I love Beshock and have been here more than a dozen times. It's my favorite restaurant at the mall and somewhere I keep finding myself coming back to. Parking is usually pretty easy, and while the restaurant is small, there is both indoor and outdoor seating. One of the best deals is their happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. I especially love their cocktails, and they're even better at happy hour prices. My go to order is the katsu chicken curry ramen. It's so good! I'm also a big fan of the poke bowl and their specialty sushi rolls. It was okay. I think I just didn't like my order. We were at the mall and wanted sushi so we came here. But it's obviously a ramen place so after getting there I changed my mind. But I had also just had ramen a week ago so tried to change it up further by getting the chicken curry ramen. Wanted sushi. Ended up getting something that tasted more like Indian food. Stopped in for lunch today, our first time. My husband and I ordered house made pork gyoza, and 2 black tonkotsu ramen bowls. The gyoza was over cooked and slightly burnt which was disappointing. The ramen was pretty good, the broth was actually pretty incredible, I do wish there were some kikurage mushrooms, maybe some ginger and seaweed in the bowls to make it heartier, but the noodles were good, the pork chashu was cooked well and I enjoy having the bamboo shoots included. The restaurant was decently clean, could use some touch ups here and there, spices and sauces could be wiped down and the menus were sticky and haven't been cleaned in a while. Took the empty plates in a timely fashion to make space. Tables get crowded at times fast when there are a lot or orders. The Old fashioned drink tasted yummy, actually ordered 2 . Bowls of ramen came in a good portions. The place is not big but plenty enough to accommodate larger grp. Relaxing ambiance, moderate noise, still able to make conversation easy across the table. I was craving ramen for dinner. It was after a long day at The Flower Fields. We ordered from Beshock Ramen through Uber Eats. Everything was well packed with many utensils. We ordered the following; - Pork Bowl 5/5 Seared pork chashu, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and garlic chips with eel sauce and mustard mayo. It was very tasty, rich with juicy ork chashu. - Vegan Ramen 5/5 Creamy vegetable broth with shio koji and soy milk base, sesame oil, tofu, grilled corn, cherry tomatoes, broccolini and green onion. I loved this order. It was creamy and rich, in addition to large portion. -Nagoya Karage 5/5 It included rice, Nagoya Karage, and spring mix. The chicken was crispy, juicy and very flavorful. -Pork bun 5/5 Seared housemade pork chashu, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and garlic chips with eel sauce and mustard mayo. This place is literally one of my go-to ramen spots and for good reason! The moment you walk in, every staff member greets you and it honestly gave me the best Japan flashbacks. The inside has this cool modern vibe with Japanese elements throughout which I loved. We started off with takoyaki for the app and omg the presentation was so cute. I'm a total sucker for photogenic food so I was already obsessed before even taking a bite. And the taste? Crispy and chewy on the outside, soft on the inside. Easily a 5/5. For my main I went with the Sapporo miso ramen and wow, the broth was so rich and flavorful. The noodles were thick and chewy and you could totally tell they were made fresh. The pork chashu was super tender and the grilled corn?? Loved it so much. I finished the whole bowl which honestly says everything. Came to this place on a whim for dinner with a group of 6. We ordered a variety of dishes and drinks. I had the Carlsbad roll. It was my ideal roll with seared salmon and salmon inside. I would say the rice is a little too soft but has a great ratio. So a 9/10 for me. The chicken karage bowl included juicy and large pieces of chicken. We really enjoyed the flavors of this bowl so it was a 10/10. My friends got the ramen and they had high praises. The beer flight was a good amount for only $12. The kawaii colada was refreshing but not as piña colada as we thought it would be. True service was extremely friendly and sweet. Beshocked by the small portions, lukewarm broth, and sad chashu from this ramen joint. I visited right after the restaurant opened on a sleepy Sunday. The service was friendly and efficient. The food didn't really satisfy my ramen cravings or make me feel full afterwards. My dining companion ordered the tantan noodles and I got the spicy miso ramen. The chashu included in my ramen was sad and pathetic. The spinach and egg made everything taste even more tepid as both items were ice cold. The noodles were nice and springy but the portions were small. I ended up finishing my meal in less than 4-5 bites. Beshock is located at the mall, so there is a lot of parking, which makes sense how busy it was on a Sunday evening. Interior is very modern and chic. Sat at the bar, but they did not attend to us and attended to other patrons who sat at the bar after us. After 10 minutes, someone finally took our order. Food took a long time to come out. Their ramen and karaaage were okay, nothing noteworthy and definitely not worth the wait. They could definitely improve on their service. My partner and I were visiting friends in Carlsbad and we wanted to eat something quick but filling. It was quite late and we drove around to many places looking for something to eat but most places either had an extremely long wait or they were closed. Went on Christmas Eve expecting it to be busy but found a spot at the bar as I was dining by myself. Super friendly and attentive staff, which I loved. This place has Spicy Tan Tan ramen which isn't as easy to find as I would've thought. I've only had it in Japan before having it here at Beshock. The flavor was spot on. Spiced to perfection and the ground pork on top was ample. I do wish there was more bok choy but you can always request extra for a small additional charge. They have a lunch special which includes a small appetizer for adjust $1 more and both ramen and app are regular size. Sapporo and sake are also on special for $4 each. You can't miss out on their happy hour. The deals are fantastic and it's the perfect stop on your way home from work. We usually opt for Sapporo and hot sake with a cucumber roll. My favorite spot for ramen! I would go here more often if it was closer to home or work. My girlfriends and I came for dinner on a Tuesday evening and it was not busy. We were given the option to choose any open table. One of my girlfriends is vegan so we shared garlic edamame and the vegan roll to start. They have Happy Hour until 6pm so both were cheap. I enjoyed both. I was surprised how much I liked the vegan roll because I'm not vegan. It was fresh and tasty. Stopped by for dinner on 4/5 and my party of 4 (2 kids) were greeted and seated immediately. While this restaurant is not huge, it's the perfect size for a ramen restaurant in a mall. The place is clean with a nice bar you can sit and dine at as well as several small tables. They have a few tables outside and the larger one had a table top fire pit. We ordered a kid's ramen ($10 gets u a small bowl of plain ramen in your choice of broth, edamame beans, fries, and a drink), gyoza, hotate roll- delish and the candied lemon on top was great for texture and acidity, 2 tonkatsu ramens loaded with charred pork, bamboo shoots, scallions, half a boiled egg, a couple of pieces of seaweed, and flavorful broth, a spicy miso ramen with same items as above and corn, and a lychee tini. The ramen and lychee tini were delicious! Their ramen had the perfect texture and was not too thick or thin. The lychee tini was flavorful and well presented. Dinner was about $108 which was fair for all that food. By the time we were done with dinner, they had a few people waiting to be seated. Service was quick and efficient and food came out fairly quickly. Their drink menu looks pretty creative and good so we might try to stop by again. Since they are in a mall, parking can be tricky if you have mobility restrictions. You will likely find a parking spot but may need to walk a bit. read more

We stopped in as we were in the area celebrating a new car. The ambience was nice and our server was friendly, but that's where it ended. As a Far Easterner who grew up in the food business, we found the appetizers, "sushi rolls" & ramen bland, with no depth of flavor, gentrified with a capital G. Our crispy tuna appetizer was given to the table to our right by the food runner in pigtails. They had ordered within 30 seconds of receiving it, while we'd already been waiting 15 minutes, and it still took 30 more to remake. Dishes came out in the wrong order, and no discount was offered which is a gold standard in customer retention and experience. This place feels run by inexperienced management. I heard good things about this place, decided to try it out. It's located on the outside border of the mall with your typical mall parking. Ambiance is low key, not too loud. The servers were nice and accommodating. We definitely overdid it with the food and ordered too much. My favorite thing was the takoyaki (served fancy in individual spoons). I also tried the karaage chicken - I wish the chicken was cut into smaller pieces and that they were crispier; the pieces were pretty large. I tried the deep fried soft shell crab bao (it was okay, I'd probably just get the crab as an appetizer next time and not as bao). Lastly tried the dirty fries (not bad but too saucy). We came here on September 7 around 6:20 PM, and this was hands down one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in over 30 years of working in the hospitality industry. We asked for indoor seating and were placed on the waiting list. About 25 minutes later, we were told indoor wasn't available and asked if we'd accept outdoor seating. That was fine--we agreed, got seated, and were given menus, water, and utensils. Here's where it went downhill: a large group came in after us, plus two other customers across from us. Within minutes, three different servers rushed over to take their orders, bring appetizers, and serve drinks. Meanwhile, our table was completely ignored. Not a single server even looked our way to ask if we were ready to order. We sat there waiting, while everyone else was served. When I finally spoke to the Manager, her excuse was that "the servers are new." She apologized and even offered to comp our food. But by then, the damage was done. We had our 3-year-old daughter with us, and after being treated like we were invisible, we had no appetite to eat. We left without ordering. The worst part? It felt like discrimination. The big group was greeted with enthusiasm--one server even said, "Awesome! I got you guys." But not once were we acknowledged. Because we weren't "dressed up" like the other group, it truly felt like we were brushed aside. I've owned businesses overseas and spent decades in this industry. Being "new" is not an excuse for flat-out ignoring guests. This wasn't a mistake--it was a complete lack of basic customer service and respect.
