannot help me with my travel request. I figured that because we are now members and they could not care less if I waste my time calling them. This is extremely ridiculous. What happened to their Sales Presentation when everything sounded so good and that signing up as members made practical sense? World Travel Services is a scam!!!!!!! Too bad you can't"t give a negative 5 for the rating! We sat in and listened to the presentation where they promise saving of up to 70% on vacation destinations around the world, 50% off on resorts, big discounts on travel services, and up to 40% off on hotels and time shares. After listening to the sales pitch , where we were told we could cancel with in thirty days if we were not satisfied, we decided to purchase the vacation membership. Well it took over 20 days before we receive our membership card, and we were told that we had to wait 15 days before we could book any travel services. and in the fine print of the contract it states that you have to cancel within 3 days if you want to cancel the contract. So how can you cancel when you have to wait 15 day before your membership is activated and the take over 20 days to send the card. When we did try to book travel plans we were given overly high prices where we were able to find lower prices by checking the Internet travel sites like Kayak, price line, Hot-wire etc... And after we questioned the high prices we were given the run around, and our emails and call went unanswered. Also the free cruises and gifts they promised were not so free, we had to pay $198.00 for one cruise and airfare gift, and $98.00 for the other. So we are now faced with suing world travel services. We would not sign away the extra charges. The free cruise appears to be a complete fraud. My husband and I were lured by the promise of free hotel and plane tickets and attended a sales presentation vowing to not purchase anything. The sales people kept lowering the price and throwing in extras, until we felt like we were getting a great deal - so we signed on. Based on their claims, it seemed like it would really help us to lower our overall vacation costs. After getting home, I started feeling remorseful and contacted World Travel, insisting that we get our log in and passwords to search their website immediately, instead of waiting the typical 2-3 weeks. We received the logon info the next day and I started cruising their website to actually see the real costs of specific resorts and cruises, etc. Most of the "deals" were no better than what you would find via internet search and the availability of local resorts during peak times were extremely limited. Since we are on a tight budget, we like to take short 2-3 night trips locally. We also have school-age children and cannot travel during the off-peak times. There was almost nothing that we could use within our criteria. The posted prices were higher than what I expected -- A far cry from the claims of the salespeople. I immediately contacted World Travel to cancel our contract - which you can do within five days. After several calls we finally set up an appointment to cancel our contract. There were some complications with that as well, but finally, we are free and clear from this contract. We are so relieved that we were spared this wasteful impulse purchase. At this point, my trust level with this company is not very high and I'm hesitant even to use the "freebies" we received - which, if you read the fine print - comes with conditions and undisclosed costs. i reluctantly signed up for the trial 2 year membership.. Mistake so far. I have been calling these on site travel agencies and have got responses like "the travel agent called in sick today, the travel agent is busy and will call you back" never called me back. Others like "I apologize for the poor response time and will assist you now, will send u an email of rates. " So when i try to call and book, they either dont answer, are too bussy to call me back or are out sick. What a mistake. I did not send the free cruise voucher after speaking to a representatvie of the World Travel company who told me it would be better to book using the company rather that the alleged free cruise. I also got a cruise quote from the company and compared it to the Carnival cruise line website and would receive a measley 60 dollar discount. This is a real scam and I've done all I can to give them a chance to prove me wrong. I've asked for quotes on packages but when they got the info, they refused to give it to me until my "right to cancel" expired. I became very suspicious. I've tried to contact their travel people, and I never get anyone on the line, and when i get transferred or a call back much later, they promise to get me the info but never came through. I have spent more of my time on hold with them than I could have imagined. It started off as a strong sales pitch, and they bust their butt to get you to sign, all smiles and promises. After you sign, they ignore you until you can no longer cancel and then you get the regular shabby treatment. But if you try to cancel, then they try to stop you and act all "lovey-dovey" again. They are new to Long Beach, and it looked like they set up only to be able to strip down again after they make their money. They lack enough support and agents to do a decent job. It has been almost a week, and I've received no info back on the 3 trips I've asked for. I had to FedEx my package back to them and cancel to get my $5K back. The reviews you see I believe are folks that are associated with the company, as other messages that were bad were deleted from this site! This business doesn't deserve any stars....I had no choice. In July 2011, I received a postcard from WorldTravel in the mail about a free 7-day cruise. Not interested knowing this was scam, I called just curious to hear what they had to say. I was up front and asked what the catch was, and they said there was no catch but to simply refer them to friends and family. In doing this, I was told I had 1 year to go on any cruise ($99.00 deposit required, taxes and port fees had to be paid). I told him I was not interested. The young man seemed irritated, but politely hung up. Two days later I receive a call from the same person very abruptly asking when was I going to come in and get my package! I was not pleased and told him once again I was NOT interested and to not call again! Two days later I recieved a couple more calls from a woman telling me to pick up the cruise package. I was very direct and told them to stop harrassing me and to take my name off their mailing list. We'll see what happens....If they call again, I will be reporting this business to BBB. So let's review, YOU called ME promising 2 airline vouchers anywhere in then US if we listened to your travel agency pitch for 90 minutes....then you asked me to spend $9,999 AND $299 annual dues PLUS a $249 "processing fee" so I may have the privilidge of joining your travel club?? And I get to decide in 15 minutes without ANY research or corroberation that what you are telling us is factual and true??? Who buys ANYTHING that way??? This place is extremely phony. When we walked in, we were welcomed like we were the president of the United States. Everyone was super friendly. The minute we said no, everyone's face changed. Literally. Nobody said good bye, nobody said thank you, nobody cared. I said that I may be interested in the future, but nobody wanted to give me the locations phone numbers so that I can call back and look into the deal. I received a post card in the mail about being selected to receive a complimentary 8 day/7 night cruise for 2. I called the 888-639-6990 # on the card and got the most rude call center person by the name of Yvette ID#102. She could not understand or answer one of my questions. When I couldn't get a straight answer out of her, I asked to speak with her supervisor. She said that she was not in and hung up on me. I called back and finally got the supervisor on the phone. Her name was Ginger. Tried to explain to her that Yvette was rude and forgot to put me on hold properly and all of the rude things and searing she was telling her call center associate about me. Ginger was just as ignorant. Just amazing. I finally could not get a straight answer about World Travel or anything about the promotion from Ginger and finally hung up on her. Due to the fact the I have given Yvette my phone # I received a voice mail (which I saved) from Ginger, who said that they were canceling my reservations and I can't get the cruise gift from World Travel. LOL. Her direct phone # came up on my cell phone and I therefore looked up the area code to find out the call center was in Florida. I than went on-line and researched World Travel in Long Beach to find out the most of the people that sit through the 90 minute presentation never get the cruise and the with all of the extra charges, fees and taxes you are better off booking a 7 day cruise yourself for the same amount of money - $400. In addition, I finally found the phone # for World Travel in Long Beach on 1501 Hughes Way, Suite 100, Long Beach, CA I called to let them know that the call center they use are the most inept and ignorant group of people one could speak with. I spoke with Lisa the receptionist who informed me that they are a travel agency, however, no one comes to work until 3pm in the afternoon, which is a red flag that it is a total time share type of deal . From the reviews, it is scary to think that World Travel can promote free cruises and not follow through on getting people that visit them the cruise. If World Travel works with an organization / call center such as the one you have to call to set up an appt. that is also very scary. read more

So my husband and I went to this great presentation for a free 7 day cruise. It was impressive with no pressure. We bought it. The next day, I started doing some research. Hmm. I was trying to find some reviews and the only place was on their website. When I tried to see vacation results on facebook, they don't have a facebook. The company is going through renovations and it's not up. Why do they advertise it on their website? So I tried looking up "Ultimate Executive Travel" on the web.They are the company you register your cruise with and send $149.00 in a cashier's check to. It may be legit and maybe you do save $, but let's face it for $6000 this company should be prepared for you and me to look into it. I attended a presentation last week and noted that most of the staff was new for a company that had been in business for 14 or was it 15 years. As a result, they provided contradicting information. I asked them to quote me a specific cruise. Their rates provided a $500 per person savings so I signed up. The following morning I decided to do some research on the company and was surprised that not much information was out there. I did find one complaint again World Travel and two against Ultimate Executive Travel with the Better Business Bureau all within the last 6 months. I decided to test them again and called World Travel to request some quotes. I was first told the person didn't come in until 3pm. When I pressed her she said she misunderstood and took my information but neglected to ask me how many passengers. Two hours later she called me back and asked for the number of passengers and said she'd email me something that same afternoon. Needless to say, I'm still waiting for that email. Just joking, I canceled the membership the following afternoon. I figured they pitched their exceptional customer service and I didn't experience that. Just waiting to make sure they credit for credit card. It's too bad cuz it sounded like a wonder program. read more

Avoid these folks like the plague. On September 2, 2011, we attended a World Travel Services seminar in Long Beach where they pitched access to their travel agency for down payment several thousand dollars plus a monthly fee in the hundreds. We chose not to participate, but did send in the required Cashiers Check for $248.00 in order to get the free cruise they promised. The fact that they only take cashiers checks and not credit cards should have been a sufficient warning, but it was not. Of course they cashed the check, but would no take our calls or respond to emails or regular mail. When the BBB got involved, they explained that that Ultimate Executive Travel, another name they use, "does not offer a "FREE cruise"... UET does offer a "Complimentary Cruise". To them, "free" and "complimentary" have different meanings. They added "UET does not accept calls from non-participants due to the fact that it takes up too much time explaining the Terms and Conditions to each and every caller." Even though we had sent them $248, they did not consider us to be a participant. In my opinion, it is only a matter of time before these folks end up in jail and when that happens your money will never be recovered. read more

These people are scammers. I received a postcard in July 2012 enticing me to "FLY AWAY ANYWHERE A US AIRLINE FLIES." I called the number and was told the only requirement was that I attend a promotional event in Long Beach. Over the phone I was assured that once I did so, a 2-night trip for two would be mine, free of charge. I attended the sales pitch only to be informed that I would have to pay a $49 per person processing fee just to register for my "free" trip. Moreover, there were so many restrictions I figured I would never be able to make use of it so I cut my losses and walked away. The only corporate identification on the initial postcard was for Expedia which lent reputability. I have since contacted Expedia with my complaint and they responded that they have no affiliation with World Travel Services. Hard to check up on this scam at the outset with the perpetrators masquerading as Expedia. I wish Expedia would go after them. read more

In July 2011 my wife and I purchased a membership with World Travel. We were promised "hot deals and deeply discounted rates" on hotels, cruises, etc. Over the past 2 years we have tried to use them for our vacations, however attempts to use their services were extremely frustrating. World Travel agents were very rude and often never returned phone calls. I expressed my frustration with their customer service but didn't receive any satisfaction. The travel deals and discounted rates never happened. We compared our last trip with another travel agency and their rates were lower than what World Travel was offering. We have tried to contact World Travel to cancel our membership and redeem our $5,000 which we paid for this apparent scam, but they have not returned our phone calls. At this point, I believe this company is fraudulent and some investigation of their business practices needs to be done. I recently learned that their Long Beach office has been closed and is no longer doing business as World Travel which only supports my concern that this company is a fraud. read more
