The food was amazing and reasonably priced. It was served promptly and they were so nice! I'll definitely be coming back here.

It smells like restaurants on Oahu. I can't explain what that means, but I got a meaningful whiff that brought me right to Oahu, haha. Not any other Hawaiian island, lol. It wasn't the best ramen I've ever had, but it satisfied the inexplicable ramen craving I have been experiencing when I tax my brain for hours on end. Another big pro is that they have chicken ramen options, which I always appreciate. I don't typically love ramen, so definitely take my assessment with a grain of salt. I do love a draft Japanese beer though, so I can definitely attest to that!

Stopped in for a quick dinner. Ordered Wulan Chicken Ramen at the counter. Found a seat at table in their casual dining area. Food was brought to the table by the friendly professional staff. Ramen was a large bowl of yumminess with copious amounts of chicken. Recommended to friends & family and anyone looking for a wholesome meal in just one bowl.

Worth the wait!!! I ordered the chicken wulan app~ delish!!! My bro ordered the chicken teriyaki plate and it's enough for 2!!! But for him? A piece of cake.:) I had the ribeye teriyaki bowl cooked to perfection!! I enjoyed my large hot sake listening to reggae!! Good vibes:) Take me home!!

First time here and man was it good! The garlic edamame was delicious! Such a wonderful garlic flavor! The place is reminiscent of many great small restaurants in San Francisco! We really enjoyed the great service and delicious sushi! Gotta get back here again soon as the menu is pretty rich with great choices of food for everyone in your group!

Update 4/25: It genuinely makes me a little sad to write this, because I used to absolutely adore Wulan , it's right down the street from my house and the Ghibli references inside make it feel so special and charming! But the last two visits have been pretty disappointing, and I feel like honesty is actually the kindest thing I can offer here. The service has slipped noticeably ...tables sat with stacks of dishes, not enough staff on the floor and the food quality has followed. Brown lettuce in my salad, the corn potato salad being sold out, Katsu that was overcooked and dry. That's really hard to overlook, especially when a bowl of ramen is running $16 to $20 and there are solid alternatives like Beshock and Gonzo nearby. That said, the ramen itself is still genuinely good! If you're going purely for ramen and can let the rest slide, it's still one of the better spots around. I'm just rooting for them to bounce back, because I really, truly want to love this place again the way I used to!

The service here was so quick! I liked the vibe of this restaurant too. Tried the black knight ramen which was definitely the better one. The Hot Chick was good, a bit too spicy for me and the broth could've been hotter (temperature-wise) but all the ingredients were good in it! The cuts of chicken were more dark meat and I would've preferred white personally but still a yummy ramen!

I've visited several times now and it never disappoints. The ramen is always my go to. Recently, I was excited to see they've expanded their sushi menu, and it's definitely worth exploring. I tried the spicy tuna roll and the Hawaiian crunch roll. The new sushi options add a whole different layer to the experience, making it just as fun to come for rolls as it is for ramen. Between the consistently great ramen and the fresh sushi menu, this has become one of my favorite spots to keep coming back to.

I'm new to Oceansides from LA and in search of a new ramen spot. I got the Wu Lan Ramen in hopes of that creamy Tonkotsu pork broth with those deep umami undertones. It came out looking great but I was somewhat saddened by the broth. Instead of creamy and rich, it felt watered down and lacked that flavorful salty note. Positives: Bamboo shoots, egg, and noodles were yummy Room for improvement: Broth. My chashu was mostly fat and did not have a lot of actual meat. With the char, I expected to bite into something flavored and salted with soy, but it was very bland, tough, and fatty. I really wanted this to work out, but the broth needs more love. The broth is one of the main reasons why I crave ramen

The place is clean, food is great! Service is fantastic, I forgot our server's name but my mom only drinks hot water and she made sure my mom gets it. All three of us had their famous ramen and it didn't disappoint. Thank you, Wu Lan Ramen!

Cozy ambience. Incredible experience. Owners obviously care very deeply about ensuring their customers feel seen and taken care of. So sweet and everyone was lovey and attentive. Our food was incredible, we both got miso hot ramen and gyoza. Possibly the best miso I've had. We were passing through on a FB marketplace run and got lucky we stopped here. 10/10!!!

The place wasn't too busy but had decent reviews, so we decided to give it a try (for the win!). They were able to accommodate our large group with seating, which was really appreciated. Once we sat down and placed our orders, things initially seemed fine. But then the service slipped. When I asked for water, they only brought out three cups, just for the kids. We had to ask multiple times before my wife and I finally got ours. Most of the food arrived, but my eldest daughter's meal was completely missing. After we inquired, it took another 15 minutes for it to come out. It really felt like they had forgotten half our order. The fried rice and broth arrived even later. On the positive side, the food tasted fresh and was genuinely good overall. What really stood out negatively, though, was the staff's response every time we said "thank you." Instead of "you're welcome" or "no problem," it was always just "Yep!" It came across as dismissive and disrespectful. While the food was solid, the service and basic human interaction need real improvement. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll probably look for other options.

I always enjoy dining there with my family because they have good food that we can all enjoy together. Every year for my birthday I go to Gonzo! I simply love eating at Gonzo. First of all, I can't get over how scrumptious their food is, it is so tasty and packed with flavor. If you stand in line to order, as soon as you sit down you will have already been served. I don't know how Gonzo prepares their meals so fast, yet so delicious. Also the fact that they cook their food fresh daily is crazy to me. I've been to many ramen restaurants and no one compares to Gonzo's. My go to on the menu is the tonkotsu ramen with gyoza and chicken karaage. Gonzo also offers a very unique atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Japan. They have waving cats, a big banana neon light, posters and a floating ball on top of the water station. The ball is so cool but I am still puzzled on how it works. Their decor can not be matched. They also have a TV that is always playing Anime. You can also sit inside or outside so if you feel like sitting inside, sit inside but if you want to sit outside, sit outside. Gonzo also does not offer reservations so there is always a place to sit. If there is nowhere to sit just get It to go, truly there is no other ramen stop better than Gonzo. Lastly, the people there are super nice, and always check up on you, they are very polite, and they always say your welcome. While you wait, you can enjoy your appetizers until your main meal arrives. Also if you ask them for a free ticket to their store, they will give you one, each member of the family gets one. You can go next door and trade them in for tokens, these tokens can be used to play claw machines so you can win stuff. But what tops that off is that all of the employees are welcoming and happy. Gonzo Ramen is the best restaurant in the world. They offer good food, an amazing atmosphere and the people there are super nice not to mention the location is very conveniently located near my house. I seriously think about Gonzo all the time. Gonzo is that go to place for me and my family.

We settled on Oceanside in hopes of finding good food, as our weekend (end of Feb) had been full of a poor results. This place came up as very well rated on Yelp, as my friend and I searched for places to eat. It was a Saturday night with great weather. The red flag I should have read into was that the lone guy working that night was a one man show. He was doing it all in the front of the house. I tried to get us a table to sit outdoors but he just couldn't get to the table to clean it. After about 20 minutes he finally came and just moved all the bowls to the empty table next to it and wiped it down. When my friends finally arrived we all sat down to sticky menus that had NO descriptions. What you see on the website is exactly what they have on the menu. We had to wait to ask the server/host what each menu item meant. It took a while to get our food from when we ordered. Thank goodness for good company, I didn't clock it. The food options were limited and keep in mind for those who have children, most of the options come with a spicy kick, you'll have to explicitly tell them "no spicy"! There was a party who had been sitting for a while before we got there and a kiddo took a bite of pizza and was crying, screaming from it being so spicy. With my ramen the portions are tiny for what you pay, with 1 piece of meat, not enough noodles. Flavor wise it was spicy and bland. We ordered a couple appetizers which were not very good. The edamame was overly salty and soaked in soy sauce and the karaage was probably the only good thing and that was a little overfried. No one in our party finished our food or took any of the leftovers home. Save yourself the trip, not worth trying the "unique foods".

When I arrived at Pho House, I was told that the boba for the tea was not ready and would take 10 more minutes after paying $60, which included a $10 tip. I was the only customer in the restaurant and waited for my order for over 25 minutes, while the staff were socializing (in a language not everyone understands). I spoke up and said I had been waiting over 25 minutes for the Thai tea boba after being told it would only take 10 minutes. The staff said the boba takes time to prepare and I responded that they should have given a realistic lead time. As a customer, I felt ignored, alienated and forgotten about. I have nothing against different cultures but it's not polite or welcoming for staff to be socializing in a manner that is ethnocentric and exclusionary, acting like customers are invisible. A word of advice to customers: don't tip staff in advance but only tip if they deliver on what was agreed, and no less. Tipping staff who are not truthful or go back on their word is a waste of money. Tipping is not mandatory but only if the service meets expectations. Staff who don't care about their customers are not deserving of tips.
