I hired Imperial Remodels to build a single-car garage on my property, replacing an existing concrete pad. The project was contracted to start on March 1, 2024, and finish by April 1, 2024, for $21,000. I paid a $10,000 cash deposit on March 13, 2024, but the contractor did not provide a receipt for the cash deposit. After signing the contract and accepting my deposit, the contractor told me someone would begin removing the concrete pad within about a week. Shortly after, someone arrived with an excavator, destroyed, and removed the concrete pad. They left behind an uneven dirt surface, which has created a serious safety hazard for me. Due to mobility issues, I now struggle to safely get in and out of my car. Despite repeated attempts to contact the contractor to discuss next steps and complete the work, he has ignored all my calls and messages. On one occasion, he agreed to visit my property to discuss the project but canceled the meeting and never followed up. My daughter attempted to help me by posting a review on their business page to warn others. In response, the business owner finally reached out, acknowledged their wrongdoing, and agreed to reimburse me the full deposit plus interest. However, they got Yelp to remove my daughter's post and are unreachable again. They have still not provided any reimbursement for the lost money or the destruction of my property. I was primarily in contact with Mike Isak (206-909-8125), but his colleague, Karina Momotyuk, was also involved. Another phone number associated with them is (253-409-6956). As a result, I am out my $10,000 deposit, unable to safely park my car, and left with no resolution. He has abandoned this job, caused destruction of my property, and has a complete lack of remorse or professionalism--particularly in taking advantage of someone in my position. Do not do work with this company as they pray on people.

Five years ago we had carpet installed and were left with an annoying gap between the carpet and the baseboard. It drove me crazy! Carl not only handled the installation beautifully, but he also made sure the new padding was thick enough to eliminate that gap entirely. We will not be working with Better Call Carl again. Last November, we hired him to perform a…read more"bathroom refresh". Hooked us in with a great price and great initial communication. On the first day on the renovation, we went through all the details of changes we wanted to make with his team. Somehow, these details never came to fruition. They did a great job with the drywall, painting, and tub installation - however, their tile work in the shower is subpar (the tiles were placed crooked and we had to go in to regrout ourselves). We previously had plumbing work done, so the cabinetry underneath the vanity had to be replaced. Better Call Carl figured the best way to do this was to just patchwork plywood (we went back ourselves to fix). He also didn't see the need for continuous baseboards (see photo). The biggest problem we have is with the floors - we also had terrazzo floor tiles placed and confirmed with the team prior to starting that there were enough tiles to complete the project. The floor is not up to industry standard nor ADA requirements. The grout lines are all different sizes and the actual tiles are not level, resulting in a trip hazard. There are also tiles that have been chipped both during and after installation. We reached out to Better Call Carl after work was complete to see if he could replace the floor - he was reluctant to come back, but he did end up replacing two tiles (out of 21). Even after the second round, the floor is a little more level, but nowhere near the standard or expectation. There are still chipped tiles, uneven grout lines, and tiles that are not level. We will be buying new tiles and having the floor redone, so we asked for a partial refund (for just the work on the floor), which was denied. We then tried to see if there was any other resolution we could agree on since Better Call Carl claims he has a one-year warranty. He refused to uphold his warranty. We'll be going with another professional from here on and would not recommend Better Call Carl to anyone.

Zack responded the same morning I requested their service and a quote. He and Carlos came out that same day, inspected the roof, and presented us with options. We ended up getting a completely new roof, and they did an awesome job. Throughout the process Zack and Carlos took multiple photos/videos to show us what they were seeing on the roof and in the attic. To say they were transparent and had great communication doesn't do it justice. Every single part of the process was laid out and they updated us throughout the whole process. It made the whole thing so much less stressful for our family. We have a 1,300 square foot house and they were able to take off the old roof (including 30 plywood pieces) and install the new one in under 48 hours from start to finish. I had just come home from work as they were finishing, and Carlos had me come up on the roof right then and there to see the work they had done before it was dark. Without getting into details on how horrific our old roof was, I immediately could tell that the new roof they had just installed was done very well and properly.
