New 'specials' are a bit overpriced and not exactly high quality. Hubby's Burger overcooked. My shrimp didn't come with the pesto they should have been tossed with and the sautéed spinach wasn't. The waitress was so nice though. read more

Fun outdoor dining in downtown Dowagiac but the kitchen needs to get their stuff together. 1/4 of our groups order came out a solid 20 mins before the other 3/4 (20 people total). I could tell it was the kitchen because our waitress was pretty good with drinks (some notable mess ups, but it was a big group), and there was only like 4 other tables in the place. Food is hit or miss - I enjoyed a spicy shrimp special, bluegill special was cold and nasty. $2 burger night (Tuesdays) is a good deal and those burgers aren't bad, they're smaller than the menu burgers, however the much bigger normal menu burgers came out way overcooked, sooo dry. They have a good selection on the domestics list which also has a good price (I think $2). Cant say I won't return but I think after this time, we like Zeke's better for a group. read more

This Bar is super charming. However three of us went there for lunch and had to wait literally one hour for two appetizers and one and a half hours for our three meals. The appetizers and ended up being good, the food was mediocre. The menu had a pretty good selection on it and the price is very reasonable. I would come back again if they can improve the cook time. Never run a tab at this bar. You will end up paying for mystery drinks. Food is mediocre at best. It's a "good ole boys" bar.

At one point a restaurant reaches what I belive to be their life expectancy. Its that moment when its no longer able to support its basic needs for its survival. I can equate this to beautiful, proud buck deer crashing its way thru the wilderness, eating, running, looking for a doe to hump. Then it reaches its final days, it runs into trees, shits itself, and gets hit and killed by a Prius. I believe the Wounded Minnow has reached its shitting on itself stage. The Minnow is wounded and dying. My wife, son and I happily drove into Dowagiac after a grueling day of beersbee, and Madden Football. We decided on the Wounded Minnow because we had been told the pizza was pretty darn good for bar pizza and my son loves their strawberry, almond and fetta salad. Well my friends, we were lied to. LIARS!!! Our first indication that the night was going to be another fiery decent into the bowels of hell was the waitstaff. We waited 15 minutes for our waitress to come to our table, finally the bartender had to come out from behind the bar and help ole slow poke, lazy eye mary with our drink order. Now there were 3 waitresses working in this shit hole, and at any given moment one was walking by our table unfortunately for us they were way to busy with the 6 other tables in the building. Finally about 10 min. Later Mary came by with our drinks and took our order. My son orders the salad and my wife and I order a 16" pizza. We order the Bottom Feeder pizza and asked them to hold the green peppers, and olives. Pretty Fucking easy right? Yea.....not so much. We also ordered the salad bar and soup. Now we arrived at the Minnow at 7:00 pm. We waited on the scary Mary to take our order amd she didnt take our order until 7:30. So up to the salad bar we roamed and oh my god! Half the toppings were gone, the dressings were mixed together, and the soup was so salty they should have called it the Wounded Anchovie....am I right??!! Around 9:30 our pizza arrived, burnt to holy hell. They also were able to bring my sons salad 2 hours later. How long does it take to make a salad? The little olives that were " not suppose" to be on their were burnt to little black embers. Mary looks me dead in the eye and says" I can make you another one if you want", make me another one??......another....pizza?? I was confused...disoriented.....you think I have another 2 hours of free time? No thank you just bring the bill. This was the moment when the Wounded Anchovie made my Yelp list. I eat here twice a week!!. I usually get said bar and soup. Their soups are amazing. But the ugly burger is super Frickin huge. Also the apps of pretzel sticks is the best I ever had,love the staff also. read more

The last few times I have been in here the service has been slow. But the calzones are great. The last time I tried one if the salads and it was better then expected. I think if they work on the speed of the service this place could be a 4-5 star place. read more

We went for the first time the other night and I was very dissatisfied with the food quality. I got one of the burgers and the meat was cold on the inside. I'm sure it was a mistake, they took some money off the bill which was nice. But turned me away from going again anytime soon read more

It's not awful but it's not great. The staff is nice, the beer and wine menu isn't bad but the food is hit or miss.

We just had pizzas from there, and they were the best EVER! Loved the crust, the sauce, the sausage, all of it!

I had fish dinner on Friday, the side dish (garlic mushrooms) came out cold & the fish (Cod) was breaded & very dry & cold. Sent back & recieved the same problem with the fish. Decided not to eat. Worst food and service ever. Over one hour to get food and guest that were there less then 10 minutes were served before us. When we did get our food it was cold and undercooked. Who wants rare pork. Not me save your time and money by staying away from this dump. read more
