We ended up asking a technician from the city to detect the problem since we thought it might be an error on their part. All it took was a new flapper to fix the problem. Since it was such a simple fix, we decided to check if Viacheslav Vlasov (owner of 781 Plumbing) is properly licensed. He is not. Not only did his license expired in May 2016, he was only an Apprentice Plumber, which would require the supervision of Journeyman Plumber or Master Plumber. We will be taking legal action against him.

He insisted that I sign it and asked him to wait on the porch until they could get my son out. He tore up the paperwork and implied he didn't need this drama. I called the office and spoke with the owner, and he explained that he sent the same man as before and how ignorant and rude he was during what was happening. The owner said this was to much drama, call another plumber. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

He was patient with me as I explained my issue over the phone and was able to inform me that our washer could still be used even before they got to fixing that. They've done a couple of other jobs for us in between like putting in a new shower head and implementing a new outdoor water spigot since the old one just didn't turn on anymore. They are always good and fair with their pricing and as always are happy to entertain my questions (like me asking where our water shutoff valve is and them showing me where it was.)

Some plumbers I've encountered in South Boston don't answer texts or voice mails. It is good to see someone who cares enough about his business to answer the phone when it rings! Pricing was reasonable, too. In line with what I would have expected. UPDATE Last month my shower head stopped putting out water. I don't know much about this, but it seemed like the water was going somewhere which worried me. It was late in the day but Jack had one of his guys out the next morning, first thing. It turned out to be a more complicated job but another guy was in the area and came to help finish the job.

The system needed replacing so we scheduled an 8AM start the next day for a complete new system installation. I was offered space heaters for my home, which was a very nice gesture. Because of the age of my system, I already had an idea of the replacement cost. Lambert's quote was well within the ballpark. No matter who you are, writing a big check can be stressful. Lambert's allowed me to purchase the heating component on the day of install and wait until spring to proceed with replacing and paying for the central air component. The technicians arrived on-time and were both professional and personable. The job's director, Sal, is a credit to the profession and the owner, Scott Lambert, came mid-day to address any questions or concerns I had, of which there were none. Everyone took great care with my home as if it were a million dollar property! Included in the job was a hardwired with battery backup carbon monoxide detector installed by the unit. I really like the new digital thermostat provided and large box of air filters...every little bit counts! We called another plumber to take a look who told us the system was installed incorrectly and the refrigerant is completely drained. It's going to be $3k to fix. We reached out to our contractor who insisted we let Tim take a look. It took days for Tim to even call me. Then he said he'd clear his calendar to take a look. Now it's been 3 days and still haven't heard a word. He doesn't keep his word and doesn't do quality work. Unrelated the reason I'm posting this review but at the time of the install we chose to go with two separate condensers which is more expensive. We came home to find out he'd decided to do one without telling us. Had to cut out part of my closet to do the vent through the second floor. My clothes were thrown all over my bed and most things ruined because of the dust. On top of that no one said a word to us about cost and we had to ask for them to lower the price based on other honest quotes we'd been given. I do not recommend.

Alfred's quick response made it possible to keep my remodel on schedule. Several months later our hot water heater blew a massive leak at 8 pm on a Saturday, Alfred showed up Sunday morning to install a new heater and haul to old one away. Finally last night the faulty gas valve on the same hot water heater failed and Alfred was here this afternoon replacing the valve, when hot water heater manufacturer was going to make me and my family wait until next week for a repair.
