Normally I get good customer service at this location. Today was a lot different. I walked in Keylen greeted me, I did the same. (When I go shoe shopping 9.5 out of 10 I know the exact shoe I want to purchase. If I see another I happen to like I'll get that one too). I walked passed the shoe I wanted to look at all the other shoes in case they didn't have my size in the initial shoe. This way I wouldn't be so disappointed if they didn't. Nothing I saw interested me. I picked up the Jordan shoe that I wanted. WSS has these particular shoes stored away with a lock on the cabinet. I held the shoe up got Keylens attention and asked her if they had any sizes left. Keylen responded I don't know. She looked over at Melanie and asked her the same thing I asked her. Melanie replied, "No we don't." Keylen replies to me, "No we don't." I asked her, "Why is this shoe still on display if the shoe is sold out? Can you please open this(I pointed) and check." Keylen said, "yes." I told her the size. As I'm trying them on a guy with braids comes over and ask me do I need any help with anything. I told he no. Then I told him what transpired between me and his co-workers. The guy apologized for that. I said thank you. Then Melanie and Keylen started to laugh. How rude. He was trying to clean the mess up for them and they were laughing. I am a loyal rewards member, I purchased the shoes from the cashier Melanie, received my change and receipt. I asked Melanie, "is the manager working today?" She said, "I'm in charge for today." I said, ok may I have a card and can you please write your name on it?" She gave it too me. Went here today after school and my son hit the jackpot. He spotted some shoes on the clearance section and they fit so we grabbed them and ran !!! We paid for them first $29.97 done !! My son normally takes forever picking out shoes. He spotted these "dodger blue " shoes immediately!! Happy kid happy Mommy. This "shoe warehouse," isn't all that great. Prices are very high considering the selection is severely limited. Not only that; but most of the stock is restricted to last years' styles. Not current editions. Employees are rude; I believe they must be on commission because they get very uptight when you tell them for the third time that you do not need assistance. Security is also eyeballing everyone excessively; definitely not the place to shop if you value any sort of privacy. Building is old; floors & shelves are disorganized and dusty. WSS in Hawthorne is located right on Hawthorne Blvd. Super convenient location on busy Hawthorne, easy to find, and only about 15-20 min from most south bay and wla residents. Selection: really good, I'm kinna a male ho bag when it comes to shoes and I was totally in trouble at this place, actually started a pile of boxes at the counter because I couldn't carry 'em all. Horrible during the satin drop on 8/16/19 the manage and his crew play favoritism with the monkeys who ran the line. We sat their all night while the other left and came back we should have got to purchase the shoes not them. Work boots, soccer cleats, soccer balls, backpacks, sandals, heels, wedges, workout clothes, fashionable clothes for women! There is definitely a wide variety of stuff to choose from. The store isn't that large, however. This is definitely a place to go to for shoes and not clothes...but you can always check out the clothes while you're there. The staff is very friendly. Be sure to check-in on your Yelp app when you walk in! They almost ALWAYS give you a discount coupon with your check-in (usually $10 off your purchase of 50 or more). Not too shabby! Love the Customer Service At this Store. Unlike the Store in Wilmington you actually get people to assist you when your carelessly looking for what you need. Yes, im that person that has that confused look when looking through sizes styles and all the other gibberish that come with self serve retail stores. Meh this place is hit and miss. Im not into the fancy I have to have the latest shoes off the shelf type of person so when I do go in here I find what I need. Most times I come in here is for my toddler since shes walking and talking and ready for school in a few months. This is the perfect place for me to shop for her shoes and not have to drive to the mall just for some tennis shoes. The staff could be a little more personable, Smile greet your customers when they walk in and leave. Henry Estrada seems to be off. Being a store manager I think he would be more professional. Very rude and in a way feel like he dislikes me, but in reality I can care less but being a customer and him being in the business for some years and acting the way he does is really absurd. I greet the employees all the time and come in all the time. Then tells me I am a disturbance to the employees and should leave the store?! Doesn't work like that. Customer service here should be way different. Instead of him helping a customer out, I was the one helping her out. He may have problems outside of work, but the fact that he brings it into his work place is just really dumb. And I know I am not the only one because even his own employees say the same thing. Reason why I know is because like I said I mostly talk to everyone at the store.
