The developers were very courageous and their achievement in completing such a mammoth and impressive project is well justified and even was the subject of a major television documentary. Niceeeeeeeeeee!

Worldwide Plaza was finished being built in 1989. Before that there were no high rise apartment buildings along 8th avenue. I spent a lot of time here in the late 80's and early 90's. I had friends there and co workers and we would have meetings there and I even spent the night a few times. Worldwide Plaza is a commercial and residential grouping of three buildings located in Manhattan. All together, the complex takes up an entire city block in the Hell's Kitchen part of Manhattan and it quickly become a distinctive part of New York City. Of the three buildings, One Worldwide Plaza is a commercial office Tower, Two Worldwide Plaza is a condominium residential tower, and Three Worldwide Plaza is a low-rise condominium tower with street-level stores. The developers were very courageous and their achievement in completing such a mammoth and impressive project is well justified and even was the subject of a major television documentary. A 35,000-sq. ft. health club with an Olympic-size swimming pool is beneath the residential tower. As a condition of the project's special zoning permit, the developers agreed to rehabilitate more than 100 apartments for occupancy at below-market rents in 10 neighboring buildings that were turned over to the Clinton Association for a Renewed Environment for operation and management. The low-rise portion is not merely tacked on to the project, but has its own copper pyramid cap in the middle of its Ninth Avenue frontage that dignifies the avenue and unifies it with the similar roof caps of the condo and office towers. It has had it's ups and downs. It demonstrated that sensitive planning could overcome timeworn clichés about the sanctity of the midblock and the difficulties of making smooth transitions between neighborhoods. There is usually talk of the building being sold. http://streeteasy.com/nyc/talk/discussion/10569-any-worldwide-plaza-experts-out-there On 7 July 2009, Deutsche Bank AG has agreed to sell Worldwide Plaza for just $600 million after a previous sale of $1.74bn in February 2007, a 66% drop in value in just 2 years. Never the less it changed the face of the neighborhood for good forever. It is the 87th highest building in the world! http://wirednewyork.com/skyscrapers/worldwide_plaza/

Love to chill out in the plaza. Lots of seating. Right next to new stages theaters. You can have Mexican at block heads or a burger at mother mergers. One of the quieter area toucan wait for a show or bring a snack. Just down the block fro Book of Mormon or Chicago

This is only 2 blocks from my office so I'm here quite often during lunch, taking in the fresh air and people watching.

Under that tent is live music. Sounds really good. Like jazzy, rock blues.

No dogs allowed. It gets pretty busy during lunch and dinner so be aware. Also there is 24 hour security here.

I have lived here for less than a year and initially my experience was good. However, since winter…read morehas begun my apt has become miserable and the customer service is horrible. Since the heat turned on the loudest banging imaginable wakes me up 3-4 times a night. Coming from someone that works 10-12 hr days this is not ok. Not to mention I pay $2550 a month to live like this. I have had to remain in constant contact With the manager and service request system. At first it was the noise, then the heat didn't work at all (for a week) and they never addressed the noise now over a month. So I started recording and reached higher up within the Brodsky organization. They do very minimal and close the work orders without checking back in. So it is a constant process for me to follow up and resubmit work orders. Not to mention nothing has been fixed and I shouldn't have to deal with repair men who are rude coming in on a daily business on top of disregarding that I ask them not to interrupt during hrs I need to go work from home! The first thing that should be done is to drain radiators.....why after a month has this not been done. Additionally, the doormen are polite, however, one in particular never remembers me and can be rude at times. I moved in and no joke a friend of mine came over and they asked him if I knew he was coming over and sent him right up. Really secure thanks! Nonetheless not worth the rent, not secure, and not recommended!!!! Go away from Brodsky and this building in particular. Too bad I can't attach a video the sound is obnoxious!!!!!

As…read moreanyone knows who does the NYC search from afar, it is incredibly difficult to line up showings and act fast on great options. Through several initial calls, Vanessa went above and beyond to initially get to know my needs/wants in the search and would line up several showings for weekend trips I could make it up to NY. When I wasn't available to make the trip, she would go out of her way to do a virtual showings with me, even going so far to walk around the neighborhood on video so I got the lay of the land. Vanessa's reliable, calm and optimistic demeanor keep me going and ultimately we found the perfect spot. I couldn't recommend Vanessa enough and would absolutely use her for any future housing searches I have!

From day one, Alex has been nothing short of exceptional, kind, generous with his time, endlessly patient, and unbelievably knowledgeable about the NYC market. Coming from LA, we had so much to learn, and Alex guided us with grace, professionalism, and warmth. He never pressured us, always listened, educated us thoroughly, and stayed consistently positive and supportive through every twist and turn. He's not just an agent, he's a true advisor, teacher, and advocate. His attention to detail, communication skills, and deep understanding of the market are truly rare. And beyond all that, he's simply a wonderful human being we now call family, someone you instantly trust and enjoy working with. We also want to shout out Kyle Hambas, another amazing Senior member of the Lofty team, who was incredibly smart, helpful, and professional. Together, Alex and Kyle are a dream team. If you're buying or leasing in NYC, do yourself a favor, call Alex Raffa. He's the kind of person who restores your faith in what real service looks like.

The buildings "solution" was to keep the sink stopper closed so the cockroaches could not come into my apartment through the pipes. That made it better but still had issues. The toilet chain rusted off within the month I was there and had to be replaced because the toilet wouldn't flush. I also had issues in which the fan my neighbor 1 floor above me and my fan were synched to the same remote. So when one of us would turn the light on it would trigger on the ceiling light. I talked to management they came in my apt and told me they had fixed it. Had issues again and now they tell me that they could not fix it. I had an amazon package delivered to my apartment. I had a confirmation email from amazon saying it was delivered. The doorman claimed that I must have picked it up. Later I found out that the doorman gave it to the wrong apartment. Instead of returning my package my neighbor opened it. My neighbor gave me half of the package but I was still missing half of it. Claims that it was never in there. Luckily amazon gave me a refund with no questions asked. I've had issues with the building manager as well. You have to reserve the elevator on move in. The manager put in the wrong week for move in so I had to call her back and sort it out on the day of the move after back and forth with the doorman. On move out I gave the manager permission for movers access to my apartment. She forgot to update it in my computer. As a result, the movers did not have access to my apartment the day of the move. Instead of letting them in the doorman told me to call the manager. I was at work and didn't have time to call the manager and offered to show the email as Proof that they have access. He refused to understand no matter how much I explained. I had to reschedule the movers. I only lived here for a year. The staff is incompetent and there is poor communication.
