This H Mart has deteriorated in quality and cleanliness. The toilets are dirty and disgusting with used toilet paper papers all over the floor and overflowing from the trash can. The meat and seafood counters smelled bad. The food court is very crowded and nothing looked appetizing (and I am someone who loves Asian food!). Decent store. Just got a couple apples and oranges. The price is hard to beat. Produce adds up, but here they are so competitive. Their meats and other food, can depend on a number of factors. They have fresh fish which is helpful. Pricing on this is reasonable, admittedly with inflation. Parking can be interesting. The lot is decent sized, but this store is very popular. As for the interior, it's quite clean and pleasant. Very good employees. I tip my cap to them, as always friendly and polite. Go here for the fruits and vegetables. What a perfect little gem in the middle of Centreville? I highly recommend this food court where you'll find a hearty mix of different options. For one, the hwedupbap is a pretty solid bet as you'll be able to have a quick premade meal. As for the Korean options, all of the soups are great as it is piping hot and great on a cold day. The beef bone soup is particularly great and I would say it's more like 1.5 servings than a serving. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a quick casual meal. read more

Although the food court specifically in this H Mart is bit more underwhelming comparing to the Manassas and Fairfax one, the food here is great in quality. The prices went up, and some menu items are gone, (some of the items a year ago isn't here anymore,) but the portions sizes are pretty good for the prices right now. In the pics below are some of the visits we have gone here. The Jajangmyeon and Ojingeo Dupbap is pretty great! And also, the Jjambbong doesn't really taste like "actual" Jjambbong in Chinese-Korean restaurants-- just tastes like salt. Although, the Jeyuk Dupbap is pretty good. although comparing to other restaurants, it's pretty subpar. You should try the food court here if you're shopping here! CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!! Came for mangoes last Friday. They didn't have any but my kids wanted cut up watermelon so we got a container and a pouch of passion fruit juice. We were rang for 10.51, paid, grabbed bag and went on our merry way. Fast forward to Monday... hubby was paying bills, happened to check on recent charges and asked what I bought at HMart for 343.99? My mind screaming FRAUD ALERT!!! I was down in the garage frantically searching every inch of my car looking for the receipt at 11pm... nothing. I did find the plastic bag but no receipt. I swear the cashier told me she put the receipt in my bag before I grabbed it. Even thought to my self, that was nice of her since she saw I was busy with 2 kids. I never got the receipt! Went to HMart the next day. Conveniently the manager was off but the costumer service lady was able to pull the transaction receipt. It was like pulling teeth to get her to get the copy of the transaction in their system. And boy, whoever came after me must have had a party, all expensive meat for free. The lady told me since I don't have the original receipt that I will have to mail the CC statement to corporate for reimbursement. Called United to dispute the charge, everything was taken care of in minutes. Whether this was an honest mistake or deliberate, the way HMart handles possible fraudulent issues like this is awful. I was told that if I had an HMart card that they would have tracked my purchase and then what? Issue a refund right there and then? Lady couldn't even explain what the store protocol is, just very dismissive and had the oh well... attitude. Left my contact info for manager to call. No one has reached out. I've gone to this H Mart many, many times and have always felt that everything is clean and well stocked. They have plastic gloves set out at the front for those who want or need gloves while shopping. One down side that I recently encountered is that there are wayyy too many people inside (especially at the front near produce), and the aisle aren't spaced widely enough for two people to pass by each other while maintaining a good distance. It wouldn't have mattered before, but since COVID I feel like maybe they could work on spacing out their aisles a little. First, I want to thank H Mart for not succumbing to the Corona Virus panic and close down their food court. H Mart food court is one of my favorite restaurants. The Baby Octopus Dolsot Bibimbap is worth the 4 hour round trip drive it takes for me to get there (on a good traffic day). The large selection of fresh bonchon, kimchi, etc., puts Lotte Market to shame... Including baby octopus (I obviously have a thing for baby octopus ). The shellfish selection fresh and never has that "right on the edge of going bad" smell you find in a number of other fish markets. And the sweet ladies that serve the samples are always so polite. We have a generous selection of places to shop/eat in the Northern Virginia area when it comes to Asian, Southeast Asian and even Southwest Asian groceries. But H Mart is always, consistently, the cleanest, brightest and well stocked. A word to the wise; use you Waze, Map Quest or whatever you use to find alternate ways in and out of the parking lot. If you do decide to take the most direct way, off of Rt. 29, please be patient and kind. No fault of H Mart, obviously, but that particular street parking design leaves much to be desired. read more

The food court here wasn't great compared to the one in Herndon. I couldn't order ahead of time because the cashier had a hard time with English. So I had to go in and the wait time was much longer compared to the Herndon one, about 40 minutes. Then when I finally opened my order it was packaged different and I notice the portions were smaller compared to the Herndon one. The food itself was not as good as the one in Herndon because the rice seemed a bit soggy quite sticky. The taste of the meat just wasn't that great, it lacked flavor. Overall, this is a fine small H-Mart location that has certain Korean grocery items. Though, I have noticed that there is not as large of a selection in this location due to its size, especially when compared to the other H-Mart location in Fairfax. First, it is fairly effective in having items (especially those that are popular), though not all items are in this location due to their size and the prices being higher. This H Mart, located in a plaza off of Braddock, has an extensive/variety of items that they offer, especially in terms of banchans and readily-marinated meats (bulgogi, dwegi bulgogi, etc.). Similar to other H Mart locations, they have snack items, candies, produce, specialty items, houseware goods, a mini pharmacy, a Korean bread shop, as well as a food court area. For some reason, I found that they had more of a variety of rice cookers, humidifiers, as well as larger pots, pans, and bowls in the kitchenware/houseware section, even compared to Super H Mart. What really makes this location my preferred spot is that on the weekends, they have hodduk - Korean-style flat donuts that is made with wheat and flour, and filled with a mixture of brown sugar, honey, nuts, and cinnamon. The wonderfully friendly couple that runs this little stand inside the grocery store (near the food court and in front of the sushi place) are super sweet, and the husband makes literally one of the best hodduks I've had in quite some time!!! The key is that you get them right off the grill, and seat yourself at the handful of tables at the food court area to consume them right away!!! These hodduks had a slight crisp on the outside, and the filling inside was super magical - perfectly cooked, not too grainy at all, a perfect amount of nuts, and I believe this also had a hint of ginger. It was super hot, super delicious, and super satisfying! YUM. The check-out lines also seemed to be quick and efficient. For an Asian grocery store this place rates 5 stars on cleanliness. If you're looking for predominately Korean products, this place is for you. Vegetables are well stocked, fresh and display areas are clean. Same for their seafood and meat department. That's a plus for Asian markets. While I wasn't able to find any of the items I wanted to buy (majority were Taiwanese products) it was worth stopping by to know not to shop at this particular location in the future. Where this place epically fails at is their food court. The sushi at the food court restaurant was sub-par and not fresh. Yes, I know it's fish but when eating sushi, it's NOT suppose to smell fishy. My biggest issue is with the Korean restaurant in the food court. Most of their kid friendly dishes were not available (Katsu, Dumplings, Short Ribs) leaving fried rice as their only option. How do you ruin fried rice?? By burning it. The shrimp fried rice that I paid extra for had a burnt taste and smell, no flavor, no seasoning, nothing. On top of that, the lady working acted as though she couldn't be bothered by the customers. So with that attitude, the next time I need to stock up on Asian groceries, I will make the trek to either 99 Ranch or Great Wall. Newest H Mart in the area. This Asian mart or "Asian Costco" is located off Rt. 29 in the shopping center right behind Alto Plaza and right next door to HoneyPig. This location is definitely A LOT bigger than the one in Falls Church off Gallows Rd. but the set-up and products are the same but in greater quantity. The parking lot is also A LOT bigger (thank god) and less chaotic than the one in Falls Church. It's probably still not as big as the Super H Mart in Fairfax though, but I can always use another grocery store. You can find fresh produce, meats, seafood, international goods, household items, etc. They have a mini food court inside and other small vendors who sell an array of baked goods and pastries. And if you're a hungry shopper, they offer samples as you peruse through the aisles. They need to hurry it up a little on re-stocking those grass jelly drinks I love! They are always the first to go! I mainly only come here for their fish. The seafood is very fresh compared to a lot of the other grocery stores around the area. I personally am a huge fan of Sashimi, and the head of the fish department Mr. Kim never fails to filet the fish perfectly. Free of charge too ! Love the service they provide as well as the vast fresh selection of seafood. Last time I went over (it was during the weekend) and they had live flounder that had been imported from JeJudo Islands (Korea). Mr. Kim did an awesome job preparing the fish for us and my friends and I had an awesome Sashimi Party. Highly recommend this place for their seafood. Love Love Love it ! read more

Fabulous spread of produce with great prices! Incredibly clean and fresh environment. I adored the mexican style bakery in the back of the store, with 2 pastries for $1 the past can't be beat. The tres leche cake is dangerous. Less impressive to my family we're the small cakes (coconut filled w/pineapple and cinnamon) they are not very sweet, and therefore didn't meet what we were expecting. Friendly staff, got bronzini 3x during my stay in VA from here and it was amazing each time, also at a great price $5.99/lb, they happily cleaned it for me at no additional cost. Only thing they are lacking here is korean prepared foods- this is why I usually go to H mart (for Jinga brand specifically) there is a small selection down one aisle. Oh my Hmart! One of my go to grocery stores! The produce at this Heart is always on point. I go here for my vegetables, fruits, and yes you got it, KIMCHI! They a great selection of meats as well. So if you are ever in the mood for some Korean BBQ at home, buy their pre-marinade meats and take it home, cook it, and voila! You've got your own Honey Pig (at home). Today is the first day I ever went to H Mart. The first thing you notice upon entering the market is it's jamming. The music is pumping .I almost thought I was in a club. The other thing I noticed is most of the contents is all in Korean. I am thankful that I have a friend who is also Korean and I was able to do it Instant Video Connection and get some guidance on some products. We are planning a field trip together . unless , it's not their fault that I don't speak Korean. it's a Korean market and it's fabulous. If you spend $50 at H mart and go to the courtesy counter with your receipt, you can buy an entrance ticket to Spa world for $20 ( regularly $40). Also if you've ever had a body scrub at spa World they sell the mitts for $5 . They sell the same mitts for a 1.99 in the supermarket. They are way to the left of the market over by the food court there's a bunch of bath items. One thing about the gloves they tend to shrink for some reason, but for a 1.99 you can't beat it read more

Zoomed in today for produce which is always fresh and tasty . I try to come biweekly to Stock up. I do not recommend coming on the weekend as it is constantly packed and Parking a premium . The aisles are difficult to navigate when so full of shoppers but as usual the produce was crisp and fresh with the best price point . I was able to get my supplies and head out and my family will be excited to see the fresh pineapple and all the rest . It's an extra trip for me but well worth the values I find there on the healthy fare. Consistently good fruits and vegetables and I do recommend the homemade sushi in the back when u need a quick order to go. Definitely four stars for the quality and pricing . read more

Dude. I had no idea what I was missing before I discovered this H Mart. Perhaps I just haven't had enough experience with H Marts as a whole, but I was SERIOUSLY impressed with this shiny, new(er) grocery store out in Centreville! The H Mart closest to me is not particularly worth going out of my way for, but I can say for a fact that this one IS. First off -- as a 5-foot-9 half-Chinese giant, navigating through Asian grocery stores is usually an entire feat of its own. Those tiny, hobbit-sized aisles that greet you when you walk into Great Wall? Not exactly conducive for my stature. So I am sincere when I say that I REALLY appreciate the layout of this H Mart. It feels spacious and luxurious in comparison to many of its mini-aisled brethren, and I enjoy the fact that I can reach over to grab my lychees in relative peace. Secondly, I was quite taken away with the seafood section of this particular H Mart. Asian grocery stores also tend to have a bit of a reputation for being equipped with seriously fishy seafood sections. Not in a bad way, of course, but in a literally fishy way. The smell! Usually I can't stand being in the back of the store for longer than it takes for my mom to identify which specific salmon filet she wants, but here, I had no problem hanging out by the big bins of ice, laden with seafood far as I could see. Alright, which brings me to the absolute best part of this H Mart, IMO. We ventured in here around 2 PM on a Friday, and there were free samples ERRRRRVERYWHERE. Seriously, I couldn't take two steps without running into another friendly face offering me a taste of cooked bulgogi, rice noodles in broth, crackers, rice wrapped up with dried nori into mini sushi rolls... the works! I wanted to buy everything I tasted, so I guess it's a marketing strategy that works, but seriously, I haven't been that well fed from a shopping excursion in a long time.
