I was promised internet service for $75/month using my own modem and router, which I made clear from the beginning. Despite that, WOW! sent me their equipment anyway and started charging me for it. On top of that, they added a $5 "Service Protection Plan" I never agreed to or was even told about -- and then charged me an additional $10 self-activation fee even though I installed everything myself. When I called to fix the charges, I had to repeatedly tell them to remove things I never asked for. The bill came out to $95, not the $75 I agreed to, and nothing was properly explained upfront. This feels deceptive and dishonest. Be careful -- WOW! adds extra fees without clear consent and makes it difficult to get straightforward service. I do not recommend them to anyone. read more

Due to the lack of information of the outage from Hurricane Helene, I lost my job after not having service for over a month. After repeatedly calling trying to get an update or an estimation I would only get the same response, "We are working as quickly as possible to get everyone up and running". Knology Internet/Email works okay when it works. ...but if you ever need support, Forget it!!! Most of thier support comes from over-seas where more often than not, there are language barriers and the game of pass-the-buck, I has a Security Certificate issue with email. and the settings they provided would not work. They somehow added 2 different passwords to one of mt email addresses where only one would work on my desktop PC and a different password for logging in thru their website. No way to change a password on your own and if they change it, you won;t have a say what is will be. I finally got it working on my own, but will no longer deal with a company that has NO Real support. If I evver have to call support again, I'm done with them and suggest you never start. Before you select an ISP, call their support like just to get a taste before you commit. Knology/WOW Support is the worst I've experienced. read more

When it comes to cable there is no happy medium here. Comcast gives you everything for a heavy price tag and Wow gives you a fraction of that for less. The biggest difference was the son Demand channels. WOW offers substantially less channel options On Demand. No CBS, no OWN, etc. I think that if they offered as everything the prices would go up but I'd be ok with that as long as I was getting optimal service. Other services are comparable such as Internet and equipment. I just think that until customers are allowed to pick and choose specialized packages that we actually want, it will be hard to find a happy medium with cable. read more

PLEASE READ!!!!! I was a NEW CUSTOMER.....Delivered wrong box, charged me for it, unable to get channels including HBO that I was paying for 4 days into service, charged me, had tech come out to deliver correct box, he never showed I was home , charged 50.00. Had to wait 1 week for the box (DVR) they were suppose to originally deliver!!! Still unable to receive HBO and other channels, could not record.had to call and have them turn something ion now almost a month into my service. They never buried my cable line. It's still there to this day. Then I receive a bill for 569.87 for 1 month!!! Plus they interrupted my service for being 2 days late and would not offer an extension! I had another internet provider that had a cap on me and I paid extra. I changed to WOW! internet because of that and haven't looked back. I have total of 4 people in my home and we use a LOT of internet, its nice to not have to check how much we have used or worry if I will have to pay more because one son watched a lot on netflix and the other played on his xbox online all weekend. Speeds are fast and lowest prices for internet only. A lot of people say its the internet providers fault that their speeds are slow but the more items you have hooked up to your internet the slower it will be which means you need a faster speed. Before you say "oh the internet is slow" check what you have and how you use it. If you have 30mbps internet and have two TV's, a gaming system, IPAD, and 4 phones using your internet then yes its going to be slow! You need at least 100mbps internet. Compare apples to apples not apples to oranges. Great you got a lower price from another company but I'll bet you got a slower speed also! Oh if another company tells you you're getting fiber to the door but you have to get a dish for your cable, they are most likely not telling you the truth. There's not a lot of difference between fiber to the door and fiber on the road. Educate yourself before giving bad reviews... the reason you may be having issues may be your own fault. They send techs out and do not check anything. They walk in the door and look at their phone and say "everything looks good!" then 10 min after they leave it goes down again. I have called 65 times in the past 3 months! They recommended that the highest speed internet so I got it. No improvement! They hang up on you when they know its you calling again. Horrible customer service. It's like all of the calls are routed to a HQ building where they take calls as they please. Where I live this is the only option. When I called in (entered my last 4 of social to "speed up the process") to pay my dues and update it, I entered my card number and that's when the rep said I owed $246. The gentleman on the phone quoted us $54.99/tax, so we agreed. Few days later.. we received a bill of OVER $90! So we called, and she said the gentleman wrote in the notes $84/mo plus $11 modem rental plus all this other crap! We have our own router, we did NOT rent a modem! So we call customer service and she only takes off the modem rental. This company is full of liars, scammers, and people who don't know what they are doing. Just transferred to the area, I received multiple referrals for WOW. In less than 24 hours Richie and Dwayne had me and my family connected! Richie made the appointment process easy and I had instant response back on all my questions. Ive never seen such quick feedback from other providers. Dwayne was the technician who did the install. He was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. As for the download speed. I'm paying for 100mbps, I'm getting 92mbps. read more

SMALL BUSINESS DO NOT GET THESE SERVICES! I cannot explain how difficult and traumatic this experience has been with Wow. We have experienced over the past 1 year with these services multiple outages, phone services and Wi-Fi. This week alone 4 days of outages. It breaks my heart to feel the need to leave such horrible review, but such treacherous experience leaves me no choice. It is my hopes that I can save just one other business from going through what this company put me through. No customer should ever have to be bullied into remaining in an agreement this negatively impactful on their business. Wow will operate just fine without small business accounts like mines where the service are not a good fit. But our small businesses won't operate fine with these level of interferences without being able to operate. One of my neighboring small businesses closes early due to no Wi-Fi availability with WOW as their store can not function. That's damaging! The dedicated representatives in our area specifically Ta***** and Je** have failed me miserably! I do not recommend WOW services to anyone. Those two definitely made this experience even worst! Ta***** just quit responding to me at all for months. As an advocate for other struggling WOW small business customers like myself, Wow needs to be more transparent and have integrity and let unhappy customers out of these strangulation agreements without all the excuses, threats and blowbacks of early termination fees. It just was NOT right! Nobody goes through this process with hopes of terminating early if at all, when customers sign those agreements it's with hopes and trust that services are legit and will meet the business needs. If that can't be done then the contract should be voided. Its no different than if we don't pay our bill, WOW will terminate our services, but there is nothing in place to protect us from Wow. I was a member of WOW from oct 2016 to Jan 2022. I started using this internet provider due to it was the only one that was available at the time. In all those years i had to deal with paying increased rated without being notified. At one time i had to pay $75 for the slowest speed of internet (100megs) and when i called about it i was told that next month i would be paying $85. I looked online to see the regular rates for the different speeds and i saw that i was paying for the highest speed while using the slowest speed. When i asked about this they said that "they sent the notifications over email or to my mail box" but i never received anything And the prices online i was told "to not pay attention to those because those were not the real prices". They were talking about that there was nothing that they could do for me until i started talking about leaving the company and all of a sudden they put me on the phone with another person and all of a sudden there was a solution to my problem the best that they could do was to raise my speed to 200megs and pay the rate that it said online, they would not give me the 100 megs speed because it wasn't available. I also found out about the booklet that they send you and charge for it i never received that and i called one time and had to have it canceled. The same for the equipment rental i had to buy my own and deliver the company provided one. I had to deal with numerous outages over all that time. And many conversations with customer service blaming my equipment and them saying it was my fault. So when i decided enough is enough i called to cancel it, the person asked if i had any complaints and i was talking to him and telling him all the things i had to complain about, he started to argue with me that it was all informed to me over email or mailbox. And that it was my fault for not being informed now im just frustrated because i feel like its a training issue that all the employees are trained to say that to try to deescalate the situation and the complaint. so after arguing with him, the employee tried to give me a discount for a year to stay with the company i responded "no thank you" and when i had requested them to cancel the services on a specific date i was notified that i will be canceled on that day. Two days prior to the date of cancellation my service is canceled i call the company when i speak to someone i tell them about the situation they tell me "the account has been cancelled and that there are no notes" read more

This company has been the worst ive ever seen and i used to live in a rural area. I live in a large city and they cant figure it out. Their employees even told me the speeds change at different times. Their lead technician keeps lying but the contractors told us the truth. Called up six separate occasions to resolve the issue, waited on the line for several minutes until I could speak to a representative, and each time without fail, the men on the other end could not hear a word I was saying. Kept repeating "hello, this is Wow! How can I help you?" like their headsets wasn't working at all. Highly frustrating. When I cancelled all of their services (different extension. Her headset was in working order apparently) I was told "they were in the process of switching systems." I CAN NOT believe these people. I live in The Claiborne at West Lake and have no choice. I was told when I moved here in December, 2018, that I could bring my AT&T number. Once they tricked me into signing up, I was told that this was not possible. So I had to forward my AT&T number to my cell phone which is not acceptable because I am still having to pay for my AT&T number that I have had for over fifty years and pay these crooks too. Today I called "NOSERVICE" to find out the code to dial when I wanted my number blocked to the next number that called. Some guy from India, that I could barely understand, told me that was impossible. I called another number, so far I have found three numbers, and a high pitched girl from the Philippians told me to dial *60 and then dial the number. That was a farce as I got a busy signal. If ANYONE ever talks to a person that knows what is going on, please post the procedure that I need. It is a disgrace that in the United States of America that such should prevail. These folks do not have a clue about customer service or running a cable plant. I have been having problems for four year on and off. I cannot get a technician to show up. All they want to do is call you and make excuses about why they are not coming out. What can you expect, they use contractors to deal with trouble calls. I had to open a corporate complaint and then the only one to call me was a customer service rep. I requested a call from the local management, and three weeks later I am still waiting. The local supervisors don't want to talk to a customer about the problems they are having. The new director is in Columbus Georgia, and she won't call a customer even when there is a corporate complaint. There solution to the video problems here in Martinez was to tell customers they would be better off doing away with the cable TV and to stream online instead. The only problem is the idiots cannot keep the internet running either. About the only thing these clowns can do is keep raising my rates. This place makes COMCAST look good. If I could give a zero-star rating, I would. Wow is the worst internet service provider I've ever dealt with. We pay a higher price than the standard plan for "high-speed" internet and while we're supposed to get a download speed of 30 Mbps, we consistently get speeds between 5 and 10 Mbps. We've called customer service on numerous occasions and we've even had a technician come to our home, but the problem just seems to be getting worse. Definitely switching to AT&T ASAP! read more
