When i called to fix the problem they said "because you requested a change of address we can't get you connected until monday and you will need to be present for the install". I had a very good experience with WOW. It was time to disconnect the cable, internet and phone services. I called WOW to inform them of the planned cancellation. The gentleman on the phone gave me instructions as to what to return and sent me a label for the modem that I needed to ship back. All I had to do was package the modem, put the label on and take it to a Fed Ex drop off. Shipping was paid for by WOW. I have never experienced such a difficult time trying to disconnect a service. WOW makes the process as painful as possible. First, you can't cancel online, you have to call their customer service, and wait on hold forever. Unlike their better competitors, they will charge you for canceling your service. Watch out for auto renewing contracts!!! They bury that your contract will auto renew way down and the bottom and it doesn't specify how long it will renew for! Well is auto renews for a year! The only way to get out is to give 60 days written notice before your year is up or to pay an early termination fee. I spoke with a representative and then supervisor and they would not budge on the fees or policy. Wow internet has been an issue from the start. During my time with it the internet was finicky with connection to the devices. The main issue I have was from 3/12 when I left them and returned my equipment. I got the shipping box sent to my house and I packed up all the equipment, (1 modem, 2 ero pods) in the box and dropped it at their 24/7 drop box in PCB. I would have felt more comfortable hand delivering it to the office but SHOCKER its been closed to the public since COVID. Next month I get a final notice saying I have not returned it and it was missing. I called and even chatted through their customer service reps SEVERAL times and they kept giving me the same info, "equipment could not be found we contact you in 5 days" and kept pushing me along. I just got the bill and it is $432 for this junk! I should not have to pay for someone else screw up. They should put in a camera near the drop box for this issue because you would see my dropping off. Its been a frustrating ordeal and it is still ongoing they are still trying to charge me. Ughhhhhh, I HATE WOW! I live at an apartment complex and we are required to pay $75 a month for internet and cable through WOW. I added a phone line and I'm supposed to get a bill for $20 a month. Nope, they billed me $176 this month just for premium internet. I already have internet that I pay for. I never asked for an internet upgrade nor did they ever even upgrade my internet. When I call, super long wait times to speak to someone in their factory in Guatemala. It is difficult to understand them with the language barrier. They don't care though. They pass you around and tell you they have created a "case". I have gotten nowhere dealing with them on the phone so I figured I would drive to this location today. When I pulled up there were 2 other cars with people in the parking lot looking very confused. A couple of us walked up to the front door and it was locked and the lights were out. They are so dumb that they put the notes up on the other door where no one would think to look indicating that they are closed indefinitely due to Coronavirus. What an absolute waste of time! Do not waste your time driving here. This is one of the worst companies I have EVER had to deal with. Super frustrating. I would think twice before you move into a complex that makes you use them. I missed this in my initial conversation. That's a huge red flag. I don't know of another internet provider that charges for installation. I have Xfinity where I live and I thought they were bad. But man, wow is really unbelievably awful. This is the worst I have ever seen a company conduct business. A very close friend of mine is stuck with this service in Huntsville because they seem to have a monopoly on the area. This would be okay if her internet worked but it does not. She works from home so her internet needs to work. For the entire course that she has had service with them have been jerking her around. She has legitimate problems with how the service works and they only give her excuses and dont ever try to fix the problem. For example, last week customer service told her to go get her modem replaced in the local office and annotated the account to reflect that they told her to do that. When she went to the local store they refused to replace the modem. They in the store then told her to come the next day and the very same thing happened. They told her a technician would fix it on Friday but they did not. Shes been in that office so many times for the same issue. They really do not care about their customers. Wow! Technician never installed my equipment, only dropped it off, despite telling me he'd install it. Immediately called and wow says they can't send him back. Then self installation didn't work, representative scheduled another date for technician to come out. 3 days later I get a bill for $65 due June 1st.... When I was told that I'd only be billed after services are set up on May 17th. They also had my address listed incorrectly- I called to correct that. (An hour call) When I called today to talk about my bill I find out they never updated it in the system. Supervisor tells me I'm billed $65 from May 13 to June 13 because I called on may 13th to create an account and get services. She says they ask that we pay the bill on the 1st(two weeks before the due date) and that's just how there billing system is.... So how do I owe a months worth of service for 14 days? And how is it due two weeks before the month is used??? I've had the equipment for 3 days and no use of service. But In 14 days I'll owe a months worth? I don't get it at all. I talked to 4/5 representatives and everyone of them lied to me, promised me something, or assured me of something that wasn't correct. All around the 4days I've "had Wow" it's been STRAIGHT BS! I even worked for a cable provider while in college over ten years ago, and I think WOW is using the same technology from way back then. I am forced to use WOW because of where I live and it makes me frustrated. The customer service is extremely slow, they are nice, but really slow. The technology is archaic and really overpriced, and the billing system is outdated as well. "Upgraded" to 1gb internet, was told to come by the office to get a router. The people at the office told us they don't give out the 1gb routers and we need to schedule a service call. A few days later the tech came out and installed the new router. My speeds were noticeably slower and wi-fi would disconnect 10ft from the router. Called to have a service technician come out. Took off work to wait, he showed up and said he couldn't work on the service and they would reschedule sometime later that day or tomorrow. After waiting over an hour for the call back, I decided to call in myself. Turns out the work order was closed as "completed". I had to schedule another technician to come out. (Another day, another hassle). He arrived with a supervisor and they established that the router was connecting to the internet and that's all they would "guarantee", they can't control the speed or wi-fi signal. They then tried to tell me that the problem was because I changed the router name and password, when I called 'BS', they changed to the wi-fi needed to change the channel. I explained that I ran the spectrum and selected the cleanest channel, and the problem didn't happen with the old router. He then tried to think up some other excuse, until I told him to swap the modem. He didn't bring one, even though the work order was a modem problem. An hour or two later he arrived with a new modem and swapped it out. He explained that they really had no idea how to troubleshoot the 1gb service and that nobody ever gets it. He then suggested that we would be better off downgrading and getting our own equipment since there's is "junk". Great representative of your company! read more

I've seen 5 year olds who could design a better user friendly website. Their technicians in general are late, incompetent, and lack the knowledge to hold the position they obtain. NOTE: If you are having serious speed problems with your internet, the problem is MUCH more likely on your end, it could be the equipment they gave you but usually speed problems are with the cable modem, router and rarely but sometimes your computer. Any serious speed test should be after you unplug your modem and router and wait a few seconds and plug them back in to reset them, works wonders. Since it seemed the only people writing reviews were complaining thought I ought to tell me experience. I have been with them for years with almost no problems (even before they were WOW) and the few I had were always handled fast. Today I decided to change over to my own modem and upgrade my service. It was painless and found out I should have changed my "bundle" a long time ago. I went from the same service on Cable/phone and 20mb/s to same service I had for years but upgraded my internet to 100mb/s and SAVED close to $50 thanks to a helpful customer service rep. I have almost nothing but good things to say, I hate there is no longer anyone local to talk to without physically going to the local office and on the tech side they only approve ONE modem for speeds over that 100 mb/s but as part of the whole service those are minor things. I probably won't ever seriously consider using Knology again. They are really good at treating their new customers well, but after the initial installation it's really hard to get them to come out. I set up an appointment for them to transfer service from the apartment we were in to the new house we bought. It was a month from the time we called to the closest date. Then when the day finally came they never showed up. When I called to find out what happened the customer service rep said that the repairman left a note on our records that said we weren't home when they stopped by. I was home all day. Nobody ever showed up. When I told the rep this, he sided with the repairman. When my husband called to complain they, again, sided with the lying repairman. We chose to move to U-Verse who is saving us $80 a month and giving us two extra HD boxes (total 4) plus Showtime & Starz network. Sometimes you don't know how bad you got it until forced to try something new. My CHIEF complaint, however, is that they TRIED to get me to pay for the whole month when I turned in my equipment. My service had already been disconnected. I had figured it out and knew I would not owe more than half. They assured me I would have my over-payment back within 60 days, but I stuck to my guns and only paid half. Thank goodness! It has now been 92 days and they only thing I have received from them is a bill stating a small credit balance. Be VERY CAREFUL if you ever cancel their service. I started with Knology 30 years ago and their service was good and support was excellent. A US-based call center made working through problems easy. However, I had a problem yesterday and endured two lengthy support calls with techs for whom English was a second language. The first call dropped and I had to call back. After another lengthy troubleshooting session, the second tech asked me to wait two hours to see it improved. It didn't. I tried to email the link on the website (that email bounces!). I tried messaging through twitter this morning, but after two hours of no response, I called tech support again. They had no record of the troubleshooting steps from either of my first two calls and wanted to troubleshoot again. I told them no, we'd been though this and it was time to send a tech out. My neighbors have service and I have no cable and limited (0.1 megabit) internet.
