Joshua helped establish our LLC formation, EIN establishment, and operation agreement. He has drafted supplemental correspondence for our educational submission and general brand legal considerations. Moreover, Joshua provides incredibly quick correspondence and is knowledgeable about contemporary businesses' social media/content creator/brand needs. Recently, he represented me against a nefarious brand withholding financial payment from a brand deal. As a female/small business owner, I feel very well protected and represented by Joshua! What I value about Joshua is his hands-on approach, his knowledge of modern-day business, his ability to break things down for me, and his responsiveness. (I have worked with two prior lawyers who were horrible with communication, dismissed my concerns, forgot important details, and billed me for services I had to redo). Joshua continues to work with me on my business journey with extraordinary counsel and representation. I am very thankful I found him and highly recommend the Kushner Law Firm! :)

1-Star Review for Snell Law Firm…read more As someone experiencing civil litigation for the first time, I faced the difficult task of choosing legal representation with limited information. From the perspective of a non-lawyer, the structural imbalance in the attorney-client relationship became immediately clear--I lacked both the expertise and leverage to meaningfully assess or question the guidance I was receiving. I'm not sharing this to express resentment, but to offer my personal account in the hope that it may help others in similar situations make more informed decisions. My experience with Snell Law raised several concerns: 1. Strategic Oversight My counterclaims, which I raised as a shareholder on behalf of the company, should have been filed as a derivative action. Instead, they were submitted as a standard civil claim. This led to early procedural objections from the opposing party and even a motion to dismiss, which risked derailing the case before the substance could be addressed. After seeking second opinions from two independent firms, I came to believe the original filing format was not appropriate. I ended up switching counsel and revising the pleadings--incurring both delay and considerable cost. 2. Passive Approach and Strategic Uncertainty Given ongoing concerns about potential irregularities in financial records, I had hoped for quicker action regarding document discovery and production. Before key financial documents were obtained, I was advised to hire a forensic accountant and begin valuation procedures. At the time, I wondered whether that step might have been premature, especially considering the cost involved. I was also informed by email that the opposing party was being "cooperative" in producing records. However, several of my document requests remained unanswered, which led me to question whether the guidance I was receiving was fully aligned with the actual situation. 3. Billing Structure That Was Sometimes Unclear From my perspective as a client unfamiliar with law firm billing practices, there were times when the invoices felt hard to interpret--especially when more than one professional appeared to be billing time for the same task, such as reviewing an email I sent. In some cases, internal discussions seemed to result from relatively simple client communications, and I didn't always understand how responsibilities were divided. Because progress in the case was limited during certain periods, I personally found it difficult to evaluate the value of the time billed in relation to outcomes at those stages. 4. Communication That Sometimes Felt Disconnected During the engagement, there were times when I had to follow up more than once for updates or decisions, and I sometimes found myself trying to prompt strategic direction. Some email responses were delayed, and a few of my inquiries did not receive replies. After I sent a formal termination notice, I received a long message from the lead attorney--along with a lunch invitation and an offer to "clarify things." While I appreciated the gesture, by that time, I felt the opportunity to rebuild trust had already passed. 5. Delay in Trust Account Refund Although the final invoice was issued on April 1 and our engagement ended on March 21, the remaining balance in the IOLTA trust account wasn't refunded until nearly three weeks later. It took follow-up from my side to get the refund processed. In my view, this final administrative step should have been handled more efficiently and professionally. Again, I share this review not to attack anyone, but to offer transparency from a client's perspective. Every legal case is unique, and I recognize that other clients may have had different experiences. But for anyone facing complex disputes and relying on legal counsel, I strongly encourage asking detailed questions and exploring multiple perspectives before making a decision. I sincerely hope this helps someone avoid the challenges I went through.

Without Jason and co-counsel Lance, we would have lost our house and deposits, but through brilliant legal strategy, they were able to prevent this. The entire office of the Snell Law Firm is excellent in communicating with their clients, setting clear expectations and understanding what the needs of their customer are. They listen well and execute even better. If we ever need representation again, we will not look any further than the Snell Law Firm, and we can (and have) recommend their service to many of our friends who were or are in the same situation. He refuses to return calls, voicemail, certified letters, emails, etc. The address listed here on Google and his website are just a coworking space that doesn't even claim to know who he is - it is certainly not his office. I have an active case with the State Bar Of Texas to investigate this issue and he is also ignoring all communication attempts from the State Bar. Prior to this I had opened a case with the Client Attorney Assistance Program and he ignored them, too. He owes me several thousand dollars and is in breach of contract for failure to return an unearned retainer. Not only is failure to return an unearned retainer unethical, but given the amount of time that has passed this has potential criminal and civil consequences for Mr. Coonley. Although he is (technically) a lawyer it's not clear he understands that failure to reply to a grievance issued by the Chief Disciplinary Council of the State Bar Of Texas has the potential to get him disbarred at worst and at best produces a public reprimand which will be on his record forever. I would never recommend anyone work with this attorney. For anyone else who may be experiencing issues with this attorney here are resources for you: - Create a free case with the client attorney CAAP (email caap@texasbar.com to get more info) - File a grievance with the State Bar of Texas (cdcinfo@texasbar.com)

After I asked him to get me an LLC formed, I couldn't get ahold from him anymore. Trying to get ahold of him was more trouble than me just doing it myself. He makes your life more difficult, not easier. So if you want to pay money to feel like an absolute sucker, John is the right lawyer for you. I wouldn't wish working with this guy on my worst enemy. I went to the address listed on his google business page and couldn't find him anywhere, nor anybody who know who he was. Eventually after a long time, I believe after I left a negative review on google, he finally reached out. He agreed to refund me for my LLC filing fees, which makes sense since he didn't actually file the LLC, but not his time, even though he really didn't help me accomplish anything. I was at least relieved to get a refund. That process was just as frustrating. It took multiple weeks of calling and texting incessantly to get the refund actually processed, and he was less than pleasant to deal with and whined about what a pain in the ass the refund process was for him. After FINALLY receiving the refund, he asked me to take down the negative google review I left for him. Despite all he had put me through, I said if he came by and shook my hand and apologized like a man, I would take it down. He agreed and then I never heard from him again. WHAT A JOKE!
