This is not an exact translation of the above, but I just want to express my appreciation again to WOW (Centreville location) for a truly impressive presentation of Korean food for my grandson's 1st birthday party. I chose the set menu, which was extremely convenient. I knew I could count on the food being delicious as I have ordered their weekly set menu in the recent past (roughly 4 servings included with a different menu each week). The food arrived ahead of schedule. WOW also prepared a warmer set so that the galbi would be warm when it was served. All the serving utensils were provided and the labeled containers were set out on the table by their staff. I left the dessert portion to the discretion of the owner and she matched her selection to the occasion. Everything was not only aesthetically pleasing (I received lots of compliments and questions about where to order) but also the food brought back childhood memories of my own mom's cooking - that was the best! I found this hidden gem back a year ago and absolutely loved their beef brisket which was priced at $23. However after recently going, they raised their price of the meats by $7-8 which does not justify the 1-2 pounds of meat that you get in the bag. Moreover, since there's no price markings, I was even more thrown off when my total came out to $32 instead of $24. Meat also tasted different than usual. Not sure what's been going on but I don't think I'll be coming back again. read more

The name of the store is what drew me in - 'WOW fresh MEAT' - who could resist?! This small little Korean meat store offers fresh-cuts as well as freshly-frozen cuts of various kinds of meat - pork, beef, duck, etc. Anyone who wants to do a grill-out or have a KBBQ meal at home can find a good selection here. The meats were definitely better in quality than what you can find in grocery stores/Asian grocery stores. If there is a particular kind of meat/cut you are looking for, don't hesitate to ask! The staff here are very kind and welcoming, and they really try to help their customers find exactly what they are looking for at a very fair price. Honestly, I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers have mentioned in regards to the lack of customer service, but our experience was a positive one! We picked up some pork belly and galbi, and they both were SO GOOD! The meats also come with small bags of thinly-sliced scallions, which was totally an added bonus! Definitely support this small business out - you won't be disappointed! I sometimes come here to buy Korean meats, and since May, the new owner has been offering a variety of marinated meats. This holiday season, I ordered marinated short ribs for a small catering event, and they were a huge hit! The marinade and meat quality are exceptional. Highly recommend! read more

Good: I usually come here for bags of thin slices of "brisket" (Cha-dol-bak-we). Whether really brisket or not they are great. The cuts are consistent and quality is good. Price is not that bad given no other places sell it like this place does. Bad: Rude staff including owner. Price gouge in other cuts (choice grade ribeye and short rib at $27 per pound!!!). Costco's PRIME grade ribeye is at ~$13/pound in comparison. They also sell toothpaste behind the counter and now N95 masks $6 per. SMH. Great example of lack of competition is horrible for customers. read more

I know that pork belly is originally a lot of fat, but these are just chunks of fat. 2 out of 8 lines were like that. I'm going to H-Mart from now on. Way over price! read more

A Korean butcher shop that offers: - Fresh cuts of meat if you want to grill at home in lieu of AYCE Korean BBQ (they also sell duck to pan-fry!) - Marinated bulgogi, LA galbi, and other meats for about $5-$10 (two servings) - Homemade dumplings, either kimchi or meat - Variety of homemade kimchi. Their selling points are the dumplings and kimchi (made without MSG). However, the dumplings come with a steep price tag of $15. Their marinated meats are not that tender, which is what I would expect from AYCE Korean BBQ but not from a specialty butcher shop. Nonetheless, the marinade is delicious. read more

This is the first Korean butcher shop that has the best quality meat around town. You can't compare to other butcher shops or other marts. The owners are so sweet and their sauces are very good as well (mustard and red sauce in particular!). Their meat is perfect for any bbq parties or even when you want to casually eat at home as well. The scallion side is also given to you for free with any order. Be sure to buy the sauces when buying the meat, they're a perfect pair! read more

it is a Korean Butcher shop in Centreville. I have pretty good experience with it, until I bought meat called 'O dol sal'. One of my friend recommend me that part, it had great taste. So I decided to get my own. I just get one pack of it, since I was not sure that the taste came from extreme hunger or something else. (I hate being too risky). anyway, when I was about to cook, I found that out the meat was double packed. regular packed then put another layer of meat then wrapped it again. As soon as I found that out, it was very unpleasant. I wish I could give no star at all for this. read more

I routinely get beef brisket & thinly sliced pork belly (dae-pae-sam-gyup-sal); in fact, we are getting them this week!!! I would eat this every week if possible. I don't know why ppl left bad reviews on this store. I drive 30+ min just to get their meat. I also know they provide meat for local restaurants as far as Annandale (personally saw them deliver). read more

Finally a butcher shop in Centreville! The quality of the meat here is great. Sometimes its hard for the staff to understand me since most of them don't speak English ( The workers are either Korean or Hispanic)so that's one star off but it doesn't stop me from coming here when I want to get a steak. read more

Go to Lotté across the street. I walked in and immediately saw a Shelf full of all kinds of awesome marinated meats and pre-prepared Korean dishes, and then upon looking to the right you find a large menu of different cuts of beef. I came in looking for steak I was debating between 3 cuts, T-bone, porterhouse or New York strip. I was impressed with everything I've seen in the store so far and was leaning towards a porterhouse I usually don't get them because they're a little more expensive. Finally after a few minutes of standing there staring at the wall debating in my head, someone finally asked me if I needed help. I said I was debating between getting a porterhouse or something else and she looked at me as if I was speaking a completely foreign language. She looked to the lady next to her and apparently, in Korean, asked her what porterhouse was and she quickly looked at me and said we don't carry porterhouse..... nobody asks for porterhouse....... I replied casually with well I am looking for porterhouse , and they all had a very good laugh, and said you are the only one! A butcher? No porterhouse......... ? I'm sorry I am no snob when it comes to groceries or food whatsoever it smells good eat it that's my philosophy. But for a butcher shop to not have a porterhouse steak means that they're not cutting up anything in that region of the cow. this means they don't have T-bone steaks they don't have New York strips, but they do have ribeyes which are about a quarter-of-an-inch thick and laid out on a tray in sets of 4. This is the worst butcher shop(i use that term lightly.) in the northern Virginia area. Just a note to end this on, maybe people would buy porterhouse and other steaks if you sold and presented them instead of only catering to an extremely small demographic of people who apparently can't prepare their traditional meals from home and need a shop to do it for them. The rating should be less than one star. I bought 4 bags of Chadolbaegi () but the quality of the meat was extremely disappointing!! Sometime ago we as family like the soft, tender, and juicy texture of the meat, but not anymore at all. I had to travel to buy them all the way from Maryland taking almost 4 hours as a round trip expecting we would have the same quality of the meat as in the past. I WILL NOT GO THERE ANY MORE AND I DO NOT RECOMMNED. SHAME ON THEM!! read more

I've tried this butcher twice, both times the overwhelming smell of spoiled rotting meat turned me away before I could place an order. I have never been in a butcher shop with that kind of smell, its really bad. read more

Worst unfriendly customer service I have ever experienced. I ask the butcher which beef he would recommend to make beef jerkey and he said he did not have any meat that would make beef jerkey. I have never felt so unwelcomed. White people are not wanted here. Unfriendly staff. read more
