We really wanted to love this place. Walked in. Two men working inside but no one said a word. I said hello and a friendly man came out. He suggested their top wraps so we ordered two of them. The chicken wrap was really fresh and yummy. However the steak wrap was not good. The meat was cold and chewy. There was way too much sauce so the salad inside the wrap was soggy so mucb so that the entire thing dripped all over the table, down my leg and into my left shoe. Yikes. It was nice that they had two small tables outside. There is no restroom so you need to plan ahead. I think this cute little place has potential but for now it seems a bit neglected and a little lost. I hope this place survives because I love small independent spots.

Koobideh Plate could be much better if it was grilled right. It was cold and underdone.

This is a high potential spot with an interesting menu but unfortunately it seems to be neglected. The food can improve with some basic supervision. My dish was only warm, not hot. The koobideh was underdone. When I mentioned it, they quickly replaced it with a better one which was also hot. The interior of the restaurant needs a quick touch up too. It was simply dusty, which there is no excuse for.

Steak Chimichurri Wrap ($14.99) w/ roasted jalapeños (75¢). I don't usually like wraps. This one was delicious.

I've got to stop eating like this. Today I came into Wrap N Kabob and ordered a Steak Chimichurri Wrap ($14.99) with grilled jalapeños (75¢). I sat at one of the handful of indoor tables while the worker retreated to the back to assemble this creation. When he dropped it in front of me I quietly read my book while devouring the entire thing. I was halfway through this delicious wrap, dripping meat juices, chimchurri sauce, little bits of jalapeños, roast bell peppers, and fresh cherry tomato parts when I realized I was quite satisfied but decided that it'd never taste any better than it did at that moment. Then I proceeded to finish off the other half. If you like spicy fare don't miss the opportunity to add the grilled jalapeños to anything you order. For me, they really added the kick that I like in my food and I'd be apt to add them to everything on the menu. Wrap N Kabob is a tiny, very casual storefront with a few tables indoors and a couple more outside. Don't be fooled by the simple (funky, actually) decor; based on what I enjoyed, the food here is far better than the surroundings imply.

Roasted garlic hummus, it's delicious! They have an extra seasoning on it that enhances the flavor.

This place was such a wonderful find. After a long night of gallery hopping I was hungry and wanted something light but tasty. While searching to see what was even still open in the area this was one of the places I found and man was I glad I did! I ordered the chimichurri steak wrap, roasted garlic hummus and the beef wrap! Good thing that I ordered a few things because I ended up eating one of the wraps in the car when I intended to just have a little taste while it was still fresh and I ended up eating the whole thing! It honestly saved me a drive from Vallejo because I'd definitely would've drove back the next day for more! The service is always friendly and the food is always fresh, I was threatened with a good time with their Cheeto wrap (not something I'd normally try but I trust them enough to at least try it once!) This is a small spot with character but with limited seating and that's fine with me (I usually get mine to go but it's nice to have to option if I wanted to dine in.) I enjoy their food so much that I drive from Vallejo often (about 45 mins on a good day) for their wraps and I don't think twice about it! It gives me a reason to hangout in the area (so many great food options, cafes, galleries and even a cute movie theater! If you like wraps and or something light and more on the healthier side (not including the Cheeto wrap) this place is a must try! J

Personalized combo plate and a side of hummus

Super small place that packs a tasty punch. The guys who run this place are super friendly and serve really high quality food. We came in looking to scratch the kebab itch and came from SF to San Rafael in search of grilled meats and we were not disappointed. Ordered the combo grilled chicken and koobideh plate. It came with sumac red onions and grilled tomatoes that were perfectly charred over a bed of basmati rice. The meats were moist and flavorful and the veggies were fresh and a great complement to the buttery rice and creamy hummus. We also took it off the menu and made up our own plate with Shirazi salad instead of rice and side of hummus with lavash. Sooo good. Don't pass up this joint - it looks small but easily found seating inside or outside. Highly recommend. The food here is better than most white tablecloth joints!

The food here is so good and fresh, and the guys are super friendly and helpful. The menu is straightforward -- a handful of wraps koobideh (beef and lamb), chicken, etc., that you can also get as plates. The plates come with a tasty grilled tomato, and a yummy sauce. I get the Koobideh and my partner, the chicken. Both/all fresh and tasty. Also try the yogurt dips -- I get the one that comes with walnuts and raisins (make sure you also get some lavash bread to dip into it). We do take out; seating is very limited. Last night, I had a DoorDash glitch (totally an app problem), and the guys at WNK couldn't have been more helpful getting things back on track. read more

How did I not know about this hidden gem?? We placed a huge order for take out, I arrived early and was greeted with great conversation, a warm welcome and left with a variety of delicious kabobs, packed securely so I wouldn't have any spills in my car and was even offered a hand to my car. Everything was seasoned perfectly, 8 entrees and not a single item missing, everything was cooked to perfection. Wrap n kabob is hands down our new favorite for authentic Persian kabob. The atmosphere inside is warm with cozy tables for indoor dining, there's plenty of outdoor seating which will be perfect for warm weather dining and again, the best and hands down most authentic Persian kabobs I've had in NorCal. They even have an entire dessert menu full of authentic Persian ice cream in all the delicious flavors we grew up with, traditional falloudeh which is a rare find in the north bay and no joke I felt like I was in Westwood! I highly recommend the koobideh and barg for my fellow carnivores out there. You won't be disappointed! read more

Darn good food! I found myself in San Rafael and wanted something good to eat. Obviously there are a lot of choices there and I am glad I chose this place! The owner was super friendly. The food is cooked to order and the quality of all the ingredients was very good. I got the chicken #7. Delicious! And the to go pack of sumac and salt is the perfect touch for it. The food is priced super fair or even a little low.. In talking to the owner they've been open for just about a year. What a crazy time to open a small restaurant! Power to him! We ordered takeouts from Wrap N Kabob 2x now. Both times are delicious beyond belief. They made all their sauces, salad dressing in-house. I can drink their garlic aioli! Chris is super nice and so are the staff. I was greeted right away and feel welcomed. I love this new neighborhood gem. Portion is just right. I was full with the wraps I had. Dinner 1 - Steak Shish Kabob, super moist, perfectly grilled, tasted awesome - Chimichurri Steak Wrap, wow, the garlic aioli + Chimichurri suace is perfect combo, super delicious Dinner 2 - Kabob Wrap with Koobideh, super good, will be back for this one. - Wrap N Kabob Special with Koobideh, I don't know what the special ingredients are - it doesn't matter bc it's yum yum. I tried the two entree combination special with an extra Shish Kabob skewer and Kashk e Bademjan (Pureed garlic and eggplant, topped with sauteed onion) Unfortunately the chicken breast, ground meat and steak were all super dry and overcooked. The flavor was decent but the tough and dry meat was not tasty. The rice was good, lavash bread was fresh, The Kashk e Bademjan was almost as dry as the meat, like it had been in the fridge or freezer a little too long. Really good food. I'm veggie and every one of their appetizers is veggie and delicious. My husband got the chicken and beef kabobs and loved them. They are aimed mostly at take out--there are three indoor two-top tables and three picnic tables outside. They also cater. That being said, we ate in and had a great experience. Sorry to say it wasn't good. A lot of pieces of the chicken kebabs were undercooked rubbery/too raw on the inside, we couldn't eat most of it even after asking for well done. They made the rookie cooking mistake of thinking the meat was done just because the very outside was starting to look cooked or char. Especially on thick pieces like most were on the kebab, this can be dangerous. Was also a spice or something used that was burning my mouth for a while after. Also be sure to know it is Persian/Iranian cooking, not Mediterranean/Greek. read more

What a gem! I have been eating here for weeks on end (lunch) and really enjoy the food. First, prices are fair, food is healthy, and so far absolutely consistent. I have been stuck on the Kabob wraps. Specifically the chicken and beef (special kabob wrap). Just super yummy food. Also the portions are perfect size, most importantly, I don't feel weighed down after eating here. The food is not heavy, you feel energized, very clean. Had a hankering for Mediterranean food and a nearby Mediterranean market told me this was a good place. Was in a hurry yesterday evening and popped in - I was quickly greeted by Chris, the owner, who was super friendly and welcoming. I asked for his recommendation for a "first timer" and he pointed me towards the koobideh wrap, which was SO good! I was already craving another a few hours after I finished it. Looking forward to trying the chimichanga wrap, which I've heard good things about. I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but I wanted to support Chris and his delicious food. You should, too! We went here last night for dinner and it was delicious! So happy to have found a good Persian spot in Marin. The customer service was beyond. Everyone was so friendly and kind, regaling us with stories while we were ordering. They brought us free, home made tiramisu while we were waiting for our food. Best tiramisu I've ever had. The kabob was super tasty and juicy, portions were big and prices extremely reasonable. We will definitely be going back a lot! So excited to have found this jem and only 10 minutes away. read more

Honestly, it's a bummer because this is basically the only Persian option in Marin, and I really wanted it to be good. The tahdig (crispy rice) and torshi (pickle) on the side was a fantastic touch if you enjoy that extra bit of texture and tang. The restaurant itself is beautiful, warm, and thoughtfully designed, making it a great place to relax over lunch. What really stood out, though, was the service. They have a nice selection of ice cream too. If you need tea pots and tea sets, you can get those too. I wanted to have some chicken and beef koobideh, so I popped in. However, my plan was to cook them at home on my own charcoal grill. So, full disclosure, the pictures I'm sharing are of their koobideh mixes that I formed on my own skewers and (over)cooked on my grill. Despite overcooking the kebab, they were some of the most flavorful kebabs I've had, in particular the chicken. The beef was deliciously, but pretty standard. The chicken had some magic in it. You should def come to Saffron, buy some things to take home or - better yet - have them serve up some kebab to you.

A clear teapot filled with saffron tea with rock candy on a stick; seen how they dip it in after pouring the tea. Interesting orange color indeed! A plate of zucchini, grape tomatoes, Moroccan mint leaves, and a pair of Bulgarian cheese; complimentary for my first visit here. Persian noodle soup, filled with beans, chickpeas, and lentils; loved the floral notes in every spoonful. Main course, veggie kabob on a bed of basmati rice drenched in saffron and spices, along with some onions and mushrooms, and of course, a large Lavash bread at the bottom to fill the whole plate. The best part is to completely sandwich wrap after I marginalized the contents on the plate. Ahhh! Satisfying to the last bite of herbs and spices. Not filling though, but I had no need for any dessert. Another highly recommended place to eat for locals and tourists alike. I let some of my friends know how much they'll love the best Persian dishes locals raved about. Thumbs up for the people of Lavash!

We had a reservation for Father's Day and waited about 10 minutes for a table to open, as it was the busiest I have seen. The table was nice, big enough for the five of us, and the ambiance is always great here as well. We were quickly greeted by our server, Eli, who provided chips and salsas to whet our appetites, and we soon narrowed our focus to the food and drink menus. We ultimately decided on some El Jefe Tacos, a shrimp and crab enchilada, a three-item combo with two chile rellenos and a cheese enchilada with green sauce, a carne asada taco, and the volcanic Molcajete (served in a warm stone bowl with grilled steak, chicken, and prawns. Covered with a red chile, roasted tomato sauce). For libations, we went with a mojito and a new drink - for us at least - the pineapple mezcal mule! The food came in a timely manner, and the molcajete was still bubbling! Hence, the volcano nickname! The mojito was very minty and refreshing, and the pineapple mezcal mule was an acquired taste for some of the group - I enjoyed the smoky earthiness of the mezcal, but it's not your run-of-the-mill tequila, so if you are new to mezcal, be aware of the difference. The food last time was a bit spicy, but this time it was not an issue. Still spicy, but not to the point of being overpowering. Even the salsas were not as extreme. Good for some of us! All the food was delicious, and the three-item combo was great to look at as well. As we say, "the eyes eat first," and indeed my eyes were little piggies that meal! Overall, the service was great, the food great, and the entertainment a perfect background for what would have been just a noisy bunch of chatter. Overall a great Father's Day lunch.
